Deleted Scene

“Dean, what do you think this is?” Sam said, as he pulled a video out of their dad’s car.

The car they had used two days to find, because they had to get the weapons, in the trunk, out, and get the car to Bobby, before somebody else found it. And because their dad had died, they couldn’t ask him where he had parked it, they just had to look in the area they knew he had been in.

“It just says; John, Mary, Dean and little Sammy, do you think it’s a video of us?” Sam continued.

“Don’t know, I can’t remember we should have had a video camera, but again I don’t remember much from that time before…” Dean stopped, by the look Sam gave him he knew Sam understood.

“Let’s find out, think Bobby has a player somewhere.”

As long as the Impala was under repair, they stayed at Bobby’s, and had even borrowed a car, though it wasn’t a classic, and it really bothered Dean, but after the whole demons-and-car-accident-results-in-dead-father, Bobby had taken the boys in as if they were his sons, and they kinda were, and the brothers where really grateful.

They asked Bobby if he had a video player, and to their luck he had one, and as they told him what they would use it for, he said he would let them see it alone, he wouldn’t interferer the private, family business.

The boys turned it on, and sat down to watch it. When it began, a small gasp could be heard from both.

The tape shoved Mary sitting in a kitchen, feeding baby Sam with porridge, Sam with food all over his face, and a four-year-old Dean sitting beside him, drawing, but started laugh as he looked at Sam.

……

“Smile Mary, you’re on!” John said, in a joyful voice.

“John… Couldn’t it wait till at least Sammy was done eating?” Mary said in a irritated voice, but she couldn’t help smile.

“See, Deanie can laugh, although Sam is eating, even I am smiling,” you could hear John saying from behind the camera.

“You know that’s not what I meant,” Mary said, again she couldn’t help but smile.

“Da-da, mmmmm-a,” Sam suddenly said, looking into the camera with big eyes, and a smile forming on his lips.

……

Dean smiled; that reminded him of the many times he had heard Sam saying something like that, before Sam finally said his first ‘real’ word.

……

“That’s right Sammy, see his done eating, now give me a big smile,” John said in a cheerful voice.

“Wait a sec,” Mary answered as she took a swap, and clean Sam’s face, to much irritation for Sam, who where now looking irritated at the swab.

When she was done, she turned around, looked into the camera and smiled.

“That’s my wife, the most beautiful lady in the whole world.”

“John,” Mary said as she blushed.

Dean was sitting shaking his head, as his smiled.

……

Sam couldn’t help but laugh, he was seeing a family, he had ones been a part of, but couldn’t remember, and even when everything was happy-family-home Dean gave the same smirks as he did nowadays.

……

“Don’t you sit there and smirk, Deanie-boy, what are you drawing? No wait… I just… There, now I can come over and see it myself.”

John had settled the camera on something, still with focus on the family, and then he appeared from behind, and sat down between Dean and Mary, with Sam sitting on her lap. When John sat, he pulled Dean up on his lap, and asked again.

“Now what are you drawing there, Dean,” he said as the whole family was now looking down at the paper.

“It’s us, see, you there, and there mom holding Sammy, and me there, see Sammy it’s you!” Dean said, looking proud up on his family, and especially on Sam, who where in deep concentration, looking like he was really studying the drawing.

……

This time Dean laughed, even as a baby, Sam could look like a professor.

……

“It’s beautiful Dean; let’s show the camera, shall we? Then we can show the tape to grandma and granddad, and they can see it too,” Mary said, as John agreed, and Dean just looked even prouder.

When they hold it up, Dean was pointing at the different figures.

“This is dad,” He said and pointed at a big man, who was smiling, though the mouth was too big, and went beyond the face.

“And here is mom, holding little Sammy,” this time he pointed at a women, whit long blond hair, and wearing a beautiful dress, but her arms were awkwardly holding a little baby in her arms, the baby with a pacifier in his mouth.

“And me, standing right there,” he said, pointing at a boy standing between his mom and dad, and was holding his dads hand.

……

“Didn’t now you had an artist hidden in you, Dean,” Sam said cheerful.

“Oh, shut up Sam,” Dean said not looking away from the screen.

“Without sounding, as you would say, too gay, I think it’s kinda cute Dean,” Sam said, this time with seriousness in his voice.

This time Dean looked up, and gave a shy look.

……

“Do you think grandma and granddad think it’s beautiful too,” Dean said in a nervous voice.

“Of course they will Dean, you’re an artist, and if not, we will have to talk some sense into them,” John said.

“Dad you can not hurt them!” Dean sounded scared but still determined.

“That’s not what I meant, I would more do something like this,” John said, and then started tickle Dean.

As Dean giggled, and begged for John to stop, Sam stated giggle too, and clapping his small hands and Mary couldn’t hold her smile back, either.

When John stopped, Dean spoke as if he had thought his father was going to do that to his grandparent.

“Dad, you can’t do that, grandma will be mad, and granddad will juts hit you with the newspaper.”

Mary and John started laughing, and Sam giggled to, though he didn’t knew why. But Dean sat serious and first after a minute, he realized his dad hadn’t meant it, and started laughing too.

“Oh Dean, we love you,” came a still half-laughing voice from John.

“Yeah, Dean, I want you to know that both dad and I love you very much, also Sam, we love you both, and nothing can ever change that, you understand,” Mary said in a more serious voice.

Dean nodded, and then said: “I love you too, both you, and dad, and Sammy, I always will.”

……

Though Sam knew it, it touched something inside of him when he heard Dean saying he loved him, and he could see by the awkward grimace Dean gave him, that he still meant it.

……

“Do you also love each other?” Dean asked.

“Of course we do, Dean, there are three persons I love with all my heart, and it’s you, Sammy, and your mother” John said, then looked at Mary and saw her given him looked that meant she felt exactly the same, and then he kissed her.

As they kissed Dean looked at them, then down at Sammy, who looked like he understood everything and still confused about it, at same the time.

But when Dean leaned forward, and gave Sam a kiss on his forehead, he looked like he understood, and reached out to Dean.

In the meantime, John and Mary had stopped the kiss, and had seen Sam reaching out for Dean.

“Here Dean,” Mary said and handled Sam to Dean.

Dean sat up against his father, holding Sam carefully, and talk to him about everything, and Sam looked like he listened and understood everything. It was the perfect family, with joy and happiness, and…

……

The screen went black, and the video stopped. Nobody turned, the TV of, they just sat, surprised by what they had just seen.

Then Sam spoke.

“Why do you think dad never showed us?”

“I don’t know, maybe he couldn’t watch the life we had before, couldn’t watch mom, as the date down in the corner said, it was filmed one week before the night.”

“You’re probably right, it was probably too hard, but god I wish I could remember something from that time, just anything.”

“Well, you’ve just got something, besides my stories, to show you have it was,” Dean said, trying to find a grimace which would be perfect for the situation, but didn’t seem to find any.

“Yeah… Umm Dean, you I, um, I lo… I-”

“You’re not going all chick-flick again, Sam,” Dean said, already knowing what Sam was trying to say.

“Alright, jerk,” Sam said, now smiling.

“Bitch.”

And then came a long moment, of awkward silence.

“I’ll better go out and work on the car,” Dean finally said.

Sam was up, faster than Dean.

“Do you want any help?” He said, hoping Dean would let him help, just this once.

Seeing the eager and hope Dean answered: “Of course, I could need some help actually, just promise me you DON’T and I mean DON’T touch anything without my permission.”

“Promise!” Sam said, and then they walked out to the Impala, and though they had lost their mother, and father, and had almost lost each other, they walk out there, together, as brothers, as family.

Dean, Cas and Sam were standing in an open field. There was a low wall at the end of the field and Sam had placed some cans on it.
Dean showed Cas how to prepare a gun and then made a few shots at the cans. He didn’t miss one.
“You’re really good at this” Cas said admiring. Dean handed the weapon to him. “Your turn”, he said, when Sam had put the cans back and stepped away from the wall as far as possible. He didn’t really trust Cas with a gun.
Cas aimed the gun at the walls and fired and missed.
“I think you just killed a tree” Sam joked. “If I were you, I’d hide for...

The next morning.
Cas woke up on the couch of Meg’s motel. He slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes. Light shone through the curtains and Cas stood up and walked to them to open them. Dean’s Impala was parked across the street.
Meg ticked on the side windows of Dean’s car and Dean jumped up. He frowned and blinked to remember where he was. When he did, he turned the window down.
“What are you doing here so early?” Meg asked.
“What’s in the bag?” Dean nodded at the small paper bag Meg was holding in her right hand.
“Breakfast” Meg replied short.
“Thanks, you shouldn’t have”...

Dean entered the café Cas had left an hour ago. Cas had called him by using speed dial, but then his phone dropped and all he could hear was a struggle and someone saying ‘I know you’
Dean had looked almost everywhere. He had been asking for him in eat café’s, restaurants, coffee shops, while he tried getting him on the phone.
He walked to the bar and tapped on it.
“Good evening, I’m looking for someone. A man, tall, dark hair, wears a trench coat” Dean described Cas.
The barkeeper, who knew who Dean was talking about, peeked at the three men who had returned. Then he turned back...

Cas was sitting at a table in the corner of a café. He had sneaked out of the hospital shortly after Meg had left. Apparently Meg had given Dean his number, because his phone wouldn’t stop buzzing. But Cas didn’t want Dean’s company right now. He just wanted to be left alone.
Three men were lurking at him from the bar. Cas could feel their eyes on him and he looked up. They were mumbling to each other and if Cas had still been an angel he would know what they were talking about. But now their whispered conversation remained a mystery to him.
He stood up and headed for the exit. He didn’t...

Jo parked the car in front of a cheap looking motel. The lights flickered, the windows were no longer see through and above the entrance there was a damaged board that once spelled the word ‘WELCOME’, but due to age and neglect only the first three letters were still readable.
“This is the best I could find” Jo said. She had find it a better idea if she had been the one taking Meg away. Dean and Meg in the same space was never a good idea, even if he did save her life.
“It’s good enough for me” Meg commented. She loosened her seatbelt and wanted to step out.
“Hang on” Jo said...

Cas carried Meg to the bed and lay her down. He removed her sweater and held his breath. On the place Kevin had hit there was a big gap and Meg was losing blood on a rapid pace. Cas turned to Dean, begging for help.
Dean looked down at the badly injured ex-demon. Meg had done countless of evil things. She deserved to die like this. The wound would get infected, she’d get a fever, and then she would die.
“Dean, do something!” Cas yelled desperate.
Dean rotated his head to his best friend, who leaned forward.
“She’s not breathing” Cas panicked.
Another few crucial seconds passed by...

Sam, Jo and Ellen were standing around Dean’s bed in the mortuary. There was a book where people could write down their condolences, but since Dean didn’t know that many people, the book would be as good as empty.
Jo took Dean’s hand and brought it to her lips. She kissed his fingers, while tears rolled over her face. Then something magnificent happened. Dean pinched Jo’s hand.
“Dean?” Jo said breathless. Sam and Ellen looked up at Dean. They saw his eyelids move and slowly they opened.
“Dean!” Sam exclaimed. Dean blinked his eyes and sat up. He looked around. “Where the hell...

Cas took Ellen’s arm and disappeared. He landed in the ICU, next to Jo’s bed.
“Warn me if someone’s coming. I don’t know how long this will take” Cas said dispassionately. Ellen nodded and walked to the door. She opened it and walked outside.
Cas sank down on the bed and lay his hands on both Jo’s temples. He closed his eyes and prayed for Jo to open her eyes.
And she did. At first everything was a blur. She reached out her hand and touched Cas’ face. “Dean?” she mumbled weak. When Cas’ face became clearer she withdrew her hand. “I’m sorry”
Cas didn’t reply, but...

Zoey knocked the door of the motel room. She had seen Dean leave a minute ago. He probably went to the blonde girl she just shot.
“Cas? Can you open the door?” she asked sweet.
Cas rotated his head and looked at the door.
“Please, Cas? I just want to talk” Zoey said slow.
Cas looked at the bed next to him, but Meg had fallen asleep. Lucky her, Cas thought.
“Cas, I have Dean and I have a gun. Open the door now”
Cas’ eyes widened in fear and he slowly came out of bed.
“I’m…I’m coming” he stammered. “Don’t kill him” He held his stomach, his injuries were still not completely...

Zoey woke up in a hospital bed. She wasn’t happy to be there. Crowley had taken away her angel powers and she was completely human again.
She walked to the door and opened it. She came face to face with a guardian.
“Miss Allen, where are you going?” the guardian asked.
“What is this?” Zoey frowned. “Why is there police guarding my room?”
“I’m just following orders, Miss Allen” the guardian answered. “My boss has a few questions for you”
“Then I guess you should call him” Zoey said and she walked back into her room.
She walked to the window and opened it. Her room was on ground floor, so she didn’t have to climb that deep. She swung her leg over the edge, followed by her other leg. She jumped and landed on the pavers. She turned around and ran away.
Cas groaned from the pain. His injuries healed very slowly and he failed to stay strong.
“I’m sorry, Dean” Cas sobbed as tears rolled over his face. “I don’t want to be a baby, but it hurts so much”
“It’s okay” Dean said. “Just hang in there. It’ll all be over soon”
“Make it stop” Cas begged. He coughed and threw up blood again.
Dean frowned scared. “What can I do? Tell me what I should do, Cas”
But Cas closed his eyes.
“Don’t die, okay?” Dean said afraid. “You can’t. There’s still so much we have to do. I’m going to teach you how to drive the Impala...

“Daphne? It’s time to let me go” Martin said soft.
Daphne lifted her head and stared at him with wet and bloodshot eyes. “How? I can’t”
“It’s time for me to move on” Martin said. “I’ve been wandering around for too long. I’m done here. If I stay much longer, I could turn into a vengeful spirit”
Daphne shook her head. “I don’t believe that”
“You didn’t believe I would show up in the first place, either” Martin pointed out.
Daphne pulled her shoulders. “How do I let you go? Aren’t you supposed to walk into the light or something?”
Martin laughed. “Not exactly. You have to salt and burn my bones”
“So I need to go to the cemetery?” Daphne asked.
“No. That grave is empty” Martin said bitter.
“Then where are your bones?” Daphne asked nervous.
“You’re standing on them” Martin answered.
Sam’s phone rang and when he saw it was Dean, he quickly picked up.
“Dean”
“Sammy, hi. I found Cas. He’s not doing so good” Dean said.
“Where are you?” Sam asked. Dean gave him the address. “Okay, I’ll be right there” He hung up.
Meg sat up and stood from the couch. Due to the pain she lost her balance and fell down on the couch again. Sam walked towards her and helped her up.
“You shouldn’t try getting up. Dean has Cas. Everything’s fine” he said.
“Take me to him” Meg said.
“What?” Sam asked confused.
“Take me to Cas” Meg said a little harder.
“Are you...

“If I have to die, so will you” Zoey said.
“No one has to die, moron!” Dean yelled angry. “Put the fire out, open the door, do something!”
Zoey shook her head. “I can’t. Crowley will kill me, if I let you go”
“He’ll kill you either way” Dean snapped.
“Well, if Cas doesn’t love me I don’t care” Zoey exclaimed crying.
They heard a noise and looked aside. Cas opened his eyes and frowned.
“Dean?” he said hoarse.
“I’m here” Dean said, quickly walking to Cas. He helped Cas sit up and supported his back. He looked from Cas’ injuries to Zoey. “If you really love him, you’ll let him go”
Zoey shook her head.
Cas put his fingers in his blood and painted a sigil on the floor. He poked Dean and nodded weak at the bloody sign.
“What is it?” Zoey wanted to know.
But Dean put his hand on the sigil and he and Cas vanished in a blinding light.
Daphne and Dean were standing in the woods.
“There. That’s where it happened” Daphne pointed at the lake. “I’m sorry, I’m not going any closer”
“I think we should” Dean said insensitive. He grabbed Daphne’s arm again and pulled her to the lake. “Now, tell me what happened”
“He drowned, that’s what happened!” Daphne yelled. “I was supposed to look after him, but I failed”
“That’s the story Zoey told you” Dean said. “Is there someone else who could tell you what happened?”
“No, of course not” Daphne said irritated. “Unless you count Martin, but he’s-”...

Cas’ eyes flashed open and his chest went up and down. He was tied onto a chair and he felt a sharp pain in both his hands. He looked down at his shirt, which was soaked in blood. He moved his arms and the pain in his hands became worse. He looked over his shoulder and saw how an angel sword pinched his hands together. He heard footsteps and tried to free himself.
“You’re awake” Zoey said breathless. She was carrying a plate with food. “Good”
“You killed all those people” Cas said trembling. “Why?”
Zoey sighed. “Do we have to talk about that?” She lifted the plate. “Look,...

However, as she passed by, Daphne jumped forward and stabbed Meg in her neck with syringe, containing a red substance.
“Aaaahhh!” Meg gasped and she touched her neck. “What the hell are you doing?”
But Daphne had left the building and ran for her life.

The door of the court building opened Zoey’s heart jumped up when Cas came outside. The fact that he was alone made her even happier.
“I’m glad you’re not gone yet” Cas said. Zoey died inside, but managed to stay calm.
“I waited for you” she said. She defended Daphne and tried to make Cas understand why she did it, but secretly...

Gerard got home from his work. He hung his coat on the rack and walked into the sitting room. He saw Zoey sitting in the couch, writing something.
“Eh, what are you doing here?” he asked and Zoey looked up.
“I’m writing a goodbye letter” Zoey smiled.
“For me?” Gerard asked cynical. Zoey stood up and walked to her ex-husband.
“No, not for you” she shook her head. “From you” She touched his forehead with her index and middle finger and Gerard fell unconscious.
As if he was a feather she carried him upstairs and put him on a chair. She took the rope which she had kept in the room as a preparation and winded it tightly around Gerard’s neck. The other end she tied to the chandelier. She pulled the chair away and a second later she heard a snap.
Zoey tapped Daphne’s arm reassuring. “Don’t be afraid. I won’t take you there” she promised. She took Daphne’s face in her hands. “I won’t take you there. Listen, why don’t you go take a nap? I’ll stay here to let Cas in. Gerard’s home, he can take care of Alex”
“Yeah, alright” Daphne said and she sniffed.
“Now, come one, away with those tears” Zoey said motherly. Daphne dried her eyes and smiled weak.
“I’m so lucky to have you” she sobbed.

Cas and Alexia were gone and Zoey was sitting at the kitchen table. Daphne’s handwritten book was lying open on a blank...

Cas walked outside and saw Zoey standing against the wall.
“I’m glad you’re not gone yet” Cas said.
“I waited for you” Zoey said. “Listen, Cas, what Daphne did is unforgivable, but if it helps, I had a very good conversation with her and I think she’s really sorry”
Cas shook his head. “It doesn’t help. I thought Daphne trusted me”
“She was upset about the annulment for your wedding” Zoey explained. “She’d expected or actually hoped you’d rip the pages into pieces and come home with her. But when you didn’t she was really hurt and she’s been looking for a way...
