    My head was spinning and eyes barely open and I knew it was Monday.
I slowly lifted my head and managed to get to my feet,I ran my hands through my curly Reddish-brown hair filled with dirt and knots my hands filthy. I looked around the forest the sun barely risen over the trees like a hint of yellow over a black wall. I dipped my hands in the cold creek and gently rubbed it over my face. It somehow burned on my Caramel skin.    
    Something about today was out of the ordinary, something I couldn't put my finger on. It somehow bothered me but it didn't keep me from going to school I don't think anything kept me from going to that middle school. Only if something new would happen something exciting an adventure. Funny,me looking for excitement my life's been nothing but adventure,Reason why well ledgend tells mt mom was from way back she was not any ordinary person she was a large red bird with the will to fly and feathers like fire as you can probably guess she was part Pheonix like me crazy right all I know is that there were 10 Shape shifters remaining i have no absouloute background knowledge on the subject so in other words i'm screwed I guess i just wasn't meant to know aparently my mom wasn't a good guy and i have like a curse what ever the curse maybe if Pennsylvania isn't cursed.
I slowly read the words on the tall building that read George Cooper Middle School. I took baby steps than started walking faster,that's when I saw
Justin Jefferson he wasn't familiar at first his shaggy jet black hair was in his dark green eyes that were like two leafs in the sun. I soon notice I was staring and quickly head to homeroom. Ms. Brinkley stood with her arms folded and that disappointed frown across her wrinkled lips. I tried to walk past her when she grabbed my shoulder and swung me three steps backward I simply sighed and answer “Yes,ma'am”.she took a moment to respond she sighed and asked “Courtney why you always in such a hurry to get in class? and why do you not say Good-Morning to your dear sweet Ms. Brinkley? and also why haven't I met your parents it's almost like you have none”?It felt like she just kept asking questions I didn't answer at first then she gave me a stern look insisting I answer her soon I bit my lip and was thinking of a good reason then I choked out “The reason why is my parents think conferences are for bad children I tried to tell them different but they simply won't listen and besides that would be talking back and also I rush to class cause I don't own a watch and always assume I'm late and I'm dearly sorry I haven't said Good-Morning now if you excuse me I'll be heading to class.”I smiled and hugged my books against my chest and had a kick in my step. Is this what was so different about today or was it that Justin kid I saw in the hallway? Who knew?
Chapter:2 Butterfly's
I felt a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach little specks fluttering in my stomach and me always forgetting what I was doing every time I saw Justin he somehow always managed to put a wide grin on my face. Its funny how just the sight of a person could bring such big emotions to the heart. I walked to the lunch table a little faster than usual suddenly “Crash!” I fell right on my back unsure of what just happen I looked around frantic all I saw was about 5?,10?,maybe 15? all I know is there are a bunch of strange people around me that I barely knew but one stuck out the green eyes digging deep in my soul seeping into me like water in a sponge. I soon opened my eyes wider to show I was awake I wasn't hurt but all the attention was nice. He finally saw I was alive and smiled, ”She’s alright no harm done!” then he helped me up I dusted myself off he put out his big hand and said, “Hi, I'm Justin. I shook his desperate hand and pulled the hair from my face he stopped and look down at my hand still in his grip he pulled away nervously and asked, “And you are?” I was confused “my what?” “Your name, you do have a name right?” I felt so stupid “oh its Courtney” “Pretty name I like it.” I put my head down and smiled at the compliment I just received he seemed to notice I was smiling but it didn't bother me then I asked, “Are you new here.”
he smiled and said “Yeah.” then I notice where in the middle of a lunchroom with no lunch I started walking back to the lunch line when I could hear him moving slowly behind me it was a little uncomfortable so I walked slower so we were walking side by side I could almost swear he was reaching for my hand but I think I bumped my head a little too hard then I remembered I'm half phoenix it didn't hurt at all when I fell. Soon I had reached the lunch line we talked about our hopes and dreams even though when I asked about his home and family he stopped and changed the subject I rather not ask it must be tough for him. This day was the absolute best I could not think of anything that could ruin it,or could it? I walked out of the school with a smile on my face when I met Trent Richardson.
Chapter:3 The Big Picture
    “Hey! You found it I've been looking everywhere for it” I looked down and there was a skateboard right in front of me to think I would have tripped over it and fell again I turned around and there was a dirty blond blue-eyed light skinned boy waving over the crowd I bent down and picked up the flaming print on the back of the board suddenly in a flash he was right behind me. “Thank-you so much girl, I thought I had lost it for good.” “your welcome.” I said. “I'm Trent you?”i thought a moment then said, “Courtney.” he was very handsome seemed to be very outgoing and very athletic for a minute I almost forgot about Justin I broke the silence with a simple but good question “So,you like to skateboard.”he took a minute “Yeah, its fun I like the wind in my hair it feels good almost like flying you know, like the hawk so graceful and strong.”
    I liked the way he had such a great truthful answer to my question. “Do you?”he asked I felt embarrassed that I had no good answer like he did I frowned and nodded my head no. “For real, than you haven't lived GG.” I stopped and tilted my head “GG?” he spoke with a huge grin“Yeah I like that it fits you, you seem pretty cool.” I smiled it was nice knowing I already had a cute nickname GG,I liked the way it past through my lips suddenly I heard a voice behind my head “It's Courtney you monkey”said the voice suddenly I notice it was Justin. Trent simply looked at him with a small amount of emotion “It's my nickname for her you hippo.” The animal name calling was a little unnecessary. I soon broke-up the mean conversation they turned to me and both said, “Sorry!” they glared at each other and they both said good-bye. That night I thought of Trent and Justin and couldn't understand why they were fighting I wonder?
On the way home I just could not keep from asking questions like, Trent and Justin were both sweet cool guys who were very nice why would there be any tension between them how strange? Maybe it was a rival from years ago that hasn't gone away, but what could possibly be that bad that they have to call each other mean harsh names or be over protective of a girl you barely know so many questions was I ever going to get an answer? I kept walking thinking of all the possibilities it racked my brain to the point where I had a slight headache but I couldn't stop it, it was like smoking. I finally arrived at my little hut at the edge of my pretty creek I looked at my little hut completely made of weaved grass its cone shaped roof with its rounded bottom and dirt floor. I stepped in slowly and looked around it took me only four months to create my house. I wasn't worried about storms or severe weather on occasions like that I simply go to the abandon warehouse down the street. It was rather cozy in there I sat down on the small cotton bean-bag (I had found at the warehouse it was soft and big enough for me.) Times like this I'd change into my phoenix form and fly, just fly like Trent explained, like on a skateboard I smiled at the memory his passion for Hawks seemed pretty strong. The sun seemed to be darker today though there was not one cloud in sight I guess today just felt dull even though I had a quite nice day a really nice day.
Chapter 4:Soap Opera
The next morning I felt different lighter, prettier,happier. These feelings pulled the corners of my mouth in an upward movement. I walked to school waiting to talk to Justin and Trent this thought seemed to make me walk faster. When I stepped in the building Justin was sitting right next door to my desk he smiled watching me till I sat down I put down my books and pulled back my hair it looked like he was fixing to say something but didn't. I finally spoke “So what you do yesterday?” he shrugged his shoulders and had a goofy look on his face I chuckled. He finally spoke “I went to my house and just chilled.” I looked at him for few seconds. I found this as a good opportunity to ask my mystery question “Whats up with you and Trent?”he seemed shocked at my question “Well you see me and Sh- him we fell in love with a girl by the name of Valerie and he well stole her from me and I just can't forgive him after that.” “Then what happen?” I said slowly he looked up with a pain in his face “She well--- died.”his voice broke. I couldn't believe what I just heard. “She died?” he looked at me with a look I hadn't seen before “YES!!!” he screamed at me. I backed a way. He didn't seem to care how I was feeling. He finally managed to speak “I'm so Sorry I didn't mean to get mad just bad memory,she died from a bad seizure it was hard for me and him but the hardest part is I didn't get to say good-bye.” I gave my sympathy to him he deserved it poor guy. By the end of 2nd period I was hungry then I saw Trent in the hall way “Hey,GG!” I waved at him and walked on. He ran in front of me and blocked me “Where you going in such a hurry?” I stuttered looking for an answer I began to speak not knowing what I was trying to say “Well, I am uh uh-” I stopped.”whats wrong” he asked “Valerie.” I whispered “You Know!!!”he yelled his chest seemed to get bigger his face red like a firetruck. He broke down to the floor and held his head in his arms he seemed to sob but wasn't I walked around him and knelt down beside him and rubbed his hard back he soon got out of his stance and sat down to face me “I'm so sorry.” I said. “Don't be you didn't know I'd act this way, I just loved her so much and that Monster stole her from me!” I was confused “What, I thought you stole her from him?” he looked up at me “Is that what he told you?” I nodded my head. He smirked “That Jerk.”He got up and he put his arm around me it wasn't weird like you would think he needed a friend,we walked to the lunchroom and sat down he didn't seem mad any more, matter of fact if you weren't there you'd think nothing happened “So I was thinking that after school I'd show you how to ride a skateboard.” I smiled and thought about it “Wouldn't your parents wonder where you were?”he smiled “Nah!” he laughed softly “So will you?” he put his hands in a praying gesture and put it under his chin and puckered his lips and begged I smiled and said,”Why Not.” he smiled and was pleased. I was pleased too I'd finally have something to do.
Chapter:5 Fly
    “Okay,now what I want you to do is stand carefully on the board and keep your balance.” I stood on the board gently and spread my arms apart and stared at Trent waiting for him to tell me what else to do. “Now,take your right or left foot and kick you forward then when you got enough power lift up your foot that your kicking with up and glide and steer with your body got it.” I nodded my head to let him know I was ready. I took my foot and kicked me forward I was going at a steady pace and “VROOM!”there I went he was right it did feel like flying I spread my arms and “CRASH!!!”
    I opened my eyes slowly all I saw was a blue sky with little clouds. All I heard was “GG!”,”GG”,”GG you there!” He saw my eyes slightly open he smiled and took my head and jammed it into his chest I could hear his heart beating Oh So fast like drum beats he took my head out from his grip and kissed me right on the cheek. He seemed to notice the shock in my face and went on “I was so worried no more skateboard rides for you not ever!” I didn't argue I knew he was right. I stood up and dusted myself off he swallowed “ I can't believe it I nearly got you killed I feel so stupid I gotta go!” he stormed off “Trent! Wait up where you going? It wasn't your fault!” he turned around I stepped forward he did too. “ I know this might sound crazy but GG I-” he paused “What?” “Never mind!” I took his hands in mine he didn't look at me he just kept looking down I took his
chin in my grasp so he would look at me his eyes soft like a lonely puppy. We looked at each other for what felt like hours but I sorta enjoyed it. I sat down on the park bench I patted the seat beside me he sat and waited for me to talk “Trent you don't have parents do you?” his face was defiant but noticed this battle to argue with me failed “No.” he said with a sigh “Me either” I said. I said no more about the subject I guess we both knew this didn't make our relationship any more awkward but stronger. He leaned back and relaxed “One good thing came out of having no parents.” I let the words scan through my brain “What is that?” he turned to face me surprised he took my hands“Spending more time with you.” It was bitter sweet I liked it he seemed pretty pleased with himself. “You know we've known each other only two days but it feels like forever.”I said, he thought about it and said “Weird. You know GG your actually really cute.” I blushed. He seemed to notice and went on. “So you must have a thing for me huh?” I stopped and said, “Maybe.” I was surprised about how easily the words passed through my lips he had that smile that smile I loved more than anything it shows the real softy in him mushy like a marshmallow. We talked for hours and hours at a time before I knew it it was sundown I rested my head softly on his lap and passed out.
    Chapter:6 Lions and
Tigers and Bears Oh My!!!
    I saw the sun creep over the trees slowly I sat up on the hard wood bench “Trent?, Trent?” he was nowhere in sight. I looked around nothing how strange where did he go? Then I saw a huge black silhouette it came closer “BEAR!!!” I almost got up when a young man was sitting right beside me “I'm Duncan.” he stood there with a non-nervous expression. I somehow manage to tell him who I was “Courtney.” he looked at me with a smile, all I kept thinking was man he's HOT! All he said was “I wouldn't worry too much about those bears completely harmless.” I was a bit confused “how do you know?” he looked at me “Babe I've studied those bears long enough.” his voice was also hot I got up and started off to school he yelled after me “Courtney!” I stopped in my tracks and turned around “Yes, guy I barely know.” he stood chuckling he was pretty buff for 13,”Where you going?” I looked at him with a smug look “School is appropriate for my age.” he smiled and asked “which one!” “Cooper” he smiled real wide “Me too.” I waited for him to catch up with me “hey,let me ask you something what are you doing sleeping on a park bench anyway.” I tried to remember what in the world I was doing. “I was talking with my friend and I fell asleep.” “Oh.” We made it to school within minutes I said bye and left. Trent was there all he said was “Who's that?” “Oh that's Duncan I met him in the park,Where did you go? He didn't seem concerned with my question only who Duncan was. But,he answered anyway “I had to get some new clothes on.” “Um, Trent can I ask you something?” he looked at me then said, “You can tell me anything.” “Well what was that kiss about when you found out I was alive after the skateboard incident.” he waited a long time before he answered, “because GG I really like you.” I was pretty stunned I tried to act like nothing just happened but it dug deep into my soul I tried to speak but nothing came out I tried to walk away but my feet were glued to the floor I tried to tell him how I felt but the words spoken clenched deep in my animal heart. I wanted to tell him he was crazy, how no two people can like each other so quickly I wanted to but I even knew that was a lie. He stood staring at me like I was the most beautiful thing in the universe all I could think of was things like “say something you dummy, he's likes YOU, don’t just stand there.” it was a miracle I felt the air in my lungs and I spoke the two words that I felt in my heart. “Me too.” he smiled wider than any person ever should. Right before I could think I was being kissed by the most gorgeous boy in Cooper middle school the sweetest guy on the planet and the love of my life or so I thought.
Chapter:7 Just the Beginning
    He finally let go of my lips and stopped the most amazing moment of my life. This is the part where you think “and they lived happily ever after or That's all folks” I wish, unfortunately this is only the beginning. If this was the end you'd be thinking what about Justin or Duncan like I said it just started. Any way Trent and I walked hand in hand fingers laced down in the hallway it all seemed fine till I saw Justin. His face was pained like somebody stabbed him in the gut it was so bad it burned me I couldn't help but feel sorrow. Trent made me look away and I held my head high and walked on. I told him good-bye and head to homeroom. At my surprise Justin was right next door to my seat he had no pain in his face just a sweet smile. I smiled too to let him know I was fine. I sat and put my books away he touched my hand and said, “How are you?” I looked at him with my odd confused face but I couldn't break his sweet smile. I finally spoke “Good.” he spoke again, “ I really was hoping you'd come with me to the movies and see Twilight.” I felt bad for him so at my astonishment I said, “Yes.” he smiled and went back to his homework that was incomplete. I walked out of homeroom and saw Duncan “ Hi, your the pretty girl from the park the one afraid of bears,uh Courtney.” I smiled and asked him what he was up to he was very funny joked and made me laugh a lot he had a swing to his step we spent most of Geometry together it was to my liking.
    Saturday came and I got dressed to go see Twilight with Justin I put on my lavender flower dress it flowed down to the knee I had no time to fix my hair so I head out toward the park where he said he meet me. I sat on the bench and waited for his arrival I saw a shadow in the bush it was a little bigger than Justin it was Duncan “Are you following me?” he asked “No I am not following you I'm simply going on a date with my friend.” he looked at me a moment than spoke “You seem a little dressed up for a date with your so called friend.” I looked down at my lovely dress and saw nothing wrong with it was simply okay. He laughed at me I threw a stick at him he laughed and sat down with me. “Who is it?” I looked at him then said, “His name is Justin Justin Jefferson.” Duncan mocked “Pony Boy.” I thought you had better taste then that Courtney Geez.” he laughed on and on and held his face to keep from choking I waited till he was done with his some what funny joke. Then a voice came from behind me “ I don't think it's that funny.” it was Justin he walked out of his shadow and turned to face me he took my hand kissed it and gave me a red rose Duncan sat back rolling his eyes. Justin took my hand and led me to the movies he looked rather dazzling his hair with gel a tux and a tie he looked really handsome not hot like Taylor Laughter but,Hugh Jack man handsome it was nice the movie was great one of my favorites I always liked Jacob more than Edward personally. I stepped out and we sat down and talked “ I really had fun Justin we should do this again sometime.” he was happy I could tell “You know Courtney your gorgeous right, flawless just amazing.” covered my face in embarrassment he took my hand from my face and kissed me too hard too fast to much at one time my eyes open wider than ever and me trying to get him away from me when he finally gave up I ran away and he was right behind me calling my name he grabbed my shoulder and told me he was sorry I tried to walk away but his grip was strong he tried very hard to get me to listen. When out of no where Duncan comes faster than lightning and punches Justin right in the nose Justin was trying to fight back but Duncan was too strong too clever. Before I knew it Justin was flat on his back with a busted nose and Duncan picking me up from the cold hard floor he looked at me. “ What did he do to you? I stared at his muscles enlarge I answered “He kissed me hard and I tried to run away and he grabbed me and tried to get me to forgive him but hurt me.” My words were weak I could feel every muscle give up and then I fainted.
Chapter:8 To Be Aware
     It wasn't morning when I woke up the stars were still shining above me all I saw were two large hands at my hair I kinda flinched and freaked him out. Soon I was standing up he looked down embarrassed. “Thanks,Duncan for saving me back there (even though I could have handled it myself).” he looked up and didn't smile but nodded his head yes. I sat back down next door to him I was kinda nervous around him like when your around your crush. He took my hand held it close to his face he sighed and began to speak “Do you like me?” I sat confused like where did that come from but I answered anyway. “Yes.” he seemed pretty pleased with that answer. He smiled “ I like you too.” .” He had lay his hefty arm across the back of the bench I leaned my head into his neck and before I knew it I was blabbering off to him and he was making me laugh talking about our old schools and worst things that had ever happen he was so cool he had a swing to his talk and I had a sweetness in mine we seemed to go on and on what felt like minutes turned into hours. I finally called it a night it was to late to go home so I took my coat off and lay across his lap and bench he kissed me on the forehead in a soft comfortable way I lay there and thought “Oh no Trent!” and then closed my eyes.
The next morning I was still on Duncan's lap and he was wide awake almost as if he didn't even sleep I slowly got up and rubbed my head I panicked “My clothes it's school!” I looked around frantic and then a hand pushed me to sit down “ It's alright babe here's your clothes and it's Sunday no worry.” I relaxed and sighed in deep relief. He smiled “ You had quite a night between mean guys kissing you,you kissing hot guys, and sleeping on a park bench again.” I opened my eyes wide “I didn't kiss you,you kissed me I said unsure.” he nodded his head and said “you know when I said kissing hot guys you assumed me anyway, no after you had told me about being a shape shifter and I telling you I was too. you kissed me dead on the lips for like a minute or two.” I totally freaked out “what? Okay what kind of animal am I?” he thought a second and then answered “your a phoenix and I am a lion.” he seemed at ease with the whole thing I couldn't believe I spilled my secret so easily. There was a long silence no sounds I sat down and sighed I closed my eyes and breathed somehow it felt like 50 pounds rose off my shoulders and the sun shined brighter. “Courtney?” I looked at him and answered “yes?” he looked at the bird with it's chicks “ You love that Trent kid right?” I frowned and thought about it then I came to my conclusion “Love as a brother.” I lied he seemed to know I was lying “Yeah cause everybody kisses there brother on the lips!” I clenched my teeth together real tight. “You saw that huh?” I said stupidly “Everybody on the whole campus saw it babe including that Justin kid.” he cracked his knuckles real loud and sat back and tapped his feet “What's wrong?” he rolled his eyes and turned to face me his face tight and body enlarging then he spoke “babe I know you don't remember that kiss but it was pretty amazing.” I smiled and he did too. “So,me or him.” I was a little confused then I said “You can't make me pick Duncan it's a little more difficult than that.” he looked pretty puzzled “How?” I started trying to explain this the easiest way I could “Duncan imagine if you liked two girls and you had to pick one it would be a little hard.” I guess he got the point I was a too tired to explain that to him again “So what you want to do, the answer will always be yes unless no is required.” I couldn't argue with that I didn't really know how to. “You want to go eat breakfast?”he said“Now how in the world do you have money for that?” “ I catch fish for the local fisherman and he buys them from me.” I was pretty impressed I took his hand and walked to our local Restaurant Mini Moonlight's I knew a lady by the name of Donna who owns it she was like a mother to me when I was younger I go to visit her every once in a while. We arrived to it and Duncan was the man of this place like he had gone here everyday since he could walk. I sat down at the rounded blue table the menu was huge I looked at the clock and it was 1:30 pm so I flipped the page to lunch I wanted the fish and so did Duncan then I saw something I wish I didn't Trent was at the other table I hid my face behind the menu “Does my breath stink?” Duncan said “No,look behind you!” he looked “Oh,crap want to make a run for it?” “No I'm starving.” he laughed quietly hiding really didn't do much Trent spotted me and walked over “Hi,GG”he said dully “And who are you?” “I'm Duncan Courtney's boyfriend.” the look on Trent's face grew dark and fierce Trent stormed out the door I followed and so did Duncan we followed him into the woods where I saw a feathered beauty it was not just any bird it was brown and had eyes that could cut straight into your soul it screeched out a loud sound it was not a cry of sadness it was a cry of war Duncan understood perfectly and turned to his giant golden maned cat with a roar louder than a trains whistle they circled around and around with teeth clenched and feathers ruffled I only had one choice to get right into the action and risk my secret with Trent but it was what I had to do. I felt a power over all and flew straight into the air my orange red feathers stretched far out a mile long my eyes perfectly on it's target before I could reach them Duncan charged and had Trent on his back Trent pecked for the eyes and got to his feet he flew straight for the air and was trying to get Duncan from the behind until I swooped down and got in between them. Duncan didn't let his guard down Trent stood calmly. I started to speak “This doesn't and won't solve anything it just makes things worse if you want to hurt each other you'll have to go through me got it.” they both agreed they changed back into human form Trent came to me and started to talk “ I heard what happen to Justin it was rather exciting news I don't like him as you know.” I grinned relived he wasn't mad at me. “Trent, I like BOTH of you.” he didn't really seem surprised more disappointed than anything “Thanks for telling me and trusting I'd be okay with it which I'm not but if it's what you want than-so be it. I kissed him on the lips and went to tell Duncan. “Hey so what did hawk man say?” “He said that liking both you and him is okay with him.” Duncan smiled,he picked me up in the air and spun me around then Duncan's face turned into a frown he set me down and turned around there was a woman there standing staring at me and Duncan he took my waist and held me close beside him. Before I knew it she was standing in front of us. She smiled at me that dark smile she had short black hair with purple streaks she was tall but thin and light skinned then she began to speak “Quite a show you shape shifters are pretty funny,let me ask you two guys something you like this girl?” they turned to me smiled and both said “Very!” I smiled. The woman started to speak again “Wow, are you guys in for some trouble.” We all frowned. “Oh, excuse me my name is Charlotte/bat you guys don't know what Shape shifters are suppose to do?” we all shrugged our shoulders “She frowned and explained “There are 10 shape shifters and only one or two are suppose to be left, if there are two it must be a girl and a boy and they must be married when they turn 18 or older if there is one than that's it one shape shifter left.” Duncan seemed confused so he said, “What if we choose not to kill each other?”she spoke again “Than we kill you people off randomly ladies first.” she smiled darkly Trent glared at her and Duncans muscles tighten. Trent managed to speak “How long do we have?” she smiled “Until the girl's 18th birthday. See you in five years December 4th four o' clock.”she flew away on her batty wings far into the air I knelt down and cried.
Chapter:9 Choices
     The rain poured gently on the hut the water made it glimmer with the suns reflection. It was a little warm Florida weather it didn't bother me so much as it did Duncan he'd flinch every time a drop of water hit him it was funny and some what cute I'd try not to laugh so hard it made him mad, I even saw Trent laugh a couple of times. Both Trent and Duncan didn't hate each other they were pretty decent together not like Jacob and Edward arch enemies,they talked and sometimes even laughed Trent wasn't worried so much about Duncan it's Justin he had to get his hands on. I rather not think about that jerk I had my own problems to deal with like picking who I was bound to marry it was weird thinking about marriage so young but I had no choice at this point. I had so much on my mind I think it would have exploded times like this I wish I had someone to talk to someone who I didn’t have feelings for like a mother or best friend funny thing is I had neither of those things. I felt a tap on my shoulder I flinched I had no idea I was asleep “GG it's time for school.” I heard a soft voice say I got to my feet and headed toward the door. “where going to be a little late cause Duncan here wanted to wait till the rain stopped. “Oh, don't get your feathers in a bunch.” Duncan teased. I stood in between them and held and walked hand in hand. It was so weird just two weeks ago I was a lone bird and now I'm with two of my kind that I might have to-kill the word was not my favorites in fact that word should be band from the English language. We finally arrived at the school I saw a boy come close I didn't notice him at first he had a bandage over his nose and his hair was in his face his teeth clenched and his fist balled Trent and Duncan took precautions they both stood next to me than the boy pushed his hair out of his eyes and it was only one person JUSTIN!!! Justin smiled a dark gruesome smile he took a silver dagger from his pants and was aiming for Trent and Duncans hearts they both dodged but got stabbed in the arms I cried out as loud as I could “You SNAKE!” this didn't seem to stop them one bit Justin noticed and ran for his life the rain blinded me I was fast but not fast enough to catch up with Trent and Duncan. Then I saw something worse than my eyes could handle a slithery beast come out of Justin it had two sharp teeth and scales all over it's body it was only one thing a Snake! Trent, Duncan, and I changed not two seconds after he did. Trent found this as a opportunity of a life time. He swooped down his claws open and ready to pick up the rotten snake Duncan backed down it was Trent's turn to kick the crap out of Justin. Trent had Justin pinned his claws digging deep into Justin scaly skin he hissed loud and painfully I let my gut take the best of me “STOP!!!!” Trent didn't let go just stopped “let him go he's not worth it.” Trent narrowed his eye brows 'We have to kill some Shape shifters anyway!” I saw his point but still said, “No it's not right two wrongs do not make a right I rather get killed than kill.” I said strongly. All three of there faces looked pained but I held my head high stuck to my words. Trent was furious “So I'm going to lose you cause your afraid to fight back!” Duncan stuck himself into the conversation “Babe come on we have him one less person to worry about.” I looked at Justin snake face it's yellow eyes looking at me begging me for forgiveness I came to my decision I wasn't sure if it was the right one but I was going to find out I stood straight and said sternly “Let him go.” Trent breathed loud and released slowly. He didn't look at me Duncan did not either we went back to the hut Justin went home and said nothing to me. I was sick of the silence I tugged at Trent's arm he turned around “yes GG.” I looked at him and said, “your taking this too hard I'm not ready to kill and won't ever.” he seemed to be ignoring me but said, “GG you can't be afraid if you don't kill you will be and I won't let that happen and so will Duncan.” I thought hard and said, “Well what about Duncan your going to kill him off too,that day in the woods I meant what I said I like you BOTH not just you I'm sorry if you feel it should only be you but it's not and won't ever.” he also thought “GG I know and it really sucks you have to pick but there's nothing I can do.” I felt over boiled “No Trent I'm not picking will die one by one it's no fair that we live without one another you a Duncan are like brothers you guys are so great together even if like the same stinking girl I'm not going to stop that just because I want to live it's one of the most selfish things I'll ever have to do.” he finally understood he kissed me long what felt like forever. I was happy with my decision.
    It was dark that night Trent went to get some wood me and Duncan were alone he seemed to enjoy times like this he really wasn't happy about what had happen this morning he could never stay fully mad at me I cuddled up on his chest he'd sit with a thousand different things on his mind you could always tell he'd look up as if all his thoughts were written on the ceiling. I always wanted to be near Duncan he was not only my boyfriend he was my best friend we could carry a conversation till the crack of dawn. He was fearless sometimes that scared me cause one day he could get completely careless and get himself hurt or worse I didn't like to think about things like that though I wasn't going to pretend those sort of things don't happen just I could do without. He was who I could imagine myself with. Mrs. Smith it's different. He turned to me and looked at my face he smiled and kissed me on the lips it turned into a soft peck to making out I had no idea how long cause Trent walked in “Uh,here's the wood.” I felt so embarrassed. Duncan sat smiling with that pleased grin it was the first time Trent saw me kiss him so it was a little strange I think that's the first time I remembered kissing Duncan that's a little sad. Trent sat next door to me 'How did you guys meet anyway?” I was about to explain when Duncan cut in “She was sleeping on that park bench and I came up after she screamed bear and I told her my name the next day she went on a date with Justin and I beat the snot out of him for kissing MY girl.” Trent laughed at the image of Justin getting beat up. Then Duncan had something “How did you guys meet?” again Trent butt in “She found my lost skateboard and we talked and I gave her the nickname GG and Justin interrupted me telling me how her name was Courtney not GG.” Duncan also laughed. I liked this how we could all talk and get along and how it would be easier just to marry them both. As hard as it was for me to choose that's why my choice was best even though it was best just to die. Even though it means Trent and Duncan had to die for my choice I hope that Charlotte chick is happy with her discussion with us. Duncan was talking about me so I turned to him “She's definitely got a way with words.” I tried to figure out what he was talking about exactly. Trent agreed he would nod his head and say “you know it man.” It was a bit windy outside so the sound of the wind was a little spooky I'd pretend to get scared so they'd cuddle up with me but my trick was pretty stupid cause they know plenty that shape shifters don't get scared by little things like that, “Babe your a bad liar.” Duncan would say and Trent would butt in and say “ Yeah GG.” It was worth a shot.
Chapter:10RollerCoaster Ride
    It was three when I decided to get up I heard Trent laughing I looked out the hut window then I heard him shout “It's just a puddle man!”Duncan's face was furious “I'm part cat dumbo I don't like water!” It didn't interest Trent to much he saw my head poke out of the door “Hey GG look at your man now!” Duncan didn't appreciate that too much. I wasn't humored so much “Stop it Trent that's mean!” Duncan lightened up and shouted “That's MY girl!” he teased Trent didn't like that just as much as Duncan didn't like water. I started off to go walking Duncan asked if he could come I said “NO.” he understood walking was my way of getting away from the world it might of worked it sure got my mind off of things. The thing is I never had a special route so I'd end up anywhere my feet took me. the rocky path looked long I took that path it was vacant not a animal in sight which was strange I looked down at my dirty converse the mud was getting stickier and stickier I tried to walk back but was stuck in the mud “Oh great just perfect.” I shouted there was a bear heading my way I hated bears they scared me more than anything I've ever seen and it was coming for me I was about to shift when I saw a small silhouette in the woods I squinted to see “another bear, no a person! it turned toward me. It stepped out of the shadow and it was a boy 13 maybe he had light brown hair and hazel eyes like gems he came toward me and now I couldn't shift I acted like a damsel in distress he said, “Stay calm I'll get you out of this.” he said softly I couldn't help but to stare he seemed to notice I wasn't worried anymore so I shouted “Look it's coming!” he seemed to move faster I was finally out of the mud he picked me up which was weird cause I was perfectly fine but I didn't tell him that. He looked at me and said “I'm Alejandro,you are?” I felt like I was asked this question a million times but I said, “Courtney.” he nodded his head. We finally arrived at my destination I saw Duncan and Trent so I jumped out of arms I turned and said quickly and quietly “thanks.” but that didn't satisfy Duncan too much Duncan grabbed his shoulder and spun him around “Who are you pretty boy?” Alejandro was not very happy with the greeting Trent saw his chance “Duncan it looks like this PUNK is messing with our girl.” Duncans knuckles cracked loud. Alejandro wasn't backing down from a fight I hope he knew what he was dealing with. I stepped right in the action for the hundredth time “ It's okay he saved my life.” I lied it wasn't completely a lie he did before I could shift. Duncan's face was weak a tear looked like it was about to shed Trent frowned like he had 50 pounds on his lips one on each corner. I breathed heavy and walked toward them Alejandro snickered, “you both are dating her at the same time.” Trent stood with a dark look In his eyes “You got a problem with that punk!” he snickered “I thought not” he turned back to me and kissed me with every emotion that he felt it was long Duncan had enough “ Trent.” he said lightly then he spoke again “Trent!” he still wasn't stopping “Trent let her breath!!!” He finally got the message he let go I panted gasping for air. Alejandro laughed “That bear would have done less damage to her than you did.” Duncan had enough he spoke “If you didn't save her life your head would be ripped clean off you shoulders you got that pretty boy.” Alejandro snickered,he had an evilness to him “See you later Sweet-ems.” Duncan breathed so hard I thought he would have exploded. I was sort of surprised that Alejandro still had all his body parts I turned toward the hut and sat down next to him “Hey.” he looked deep in to my eyes and said “Your mine and always will be.” I nodded my head “I know.” he didn't kiss me like I wanted him to he just lay down and slept.
Chapter 11:Joy
    I sat down and stared at him he was so perfect his face was so quiet he didn't even snore Trent went out and left me here with Duncan I wasn't tired but I thought about sleeping I was so happy all the time with Duncan he made me smile and gave me the biggest butterfly's I'd ever had I liked it. It showed how much I liked him and will always for as long as I live he was my Superman and I was his like he had said I felt so lucky only if he knew how much I liked him I rubbed his big hand he was resting on me he was calm talk about taking a cat nap I sighed and moved up a little Duncan flinched and looked around “How long was I out?” I looked at my imaginary watch and thought “About 3 days.” he panicked “For real?” I laughed and said, “No silly only 15 minutes.” he smiled. “You know you nearly gave me a heart attack.” I chuckled he took the back of my head and pushed it slowly into his soft lips the kiss didn't last long cause Trent walked in again he looked at us and said, “I'm beginning to think you guys do this to bother me.” Duncan said, “Then give us a few hours.” I opened my eyes wide and elbowed him in the chest he choked and laughed “What?” I rolled my eyes Trent did too. Trent decided to speak, “I don't kiss her in front of you do I?” Duncan took a second to answer “Yes, today with pretty boy you didn't let her breath.” Trent clenched his teeth together “Oh, Yeah whoops.” I laughed at his embarrassment. I walked out of the hut they did too. “Can we all do something I'm not going back to school not with- Justin.” I said slowly Trent seemed happy that I hated Justin I didn't like hating people but how can you like someone who does that type of crap. Duncan looked at me and put his hands on his hips. “So what you got in mind?” “I don't know your the guy figure it out!” he laughed at my comment Trent didn’t seem up to the occasion I guess he wanted to do something else so I saved him from explaining “Trent if you don’t want to go you do not have to.” I explained he smiled “Thank-you.” I knew Trent well enough to tell what he was up to, he had a lot on his mind it is a little hard to swallow future death I took Duncan’s thick arm and dragged him along with me I waved bye to Trent he did too.
    I had no idea how long it was since I had been in the city the air was full of smoke,gasoline,and the elderly my nose squinted at it’s horrible odor. Duncan turned to me he laughed “What’s wrong?” I got close to his ear and whispered “it smells like a dumpster out here how can humans handle such a smell it is sickening.” Duncan smiled, ‘Well babe the human race itself is sickening all they seem to care about is sex, money, and power not what really matters they are selfish and I am so glad I am not human all cause I look like one I hope anyone who knows I’m not human ever mistakes me for one I rather be called every bad word In every language.” I could see his point from my experience I saw lots of good and bad in people not everyone was the same and as much as I hated to think of it Duncan was stereotyping I found it a little insulting “Duncan you shouldn’t stereotype cause everyone is different there is a good and bad in everyone we just have to accept them for who they are.” He nodded slowly I think I had gotten my point through to him. I could feel his fingers intertwine with mine his palm touching mine so tightly my palm start to sweat but I sort of liked it we stopped at a large white building with the letters engraved M.A.L.L when we walked in hundreds and hundreds of people walking in and out fast and slow all over the place I was distracted with all the people around me I lost Duncan in the crowd I looked around frantic I could not find him I walked toward the exit when I bumped into a person I stepped back “Justin?” he smiled “Hi.” I frowned disgustedly “You need to stay away from me because I’ll tell Trent and I will hurt you!” I threatened he snickered “I’m not scared of Trent you a little but not Mr. Blond hair blue eyes.” I turned to look for Duncan I could feel him walking behind me “I don’t know why your following me because I’m going to see Trent.” I lied he walked in front of me causing me to stop I rolled my eyes “you’re not going to see Trent you’re here with Duncan but you lost him in the crowd.’ I tried to say no but he looked at me telling me that lying to him was useless I didn’t say anything so I didn’t have to admit he was right because I couldn’t stand to be around his snake self. I kept on hoping Duncan would come and rescue me from this hell on earth or in other words Justin. He stared at me not in a disgusted way more like he couldn’t wait till I was his which was NEVER going to happen I was way out of his league on a scale from 1-10 I was a 8 or 9 and he was a 0 or maybe 1. “So Courtney how about you and me on a date like old times?” I breathed ‘Justin I would say yes if you’d stop being jealous keep your tongue in your mouth and keep from stabbing people you sick jerk then you would have a date you idiot!” he just smiled smugly and that got me real ticked off I bit my lip and stormed off I made it pretty far but I guess he was behind me the whole time he grabbed my arm I spun around and glared at him, only it was not Justin it was Alejandro I jerked my arm from his grip. He half smiled nervously I was ready to find Duncan but I couldn’t just ditch him I had to tell him I had to do something very important. I smiled weakly “sorry Alejandro but I have to find my boyfriend so I um guess I’ll talk to you… soon.” I smiled weakly again he tried to too but he just frowned “Okay Courtney but I just wanted to know what time it was.” He said unsurely I knew he was lying I was an expert when it came to liars but the funny thing is I was a terrible liar I just smiled looked at the clock “3:30.” I said he smiled “Thanks.” I walked off now the hard part finding Duncan I thought to myself I could feel two large arms hugged tightly around my waist from behind. I could feel a warm breath run over the top of my ear I giggled knowing exactly who it was the hot breath again “Hello gorgeous your boyfriend must be looking everywhere for you.” I turned “yes he is but I think he found me.” I winked at Duncan he took my hand and we walked home.
Chapter 12:The Ugly Truth
“So let me get this straight you saw Justin.” I nodded “I wish he would leave me alone he is so obsessed.” He laughed “well do you blame her your smoking HOT!” he went to kiss me but I dodged “Down boy.” He chuckled and kissed my cheek I blushed I walked in the hut I looked around to my surprise Trent was nowhere to be found I scanned the room still no sign of Trent i frowned and walked out i shrugged my shoulders he rubbed his chin "Babe i'm sorry i'd like to help you find him but i'm real tired i'm going to catch a few Z's." he head off into the hut i stood in the middle of that feild wondering exactly wher i'd found him
Trent was in the most obvious place right on the stair case of the school where we first met he sat his hands on his face and perfectly still i walked up to him slowly and tapped his shoulder lightly he flinched and looked up at me he didn't smile like i was expecting but i excepted it and sat dowm next to him he took my hand in his and gently rubbed my palm with his thumb he sighed and began to speak "GG I'm not up to the whole dieing at 18 thing you know i want you to marry ME." i jerked my hand from his "You want to know what Trent i'm sick and tired of you assuming that i'll just pick you! what about Duncan huh?!" he stood up too "What about him!" I grunted and tried to keep from getting overheated "I love him that's what okay!!!" i didn't notice how loud i had said it he breathed i could see that really hurt him but at this point i could sort of cared less "You know what GG you win i love you more then i loved Valerie Duncan might be strong,funny,and in a girls oppinion hot but i would do anything in my abbility to make you happy but you are to STUPID to realize that fine go run off to Duncan i don't care!"
I couldn't hold it all at once the pain was worse than anything that i had ever experienced i let the tears run down my cheeks and the ache in my heart sit "I HATE YOU!!!!" i ran off my hands covering my face and let the cold air pass in front of me. Leaving what i had thought was the love of my life.

    My head was spinning and eyes barely open and I knew it was Monday.
I slowly lifted my head and managed to get to my feet,I ran my hands through my curly Reddish-brown hair filled with dirt and knots my hands filthy. I looked around the forest the sun barely risen over the trees like a hint of yellow over a black wall. I dipped my hands in the cold creek and gently rubbed it over my face. It somehow burned on my Caramel skin.    
    Something about today was out of the ordinary, something I couldn't put my finger on. It somehow bothered me but it didn't keep me from going to school I don't think anything kept me from going to that middle school. Only if something new would happen something exciting an adventure. Funny,me looking for excitement my life's been nothing but adventure,Reason why well ledgend tells mt mom was from way back she was not any ordinary person she was a large red bird with the will to fly and feathers like fire as you can probably guess she was part Pheonix like me crazy right all I know is that there were 10 Shape shifters remaining i have no absouloute background knowledge on the subject so in other words i'm screwed I guess i just wasn't meant to know aparently my mom wasn't a good guy and i have like a curse what ever the curse maybe if Pennsylvania isn't cursed.
I slowly read the words on the tall building that read George Cooper Middle School. I took baby steps than started walking faster,that's when I saw
Justin Jefferson he wasn't familiar at first his shaggy jet black hair was in his dark green eyes that were like two leafs in the sun. I soon notice I was staring and quickly head to homeroom. Ms. Brinkley stood with her arms folded and that disappointed frown across her wrinkled lips. I tried to walk past her when she grabbed my shoulder and swung me three steps backward I simply sighed and answer “Yes,ma'am”.she took a moment to respond she sighed and asked “Courtney why you always in such a hurry to get in class? and why do you not say Good-Morning to your dear sweet Ms. Brinkley? and also why haven't I met your parents it's almost like you have none”?It felt like she just kept asking questions I didn't answer at first then she gave me a stern look insisting I answer her soon I bit my lip and was thinking of a good reason then I choked out “The reason why is my parents think conferences are for bad children I tried to tell them different but they simply won't listen and besides that would be talking back and also I rush to class cause I don't own a watch and always assume I'm late and I'm dearly sorry I haven't said Good-Morning now if you excuse me I'll be heading to class.”I smiled and hugged my books against my chest and had a kick in my step. Is this what was so different about today or was it that Justin kid I saw in the hallway? Who knew?
Chapter:2 Butterfly's
I felt a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach little specks fluttering in my stomach and me always forgetting what I was doing every time I saw Justin he somehow always managed to put a wide grin on my face. Its funny how just the sight of a person could bring such big emotions to the heart. I walked to the lunch table a little faster than usual suddenly “Crash!” I fell right on my back unsure of what just happen I looked around frantic all I saw was about 5?,10?,maybe 15? all I know is there are a bunch of strange people around me that I barely knew but one stuck out the green eyes digging deep in my soul seeping into me like water in a sponge. I soon opened my eyes wider to show I was awake I wasn't hurt but all the attention was nice. He finally saw I was alive and smiled, ”She’s alright no harm done!” then he helped me up I dusted myself off he put out his big hand and said, “Hi, I'm Justin. I shook his desperate hand and pulled the hair from my face he stopped and look down at my hand still in his grip he pulled away nervously and asked, “And you are?” I was confused “my what?” “Your name, you do have a name right?” I felt so stupid “oh its Courtney” “Pretty name I like it.” I put my head down and smiled at the compliment I just received he seemed to notice I was smiling but it didn't bother me then I asked, “Are you new here.”
he smiled and said “Yeah.” then I notice where in the middle of a lunchroom with no lunch I started walking back to the lunch line when I could hear him moving slowly behind me it was a little uncomfortable so I walked slower so we were walking side by side I could almost swear he was reaching for my hand but I think I bumped my head a little too hard then I remembered I'm half phoenix it didn't hurt at all when I fell. Soon I had reached the lunch line we talked about our hopes and dreams even though when I asked about his home and family he stopped and changed the subject I rather not ask it must be tough for him. This day was the absolute best I could not think of anything that could ruin it,or could it? I walked out of the school with a smile on my face when I met Trent Richardson.
Chapter:3 The Big Picture
    “Hey! You found it I've been looking everywhere for it” I looked down and there was a skateboard right in front of me to think I would have tripped over it and fell again I turned around and there was a dirty blond blue-eyed light skinned boy waving over the crowd I bent down and picked up the flaming print on the back of the board suddenly in a flash he was right behind me. “Thank-you so much girl, I thought I had lost it for good.” “your welcome.” I said. “I'm Trent you?”i thought a moment then said, “Courtney.” he was very handsome seemed to be very outgoing and very athletic for a minute I almost forgot about Justin I broke the silence with a simple but good question “So,you like to skateboard.”he took a minute “Yeah, its fun I like the wind in my hair it feels good almost like flying you know, like the hawk so graceful and strong.”
    I liked the way he had such a great truthful answer to my question. “Do you?”he asked I felt embarrassed that I had no good answer like he did I frowned and nodded my head no. “For real, than you haven't lived GG.” I stopped and tilted my head “GG?” he spoke with a huge grin“Yeah I like that it fits you, you seem pretty cool.” I smiled it was nice knowing I already had a cute nickname GG,I liked the way it past through my lips suddenly I heard a voice behind my head “It's Courtney you monkey”said the voice suddenly I notice it was Justin. Trent simply looked at him with a small amount of emotion “It's my nickname for her you hippo.” The animal name calling was a little unnecessary. I soon broke-up the mean conversation they turned to me and both said, “Sorry!” they glared at each other and they both said good-bye. That night I thought of Trent and Justin and couldn't understand why they were fighting I wonder?
On the way home I just could not keep from asking questions like, Trent and Justin were both sweet cool guys who were very nice why would there be any tension between them how strange? Maybe it was a rival from years ago that hasn't gone away, but what could possibly be that bad that they have to call each other mean harsh names or be over protective of a girl you barely know so many questions was I ever going to get an answer? I kept walking thinking of all the possibilities it racked my brain to the point where I had a slight headache but I couldn't stop it, it was like smoking. I finally arrived at my little hut at the edge of my pretty creek I looked at my little hut completely made of weaved grass its cone shaped roof with its rounded bottom and dirt floor. I stepped in slowly and looked around it took me only four months to create my house. I wasn't worried about storms or severe weather on occasions like that I simply go to the abandon warehouse down the street. It was rather cozy in there I sat down on the small cotton bean-bag (I had found at the warehouse it was soft and big enough for me.) Times like this I'd change into my phoenix form and fly, just fly like Trent explained, like on a skateboard I smiled at the memory his passion for Hawks seemed pretty strong. The sun seemed to be darker today though there was not one cloud in sight I guess today just felt dull even though I had a quite nice day a really nice day.
Chapter 4:Soap Opera
The next morning I felt different lighter, prettier,happier. These feelings pulled the corners of my mouth in an upward movement. I walked to school waiting to talk to Justin and Trent this thought seemed to make me walk faster. When I stepped in the building Justin was sitting right next door to my desk he smiled watching me till I sat down I put down my books and pulled back my hair it looked like he was fixing to say something but didn't. I finally spoke “So what you do yesterday?” he shrugged his shoulders and had a goofy look on his face I chuckled. He finally spoke “I went to my house and just chilled.” I looked at him for few seconds. I found this as a good opportunity to ask my mystery question “Whats up with you and Trent?”he seemed shocked at my question “Well you see me and Sh- him we fell in love with a girl by the name of Valerie and he well stole her from me and I just can't forgive him after that.” “Then what happen?” I said slowly he looked up with a pain in his face “She well--- died.”his voice broke. I couldn't believe what I just heard. “She died?” he looked at me with a look I hadn't seen before “YES!!!” he screamed at me. I backed a way. He didn't seem to care how I was feeling. He finally managed to speak “I'm so Sorry I didn't mean to get mad just bad memory,she died from a bad seizure it was hard for me and him but the hardest part is I didn't get to say good-bye.” I gave my sympathy to him he deserved it poor guy. By the end of 2nd period I was hungry then I saw Trent in the hall way “Hey,GG!” I waved at him and walked on. He ran in front of me and blocked me “Where you going in such a hurry?” I stuttered looking for an answer I began to speak not knowing what I was trying to say “Well, I am uh uh-” I stopped.”whats wrong” he asked “Valerie.” I whispered “You Know!!!”he yelled his chest seemed to get bigger his face red like a firetruck. He broke down to the floor and held his head in his arms he seemed to sob but wasn't I walked around him and knelt down beside him and rubbed his hard back he soon got out of his stance and sat down to face me “I'm so sorry.” I said. “Don't be you didn't know I'd act this way, I just loved her so much and that Monster stole her from me!” I was confused “What, I thought you stole her from him?” he looked up at me “Is that what he told you?” I nodded my head. He smirked “That Jerk.”He got up and he put his arm around me it wasn't weird like you would think he needed a friend,we walked to the lunchroom and sat down he didn't seem mad any more, matter of fact if you weren't there you'd think nothing happened “So I was thinking that after school I'd show you how to ride a skateboard.” I smiled and thought about it “Wouldn't your parents wonder where you were?”he smiled “Nah!” he laughed softly “So will you?” he put his hands in a praying gesture and put it under his chin and puckered his lips and begged I smiled and said,”Why Not.” he smiled and was pleased. I was pleased too I'd finally have something to do.
Chapter:5 Fly
    “Okay,now what I want you to do is stand carefully on the board and keep your balance.” I stood on the board gently and spread my arms apart and stared at Trent waiting for him to tell me what else to do. “Now,take your right or left foot and kick you forward then when you got enough power lift up your foot that your kicking with up and glide and steer with your body got it.” I nodded my head to let him know I was ready. I took my foot and kicked me forward I was going at a steady pace and “VROOM!”there I went he was right it did feel like flying I spread my arms and “CRASH!!!”
    I opened my eyes slowly all I saw was a blue sky with little clouds. All I heard was “GG!”,”GG”,”GG you there!” He saw my eyes slightly open he smiled and took my head and jammed it into his chest I could hear his heart beating Oh So fast like drum beats he took my head out from his grip and kissed me right on the cheek. He seemed to notice the shock in my face and went on “I was so worried no more skateboard rides for you not ever!” I didn't argue I knew he was right. I stood up and dusted myself off he swallowed “ I can't believe it I nearly got you killed I feel so stupid I gotta go!” he stormed off “Trent! Wait up where you going? It wasn't your fault!” he turned around I stepped forward he did too. “ I know this might sound crazy but GG I-” he paused “What?” “Never mind!” I took his hands in mine he didn't look at me he just kept looking down I took his
chin in my grasp so he would look at me his eyes soft like a lonely puppy. We looked at each other for what felt like hours but I sorta enjoyed it. I sat down on the park bench I patted the seat beside me he sat and waited for me to talk “Trent you don't have parents do you?” his face was defiant but noticed this battle to argue with me failed “No.” he said with a sigh “Me either” I said. I said no more about the subject I guess we both knew this didn't make our relationship any more awkward but stronger. He leaned back and relaxed “One good thing came out of having no parents.” I let the words scan through my brain “What is that?” he turned to face me surprised he took my hands“Spending more time with you.” It was bitter sweet I liked it he seemed pretty pleased with himself. “You know we've known each other only two days but it feels like forever.”I said, he thought about it and said “Weird. You know GG your actually really cute.” I blushed. He seemed to notice and went on. “So you must have a thing for me huh?” I stopped and said, “Maybe.” I was surprised about how easily the words passed through my lips he had that smile that smile I loved more than anything it shows the real softy in him mushy like a marshmallow. We talked for hours and hours at a time before I knew it it was sundown I rested my head softly on his lap and passed out.
    Chapter:6 Lions and
Tigers and Bears Oh My!!!
    I saw the sun creep over the trees slowly I sat up on the hard wood bench “Trent?, Trent?” he was nowhere in sight. I looked around nothing how strange where did he go? Then I saw a huge black silhouette it came closer “BEAR!!!” I almost got up when a young man was sitting right beside me “I'm Duncan.” he stood there with a non-nervous expression. I somehow manage to tell him who I was “Courtney.” he looked at me with a smile, all I kept thinking was man he's HOT! All he said was “I wouldn't worry too much about those bears completely harmless.” I was a bit confused “how do you know?” he looked at me “Babe I've studied those bears long enough.” his voice was also hot I got up and started off to school he yelled after me “Courtney!” I stopped in my tracks and turned around “Yes, guy I barely know.” he stood chuckling he was pretty buff for 13,”Where you going?” I looked at him with a smug look “School is appropriate for my age.” he smiled and asked “which one!” “Cooper” he smiled real wide “Me too.” I waited for him to catch up with me “hey,let me ask you something what are you doing sleeping on a park bench anyway.” I tried to remember what in the world I was doing. “I was talking with my friend and I fell asleep.” “Oh.” We made it to school within minutes I said bye and left. Trent was there all he said was “Who's that?” “Oh that's Duncan I met him in the park,Where did you go? He didn't seem concerned with my question only who Duncan was. But,he answered anyway “I had to get some new clothes on.” “Um, Trent can I ask you something?” he looked at me then said, “You can tell me anything.” “Well what was that kiss about when you found out I was alive after the skateboard incident.” he waited a long time before he answered, “because GG I really like you.” I was pretty stunned I tried to act like nothing just happened but it dug deep into my soul I tried to speak but nothing came out I tried to walk away but my feet were glued to the floor I tried to tell him how I felt but the words spoken clenched deep in my animal heart. I wanted to tell him he was crazy, how no two people can like each other so quickly I wanted to but I even knew that was a lie. He stood staring at me like I was the most beautiful thing in the universe all I could think of was things like “say something you dummy, he's likes YOU, don’t just stand there.” it was a miracle I felt the air in my lungs and I spoke the two words that I felt in my heart. “Me too.” he smiled wider than any person ever should. Right before I could think I was being kissed by the most gorgeous boy in Cooper middle school the sweetest guy on the planet and the love of my life or so I thought.
Chapter:7 Just the Beginning
    He finally let go of my lips and stopped the most amazing moment of my life. This is the part where you think “and they lived happily ever after or That's all folks” I wish, unfortunately this is only the beginning. If this was the end you'd be thinking what about Justin or Duncan like I said it just started. Any way Trent and I walked hand in hand fingers laced down in the hallway it all seemed fine till I saw Justin. His face was pained like somebody stabbed him in the gut it was so bad it burned me I couldn't help but feel sorrow. Trent made me look away and I held my head high and walked on. I told him good-bye and head to homeroom. At my surprise Justin was right next door to my seat he had no pain in his face just a sweet smile. I smiled too to let him know I was fine. I sat and put my books away he touched my hand and said, “How are you?” I looked at him with my odd confused face but I couldn't break his sweet smile. I finally spoke “Good.” he spoke again, “ I really was hoping you'd come with me to the movies and see Twilight.” I felt bad for him so at my astonishment I said, “Yes.” he smiled and went back to his homework that was incomplete. I walked out of homeroom and saw Duncan “ Hi, your the pretty girl from the park the one afraid of bears,uh Courtney.” I smiled and asked him what he was up to he was very funny joked and made me laugh a lot he had a swing to his step we spent most of Geometry together it was to my liking.
    Saturday came and I got dressed to go see Twilight with Justin I put on my lavender flower dress it flowed down to the knee I had no time to fix my hair so I head out toward the park where he said he meet me. I sat on the bench and waited for his arrival I saw a shadow in the bush it was a little bigger than Justin it was Duncan “Are you following me?” he asked “No I am not following you I'm simply going on a date with my friend.” he looked at me a moment than spoke “You seem a little dressed up for a date with your so called friend.” I looked down at my lovely dress and saw nothing wrong with it was simply okay. He laughed at me I threw a stick at him he laughed and sat down with me. “Who is it?” I looked at him then said, “His name is Justin Justin Jefferson.” Duncan mocked “Pony Boy.” I thought you had better taste then that Courtney Geez.” he laughed on and on and held his face to keep from choking I waited till he was done with his some what funny joke. Then a voice came from behind me “ I don't think it's that funny.” it was Justin he walked out of his shadow and turned to face me he took my hand kissed it and gave me a red rose Duncan sat back rolling his eyes. Justin took my hand and led me to the movies he looked rather dazzling his hair with gel a tux and a tie he looked really handsome not hot like Taylor Laughter but,Hugh Jack man handsome it was nice the movie was great one of my favorites I always liked Jacob more than Edward personally. I stepped out and we sat down and talked “ I really had fun Justin we should do this again sometime.” he was happy I could tell “You know Courtney your gorgeous right, flawless just amazing.” covered my face in embarrassment he took my hand from my face and kissed me too hard too fast to much at one time my eyes open wider than ever and me trying to get him away from me when he finally gave up I ran away and he was right behind me calling my name he grabbed my shoulder and told me he was sorry I tried to walk away but his grip was strong he tried very hard to get me to listen. When out of no where Duncan comes faster than lightning and punches Justin right in the nose Justin was trying to fight back but Duncan was too strong too clever. Before I knew it Justin was flat on his back with a busted nose and Duncan picking me up from the cold hard floor he looked at me. “ What did he do to you? I stared at his muscles enlarge I answered “He kissed me hard and I tried to run away and he grabbed me and tried to get me to forgive him but hurt me.” My words were weak I could feel every muscle give up and then I fainted.
Chapter:8 To Be Aware
     It wasn't morning when I woke up the stars were still shining above me all I saw were two large hands at my hair I kinda flinched and freaked him out. Soon I was standing up he looked down embarrassed. “Thanks,Duncan for saving me back there (even though I could have handled it myself).” he looked up and didn't smile but nodded his head yes. I sat back down next door to him I was kinda nervous around him like when your around your crush. He took my hand held it close to his face he sighed and began to speak “Do you like me?” I sat confused like where did that come from but I answered anyway. “Yes.” he seemed pretty pleased with that answer. He smiled “ I like you too.” .” He had lay his hefty arm across the back of the bench I leaned my head into his neck and before I knew it I was blabbering off to him and he was making me laugh talking about our old schools and worst things that had ever happen he was so cool he had a swing to his talk and I had a sweetness in mine we seemed to go on and on what felt like minutes turned into hours. I finally called it a night it was to late to go home so I took my coat off and lay across his lap and bench he kissed me on the forehead in a soft comfortable way I lay there and thought “Oh no Trent!” and then closed my eyes.
The next morning I was still on Duncan's lap and he was wide awake almost as if he didn't even sleep I slowly got up and rubbed my head I panicked “My clothes it's school!” I looked around frantic and then a hand pushed me to sit down “ It's alright babe here's your clothes and it's Sunday no worry.” I relaxed and sighed in deep relief. He smiled “ You had quite a night between mean guys kissing you,you kissing hot guys, and sleeping on a park bench again.” I opened my eyes wide “I didn't kiss you,you kissed me I said unsure.” he nodded his head and said “you know when I said kissing hot guys you assumed me anyway, no after you had told me about being a shape shifter and I telling you I was too. you kissed me dead on the lips for like a minute or two.” I totally freaked out “what? Okay what kind of animal am I?” he thought a second and then answered “your a phoenix and I am a lion.” he seemed at ease with the whole thing I couldn't believe I spilled my secret so easily. There was a long silence no sounds I sat down and sighed I closed my eyes and breathed somehow it felt like 50 pounds rose off my shoulders and the sun shined brighter. “Courtney?” I looked at him and answered “yes?” he looked at the bird with it's chicks “ You love that Trent kid right?” I frowned and thought about it then I came to my conclusion “Love as a brother.” I lied he seemed to know I was lying “Yeah cause everybody kisses there brother on the lips!” I clenched my teeth together real tight. “You saw that huh?” I said stupidly “Everybody on the whole campus saw it babe including that Justin kid.” he cracked his knuckles real loud and sat back and tapped his feet “What's wrong?” he rolled his eyes and turned to face me his face tight and body enlarging then he spoke “babe I know you don't remember that kiss but it was pretty amazing.” I smiled and he did too. “So,me or him.” I was a little confused then I said “You can't make me pick Duncan it's a little more difficult than that.” he looked pretty puzzled “How?” I started trying to explain this the easiest way I could “Duncan imagine if you liked two girls and you had to pick one it would be a little hard.” I guess he got the point I was a too tired to explain that to him again “So what you want to do, the answer will always be yes unless no is required.” I couldn't argue with that I didn't really know how to. “You want to go eat breakfast?”he said“Now how in the world do you have money for that?” “ I catch fish for the local fisherman and he buys them from me.” I was pretty impressed I took his hand and walked to our local Restaurant Mini Moonlight's I knew a lady by the name of Donna who owns it she was like a mother to me when I was younger I go to visit her every once in a while. We arrived to it and Duncan was the man of this place like he had gone here everyday since he could walk. I sat down at the rounded blue table the menu was huge I looked at the clock and it was 1:30 pm so I flipped the page to lunch I wanted the fish and so did Duncan then I saw something I wish I didn't Trent was at the other table I hid my face behind the menu “Does my breath stink?” Duncan said “No,look behind you!” he looked “Oh,crap want to make a run for it?” “No I'm starving.” he laughed quietly hiding really didn't do much Trent spotted me and walked over “Hi,GG”he said dully “And who are you?” “I'm Duncan Courtney's boyfriend.” the look on Trent's face grew dark and fierce Trent stormed out the door I followed and so did Duncan we followed him into the woods where I saw a feathered beauty it was not just any bird it was brown and had eyes that could cut straight into your soul it screeched out a loud sound it was not a cry of sadness it was a cry of war Duncan understood perfectly and turned to his giant golden maned cat with a roar louder than a trains whistle they circled around and around with teeth clenched and feathers ruffled I only had one choice to get right into the action and risk my secret with Trent but it was what I had to do. I felt a power over all and flew straight into the air my orange red feathers stretched far out a mile long my eyes perfectly on it's target before I could reach them Duncan charged and had Trent on his back Trent pecked for the eyes and got to his feet he flew straight for the air and was trying to get Duncan from the behind until I swooped down and got in between them. Duncan didn't let his guard down Trent stood calmly. I started to speak “This doesn't and won't solve anything it just makes things worse if you want to hurt each other you'll have to go through me got it.” they both agreed they changed back into human form Trent came to me and started to talk “ I heard what happen to Justin it was rather exciting news I don't like him as you know.” I grinned relived he wasn't mad at me. “Trent, I like BOTH of you.” he didn't really seem surprised more disappointed than anything “Thanks for telling me and trusting I'd be okay with it which I'm not but if it's what you want than-so be it. I kissed him on the lips and went to tell Duncan. “Hey so what did hawk man say?” “He said that liking both you and him is okay with him.” Duncan smiled,he picked me up in the air and spun me around then Duncan's face turned into a frown he set me down and turned around there was a woman there standing staring at me and Duncan he took my waist and held me close beside him. Before I knew it she was standing in front of us. She smiled at me that dark smile she had short black hair with purple streaks she was tall but thin and light skinned then she began to speak “Quite a show you shape shifters are pretty funny,let me ask you two guys something you like this girl?” they turned to me smiled and both said “Very!” I smiled. The woman started to speak again “Wow, are you guys in for some trouble.” We all frowned. “Oh, excuse me my name is Charlotte/bat you guys don't know what Shape shifters are suppose to do?” we all shrugged our shoulders “She frowned and explained “There are 10 shape shifters and only one or two are suppose to be left, if there are two it must be a girl and a boy and they must be married when they turn 18 or older if there is one than that's it one shape shifter left.” Duncan seemed confused so he said, “What if we choose not to kill each other?”she spoke again “Than we kill you people off randomly ladies first.” she smiled darkly Trent glared at her and Duncans muscles tighten. Trent managed to speak “How long do we have?” she smiled “Until the girl's 18th birthday. See you in five years December 4th four o' clock.”she flew away on her batty wings far into the air I knelt down and cried.
Chapter:9 Choices
     The rain poured gently on the hut the water made it glimmer with the suns reflection. It was a little warm Florida weather it didn't bother me so much as it did Duncan he'd flinch every time a drop of water hit him it was funny and some what cute I'd try not to laugh so hard it made him mad, I even saw Trent laugh a couple of times. Both Trent and Duncan didn't hate each other they were pretty decent together not like Jacob and Edward arch enemies,they talked and sometimes even laughed Trent wasn't worried so much about Duncan it's Justin he had to get his hands on. I rather not think about that jerk I had my own problems to deal with like picking who I was bound to marry it was weird thinking about marriage so young but I had no choice at this point. I had so much on my mind I think it would have exploded times like this I wish I had someone to talk to someone who I didn’t have feelings for like a mother or best friend funny thing is I had neither of those things. I felt a tap on my shoulder I flinched I had no idea I was asleep “GG it's time for school.” I heard a soft voice say I got to my feet and headed toward the door. “where going to be a little late cause Duncan here wanted to wait till the rain stopped. “Oh, don't get your feathers in a bunch.” Duncan teased. I stood in between them and held and walked hand in hand. It was so weird just two weeks ago I was a lone bird and now I'm with two of my kind that I might have to-kill the word was not my favorites in fact that word should be band from the English language. We finally arrived at the school I saw a boy come close I didn't notice him at first he had a bandage over his nose and his hair was in his face his teeth clenched and his fist balled Trent and Duncan took precautions they both stood next to me than the boy pushed his hair out of his eyes and it was only one person JUSTIN!!! Justin smiled a dark gruesome smile he took a silver dagger from his pants and was aiming for Trent and Duncans hearts they both dodged but got stabbed in the arms I cried out as loud as I could “You SNAKE!” this didn't seem to stop them one bit Justin noticed and ran for his life the rain blinded me I was fast but not fast enough to catch up with Trent and Duncan. Then I saw something worse than my eyes could handle a slithery beast come out of Justin it had two sharp teeth and scales all over it's body it was only one thing a Snake! Trent, Duncan, and I changed not two seconds after he did. Trent found this as a opportunity of a life time. He swooped down his claws open and ready to pick up the rotten snake Duncan backed down it was Trent's turn to kick the crap out of Justin. Trent had Justin pinned his claws digging deep into Justin scaly skin he hissed loud and painfully I let my gut take the best of me “STOP!!!!” Trent didn't let go just stopped “let him go he's not worth it.” Trent narrowed his eye brows 'We have to kill some Shape shifters anyway!” I saw his point but still said, “No it's not right two wrongs do not make a right I rather get killed than kill.” I said strongly. All three of there faces looked pained but I held my head high stuck to my words. Trent was furious “So I'm going to lose you cause your afraid to fight back!” Duncan stuck himself into the conversation “Babe come on we have him one less person to worry about.” I looked at Justin snake face it's yellow eyes looking at me begging me for forgiveness I came to my decision I wasn't sure if it was the right one but I was going to find out I stood straight and said sternly “Let him go.” Trent breathed loud and released slowly. He didn't look at me Duncan did not either we went back to the hut Justin went home and said nothing to me. I was sick of the silence I tugged at Trent's arm he turned around “yes GG.” I looked at him and said, “your taking this too hard I'm not ready to kill and won't ever.” he seemed to be ignoring me but said, “GG you can't be afraid if you don't kill you will be and I won't let that happen and so will Duncan.” I thought hard and said, “Well what about Duncan your going to kill him off too,that day in the woods I meant what I said I like you BOTH not just you I'm sorry if you feel it should only be you but it's not and won't ever.” he also thought “GG I know and it really sucks you have to pick but there's nothing I can do.” I felt over boiled “No Trent I'm not picking will die one by one it's no fair that we live without one another you a Duncan are like brothers you guys are so great together even if like the same stinking girl I'm not going to stop that just because I want to live it's one of the most selfish things I'll ever have to do.” he finally understood he kissed me long what felt like forever. I was happy with my decision.
    It was dark that night Trent went to get some wood me and Duncan were alone he seemed to enjoy times like this he really wasn't happy about what had happen this morning he could never stay fully mad at me I cuddled up on his chest he'd sit with a thousand different things on his mind you could always tell he'd look up as if all his thoughts were written on the ceiling. I always wanted to be near Duncan he was not only my boyfriend he was my best friend we could carry a conversation till the crack of dawn. He was fearless sometimes that scared me cause one day he could get completely careless and get himself hurt or worse I didn't like to think about things like that though I wasn't going to pretend those sort of things don't happen just I could do without. He was who I could imagine myself with. Mrs. Smith it's different. He turned to me and looked at my face he smiled and kissed me on the lips it turned into a soft peck to making out I had no idea how long cause Trent walked in “Uh,here's the wood.” I felt so embarrassed. Duncan sat smiling with that pleased grin it was the first time Trent saw me kiss him so it was a little strange I think that's the first time I remembered kissing Duncan that's a little sad. Trent sat next door to me 'How did you guys meet anyway?” I was about to explain when Duncan cut in “She was sleeping on that park bench and I came up after she screamed bear and I told her my name the next day she went on a date with Justin and I beat the snot out of him for kissing MY girl.” Trent laughed at the image of Justin getting beat up. Then Duncan had something “How did you guys meet?” again Trent butt in “She found my lost skateboard and we talked and I gave her the nickname GG and Justin interrupted me telling me how her name was Courtney not GG.” Duncan also laughed. I liked this how we could all talk and get along and how it would be easier just to marry them both. As hard as it was for me to choose that's why my choice was best even though it was best just to die. Even though it means Trent and Duncan had to die for my choice I hope that Charlotte chick is happy with her discussion with us. Duncan was talking about me so I turned to him “She's definitely got a way with words.” I tried to figure out what he was talking about exactly. Trent agreed he would nod his head and say “you know it man.” It was a bit windy outside so the sound of the wind was a little spooky I'd pretend to get scared so they'd cuddle up with me but my trick was pretty stupid cause they know plenty that shape shifters don't get scared by little things like that, “Babe your a bad liar.” Duncan would say and Trent would butt in and say “ Yeah GG.” It was worth a shot.
Chapter:10RollerCoaster Ride
    It was three when I decided to get up I heard Trent laughing I looked out the hut window then I heard him shout “It's just a puddle man!”Duncan's face was furious “I'm part cat dumbo I don't like water!” It didn't interest Trent to much he saw my head poke out of the door “Hey GG look at your man now!” Duncan didn't appreciate that too much. I wasn't humored so much “Stop it Trent that's mean!” Duncan lightened up and shouted “That's MY girl!” he teased Trent didn't like that just as much as Duncan didn't like water. I started off to go walking Duncan asked if he could come I said “NO.” he understood walking was my way of getting away from the world it might of worked it sure got my mind off of things. The thing is I never had a special route so I'd end up anywhere my feet took me. the rocky path looked long I took that path it was vacant not a animal in sight which was strange I looked down at my dirty converse the mud was getting stickier and stickier I tried to walk back but was stuck in the mud “Oh great just perfect.” I shouted there was a bear heading my way I hated bears they scared me more than anything I've ever seen and it was coming for me I was about to shift when I saw a small silhouette in the woods I squinted to see “another bear, no a person! it turned toward me. It stepped out of the shadow and it was a boy 13 maybe he had light brown hair and hazel eyes like gems he came toward me and now I couldn't shift I acted like a damsel in distress he said, “Stay calm I'll get you out of this.” he said softly I couldn't help but to stare he seemed to notice I wasn't worried anymore so I shouted “Look it's coming!” he seemed to move faster I was finally out of the mud he picked me up which was weird cause I was perfectly fine but I didn't tell him that. He looked at me and said “I'm Alejandro,you are?” I felt like I was asked this question a million times but I said, “Courtney.” he nodded his head. We finally arrived at my destination I saw Duncan and Trent so I jumped out of arms I turned and said quickly and quietly “thanks.” but that didn't satisfy Duncan too much Duncan grabbed his shoulder and spun him around “Who are you pretty boy?” Alejandro was not very happy with the greeting Trent saw his chance “Duncan it looks like this PUNK is messing with our girl.” Duncans knuckles cracked loud. Alejandro wasn't backing down from a fight I hope he knew what he was dealing with. I stepped right in the action for the hundredth time “ It's okay he saved my life.” I lied it wasn't completely a lie he did before I could shift. Duncan's face was weak a tear looked like it was about to shed Trent frowned like he had 50 pounds on his lips one on each corner. I breathed heavy and walked toward them Alejandro snickered, “you both are dating her at the same time.” Trent stood with a dark look In his eyes “You got a problem with that punk!” he snickered “I thought not” he turned back to me and kissed me with every emotion that he felt it was long Duncan had enough “ Trent.” he said lightly then he spoke again “Trent!” he still wasn't stopping “Trent let her breath!!!” He finally got the message he let go I panted gasping for air. Alejandro laughed “That bear would have done less damage to her than you did.” Duncan had enough he spoke “If you didn't save her life your head would be ripped clean off you shoulders you got that pretty boy.” Alejandro snickered,he had an evilness to him “See you later Sweet-ems.” Duncan breathed so hard I thought he would have exploded. I was sort of surprised that Alejandro still had all his body parts I turned toward the hut and sat down next to him “Hey.” he looked deep in to my eyes and said “Your mine and always will be.” I nodded my head “I know.” he didn't kiss me like I wanted him to he just lay down and slept.
Chapter 11:Joy
    I sat down and stared at him he was so perfect his face was so quiet he didn't even snore Trent went out and left me here with Duncan I wasn't tired but I thought about sleeping I was so happy all the time with Duncan he made me smile and gave me the biggest butterfly's I'd ever had I liked it. It showed how much I liked him and will always for as long as I live he was my Superman and I was his like he had said I felt so lucky only if he knew how much I liked him I rubbed his big hand he was resting on me he was calm talk about taking a cat nap I sighed and moved up a little Duncan flinched and looked around “How long was I out?” I looked at my imaginary watch and thought “About 3 days.” he panicked “For real?” I laughed and said, “No silly only 15 minutes.” he smiled. “You know you nearly gave me a heart attack.” I chuckled he took the back of my head and pushed it slowly into his soft lips the kiss didn't last long cause Trent walked in again he looked at us and said, “I'm beginning to think you guys do this to bother me.” Duncan said, “Then give us a few hours.” I opened my eyes wide and elbowed him in the chest he choked and laughed “What?” I rolled my eyes Trent did too. Trent decided to speak, “I don't kiss her in front of you do I?” Duncan took a second to answer “Yes, today with pretty boy you didn't let her breath.” Trent clenched his teeth together “Oh, Yeah whoops.” I laughed at his embarrassment. I walked out of the hut they did too. “Can we all do something I'm not going back to school not with- Justin.” I said slowly Trent seemed happy that I hated Justin I didn't like hating people but how can you like someone who does that type of crap. Duncan looked at me and put his hands on his hips. “So what you got in mind?” “I don't know your the guy figure it out!” he laughed at my comment Trent didn’t seem up to the occasion I guess he wanted to do something else so I saved him from explaining “Trent if you don’t want to go you do not have to.” I explained he smiled “Thank-you.” I knew Trent well enough to tell what he was up to, he had a lot on his mind it is a little hard to swallow future death I took Duncan’s thick arm and dragged him along with me I waved bye to Trent he did too.
    I had no idea how long it was since I had been in the city the air was full of smoke,gasoline,and the elderly my nose squinted at it’s horrible odor. Duncan turned to me he laughed “What’s wrong?” I got close to his ear and whispered “it smells like a dumpster out here how can humans handle such a smell it is sickening.” Duncan smiled, ‘Well babe the human race itself is sickening all they seem to care about is sex, money, and power not what really matters they are selfish and I am so glad I am not human all cause I look like one I hope anyone who knows I’m not human ever mistakes me for one I rather be called every bad word In every language.” I could see his point from my experience I saw lots of good and bad in people not everyone was the same and as much as I hated to think of it Duncan was stereotyping I found it a little insulting “Duncan you shouldn’t stereotype cause everyone is different there is a good and bad in everyone we just have to accept them for who they are.” He nodded slowly I think I had gotten my point through to him. I could feel his fingers intertwine with mine his palm touching mine so tightly my palm start to sweat but I sort of liked it we stopped at a large white building with the letters engraved M.A.L.L when we walked in hundreds and hundreds of people walking in and out fast and slow all over the place I was distracted with all the people around me I lost Duncan in the crowd I looked around frantic I could not find him I walked toward the exit when I bumped into a person I stepped back “Justin?” he smiled “Hi.” I frowned disgustedly “You need to stay away from me because I’ll tell Trent and I will hurt you!” I threatened he snickered “I’m not scared of Trent you a little but not Mr. Blond hair blue eyes.” I turned to look for Duncan I could feel him walking behind me “I don’t know why your following me because I’m going to see Trent.” I lied he walked in front of me causing me to stop I rolled my eyes “you’re not going to see Trent you’re here with Duncan but you lost him in the crowd.’ I tried to say no but he looked at me telling me that lying to him was useless I didn’t say anything so I didn’t have to admit he was right because I couldn’t stand to be around his snake self. I kept on hoping Duncan would come and rescue me from this hell on earth or in other words Justin. He stared at me not in a disgusted way more like he couldn’t wait till I was his which was NEVER going to happen I was way out of his league on a scale from 1-10 I was a 8 or 9 and he was a 0 or maybe 1. “So Courtney how about you and me on a date like old times?” I breathed ‘Justin I would say yes if you’d stop being jealous keep your tongue in your mouth and keep from stabbing people you sick jerk then you would have a date you idiot!” he just smiled smugly and that got me real ticked off I bit my lip and stormed off I made it pretty far but I guess he was behind me the whole time he grabbed my arm I spun around and glared at him, only it was not Justin it was Alejandro I jerked my arm from his grip. He half smiled nervously I was ready to find Duncan but I couldn’t just ditch him I had to tell him I had to do something very important. I smiled weakly “sorry Alejandro but I have to find my boyfriend so I um guess I’ll talk to you… soon.” I smiled weakly again he tried to too but he just frowned “Okay Courtney but I just wanted to know what time it was.” He said unsurely I knew he was lying I was an expert when it came to liars but the funny thing is I was a terrible liar I just smiled looked at the clock “3:30.” I said he smiled “Thanks.” I walked off now the hard part finding Duncan I thought to myself I could feel two large arms hugged tightly around my waist from behind. I could feel a warm breath run over the top of my ear I giggled knowing exactly who it was the hot breath again “Hello gorgeous your boyfriend must be looking everywhere for you.” I turned “yes he is but I think he found me.” I winked at Duncan he took my hand and we walked home.
Chapter 12:The Ugly Truth
“So let me get this straight you saw Justin.” I nodded “I wish he would leave me alone he is so obsessed.” He laughed “well do you blame her your smoking HOT!” he went to kiss me but I dodged “Down boy.” He chuckled and kissed my cheek I blushed I walked in the hut I looked around to my surprise Trent was nowhere to be found I scanned the room still no sign of Trent i frowned and walked out i shrugged my shoulders he rubbed his chin "Babe i'm sorry i'd like to help you find him but i'm real tired i'm going to catch a few Z's." he head off into the hut i stood in the middle of that feild wondering exactly wher i'd found him
Trent was in the most obvious place right on the stair case of the school where we first met he sat his hands on his face and perfectly still i walked up to him slowly and tapped his shoulder lightly he flinched and looked up at me he didn't smile like i was expecting but i excepted it and sat dowm next to him he took my hand in his and gently rubbed my palm with his thumb he sighed and began to speak "GG I'm not up to the whole dieing at 18 thing you know i want you to marry ME." i jerked my hand from his "You want to know what Trent i'm sick and tired of you assuming that i'll just pick you! what about Duncan huh?!" he stood up too "What about him!" I grunted and tried to keep from getting overheated "I love him that's what okay!!!" i didn't notice how loud i had said it he breathed i could see that really hurt him but at this point i could sort of cared less "You know what GG you win i love you more then i loved Valerie Duncan might be strong,funny,and in a girls oppinion hot but i would do anything in my abbility to make you happy but you are to STUPID to realize that fine go run off to Duncan i don't care!"
I couldn't hold it all at once the pain was worse than anything that i had ever experienced i let the tears run down my cheeks and the ache in my heart sit "I HATE YOU!!!!" i ran off my hands covering my face and let the cold air pass in front of me. Leaving what i had thought was the love of my life.
