*Noah's POV*
I actual slept peacfully that night. Somehow, confessing to Cody about my feelings seemes to take an entire world's load off my shoulder's. Plus, getting a new boyfriend was a huge win on my part.
"Alright campers, time to rise and shine!" Chris announced through the loud speakers. "report for breakfast in five minutes!" with that, the loud speaker clicked off. Trent and Owen did their morning grunts, got out of bed, dressed themselves, and went out the cabin door. As soon as they were gone, I hopped out of bed and climbed into Cody's.
"Hey Noah." Cody greeted sleepily. He then sat up, and rubbed his eyes. I noticed his hair was a bit tangled, and the way he was rubbing his eyes reminded me of a baby kitten.
"Your really adorable in the morning, you know that?" I asked, earning a smile and blush from Cody.
"Please, I look like a reck." Cody replied - sounding a bit flatered. I simply smiled at him, and pulled him into a loving kiss. I honestly loved Cody more than anything in the world, but....it would be fruitless to expain. No words could describe how much love I felt for the tech geek, and even if they did exsist, they would still be to meger to express my true feelings. After awhile, we pulled away for air, and I couldn't help but get lost in Cody'd teal eyes.
"I love you Cody." I whispered, giving Cody another quick kiss. Cody blushed, and got a huge smile.
"I love you to Noah." Cody replied with a slight hesitation. Although, it didn't bother me. I knew it must be a little strange for Cody to be in a same sex relationship, because - just by the way he acts - he family seems strict hetrosexual. But, I knew he did love me, and I also the knew the akwardness of our relationship would eventually fade for him. It was all a matter of playing the waiting game now, and I would play it as long as it took - for Cody. I smiled, and gave his pink, soft lips one last kiss before hopping off the bed, and changing into fresh clothes. Cody did the same, and we both hurried off to breakfast. We sat together, and had a wonderful breakfast filled with conversation, and, all around, good moods. Of course, soon Chris called us to the beach for todays challenge. We all went, and found Chris waiting pationtly by the lake. We all gathered around him, and waitied for his instructions.
"Todays challenge will test your mind, your teamwork, and your skills in the kitchen." Chris announced. "You will be cooking a three-course meal, and serving it to me for tasting. The winners get a reward, the losers will send somebody home." great, a challenge where we have to wait on Chris hand and foot. "Each team will apoint a head chef to creat the theme of the meal, and to over-see the cooking. To cook, you need ingredients." no duh idiot. Just then, a huge truch backed-up out of the lake, and stoped a couple of feet away from us on the beach. "Todays task, starts there." Chris explained. The person who was driving the truck pocked his head put, and....was revealed to be a dolphin in a UPS-like uniform. The dapphin gave a high-pitched sound of greeting, and everyone got these 'WTF?' expressions. "Okay, both teams will have unlimited acsess to the truck. That means, if you need more food in the middle of the challenge, all you gotta do is send someone out tp pick up some more. Okay, since the Bass one last time, they get to go onto the truck first. Gophers, you'll be folowing right behind them." the bass cheered, and ran onto the truck. We then followed them slowly.
"Head chef!" Heather exclaimed. "Called it!" what are we, in pre-school?
"Who died and made her queen?" Cody whispered to me. I just shruged in responce, and waitied with everyone else on my team for the Bass to get finished on the truck. As the Bass rumaged through the food, Heather was making a lise of all the supplies we needed on a clip-board she apparently pulled out of thin air. Soon, the Bass came off the truck with all of these food supplies. The last of the Bass to stumble out was Courtney - who was carrying a huge crate of fruit.
"Need some help Courtney?" Trent asked, getting daggers from the more competetive memberes on our team.
"No, I'm fine." Courtney weezed out, moving the crate around in an attempt to get a better hold on it. She then stumbled off with her gaint crate of fruit, and my team quickly hopped onto the truck. Everyone on my team then turned to Heather - who was the only one on the team not in the truck - and waited for her instructions. Heather then looked at the list, and started saying what everyone needed to carry out.
"Noah mangos, Beth pineapples, Cody macadamias, Trent ribs, Owen oranges, and Gwen tomatoes." Heather rang out. Everyone quickly got the stuff they were instructed to get, and started to walk toward the Mess Hall. To my suprise, the box of mangos I was told to carry was lighter than I originally thought it would be. On the way to the Mess Hall, I couldn't help but notice Cody was struggling with the bag the macadamias were in - which was actually as big as Cody himself.
"Need some help Codester?" I asked in full concern for the skinny tech-geek. Cody smiled, and opened his mouth to say something, but Heather got inbetween us before he could say a thing.
"Cody, get moving!" Heather barked. "I swear, if you make us lose this challenge because of your slowness, I an personally garuntee you'll be voted off next!" oh, she's just begging to be punched isn't she. I glared at Heather, and said Asian-Canadian raised an eye brow. "What?" Heather hissed.
"I think you should back off of Cody, Heather, because, if we do lose, I'll vote for you instead of him any day." I replied blandly. Heather's face turned red, and you could practically see the smoke coming out of her ears.
"Whatever Noah!" Heather snapped. "Just shut your trap, and get moving!" I then glanced at Cody, and he was giving me a pleding look that said: 'please go with it'. I sighed, and continued to walk toward the Mess Hall. "About time you started listening to me." Heather stated triumphantly. I decided to ignore the stuck-up daddy's girl comment, and continue carrying the crate of mangos to the Mess Hall. When I finally got there, I placed the box of mangos on the counter, and sat back to wait for Cody. After a couple of minutes, Cody finally ame back - weezing.
"Made it." Cody huffed. I then saw he was wobbling, and I knew he was gonna fall over soon. I then ran over to him, and caught him just as he was about to fall.
"You okay Codester?" I asked teasingly, but with full concern for the tech geek. Cody got a smile, and nodded.
"I am now." Cody whispered so softly that I was sure that only I could hear him. I then put Cody back onto his feer, took the bag of macadamias from him, and put them on the counter to next to the mangos. "Thanks Noah. So...would you...like to cook together?" Cody asked, blushing slightly. I was about to say yes, but, of course, Heather entered the Mess Hall, and immediantly started giving more orders to our team.
"Gwen, Noah, your on the citrus macadamia upside-down flombay." Heather barked. Cody got a sad look, and I returned it. I then trudged to the tabel where Gwen and I were working at, and we began slowly getting the ingrediants. At that moment, Owen - who was carrying a whole trash bag full of oranges - came into the door, and accidentally bumped into Heather. Heather glared at the said over-wieght Canadian, and he started to blindly walk backwards. Of course, Trent came through the door at that exact moment, and Owen got pushed forward - spilling the oranges all over the floor.
"Whoa!" Oven cried as he slipped on a cluster of oranges. He didn't fall, but he glided on most of the fallen oranges, and got knocked into a wall. By the time he hit the wall, the poor teen was covered in the orange's juice. Heather just stared glared at the jolly teen.
"Go back to the truck, and get more oranges." Heather hissed in a voice that showed it's strugle to stay semi-calm. Owen sighed, and got up.
"I'm on!" Owen mumbled as he walked past Heather and out the door.
"Trent, you are solo on ribs till Owen comes back." Heather comanded. Trent shruged, and went off to a nearby counter oven to get started. "Cody, Beth, your on pineapple scuers and mango dip." Beth then got a puzzled look.
"But Heather, dosen't that seem a little....I don't know, bland?" Beth asked sheepishly.
"I agree." Cody pipped up. "I mean, I'm no five-star chef, but I know a recipe for a pineapple smoothie that'll knock your socks off!" actually....that wouldn't be to bad.
"Oh really?" Heather asked, sounding like she was concidering it. "Well, thats so great, but since I'm head chef, we're gonna stick to my plan. And my plan, is pineapples with sticks through them! Got it?!" Heather snapped, causing both Cody and Beth to jump. I couldn't help but glare at her for yelling at Cody - who was only trying to help. Heather then stomped off - barking orders as she went.
"What a drama queen." Gwen muttered before turning her attention to a peice of paper in her hand. "Okay, so we're gonna need three cups of macadamias, a tea spoon of sugar, and five servings of...hey, are you even listening to me?' Gwen asked, while snapping her fingers in front of my face. I had been staring at Cody - who had started nervously peeling the pineapples- through thr corner of my eye, so I honestly couldn't say I was listening to her.
"Not really." I replied, giving her my attention for the time being. Gwen gave a frustrated groan, and put her thumb and index finger to her temples.
"I swear your worse than a little kid." Gwen groaned. "And even then, they at least pretend to pay attention!" as the goth continued to ramble, I slowly slid my attention back to my secret boyfriend. Cody and Beth were still peeling and cutting the pineapples, and I coudn't help but smile as Cody stuck out his tounge while he was peeling the pineapples - as if it helped him to peel better.
'God Cody's adorable.' I thought in my mind as I continued to stare at said cutie through the corner of my eye.
"Oh, now I see." Gwen chuckled, causing me to jump slightly. "I should've known you'd be staring at Cody." I blushed lightly at this, but I was sure my tanned skin hid it. I kept my face on indifference and just rolled my eyes.
"Whatever you want to think gothie." I replied in the most monotone voice I could muster.
"Gez, could you sound anymore caring?" Gwen asked in a sarcastic tone. I had to admit, gothie was better at sarcasim than I thought she would be. There was a bit of silence between us, but it was oddly broken by Gwen. "Hey....I need to go talk with someone for a moment." Gwen muttered. She then got up, and headed over to the tabel where Cody and Beth were at. She then whispered something to Beth, and the farm-girl nodded approvingly. Gwen then turned to me, and gave a thumbs up. I was momentarily confused, but understood everything once Cody walked up to the tabel.
"Hey buddy, looks like I'm working with you." Cody announced, smiling widely. I smiled back, and nodded my head.
"It seems so." I replied, joy showing in my voice. I then looked over at Gwen - who one again gave me a quick thumbs up. I smirked at the goth, and quickly returned her thumbs up. She smiled approvingly, and went back to peeling the pineapples. I smiled, and started lightly sturing the ingredins Gwen had apparently already put into the bowl.
'Maybe she's not so bad after all.' I thought. 'I'll have to remember to thank her....one of these days.....maybe.'
*Cody's POV*
'This is so great!' I sqealed in in my mind as I watched Noah begin to gently stur the ingrediants in the bowl. 'Now me and Noah can have a little time to ourselves. Well....not quit all to ourelves, but pretty close!' I then looked at Noah, and I couldn't help but envy his beautiful tan skin. I was about to say something when, all of a suden, the Mess Hall doors flew open. I turned to see Owen - who was covered in bee stings - carrying a crate of oranges with a crazed loo on his face.
"It's okay everyone, I'm back, ha-ha!" Owen announced. "Trent, heads up!" Owen called out, throwing the orange crate at said gutar player. The crate hit him right on the side of his skull, and Trent was instantly nocjed to the ground.
"Oops." Owen mumbled. Then, paramedics rushed in, got Trent on a stretcher, and wisked him away to the ER. Everyone then went back to what they were doing - as if Trent didn't just get hit in the head with a huge crate of oranges.
"Think he's gonna be okay?"I asked in a little concern for Trent.
"Sure, ut was just a little orange crate to the face - nothing that serious." Noah replied blandly. I simply shruged, and turned my attention to the batter in the bowl. It was an orange color now, and it looked like it was ready to be baked.
"Hey, is the batter done?" I asked, looking at Noah in curistiy. The tanned male smiled deviously, and I couldn't help but feel like I knew what he was about to do.
"I don't know, haw about you give it a try." Noah sugested. He then scooped a blob of batter in his hands, and plopped it all onto my nose. I smiled, and wiped away all the batter from my nose.
"I didn't know you knew haw to have fun." I stated teasingly.
"Theres a lot you don't know about me." Noah replied, shruging a bit. My eyes darted to the bowl of batter, and I couldn't help but deviously smile. I the scooped a whole bunch of batter into my hand, and plopped all of it onto Noah's nose. I chuckled, and the Indian-Canadian teen just rolled his eyes playfully. "Is that seriously the best you can do?" Noah asked teasingly, whiping the batter from his nose. While he was wping the batter from his nose, I then slyly scooped another thing of batter, and put my hands behind my back.
"Nope." I replied, quickly plopping the batter on my fingers onto Noahs nose once more. Noah then smiled, and wiped the batter from his nose.
"Cleaver, but now I am fourced to return fire." Noah stated, smirking. He then plopped the batter he wiped from his nose onto my nose. I smiled, and giggled slightly. I then wiped the batter from my nose, and reapeated Noah actions. This went on for awhile, and I had to admit, I didn't know Noah could be so fun.
"Cody, what are you doing over here?!" Heather hissed. "You were supposed to be with Beth peeling pineappes! And....have you to two been wasting the batter?! Ugh, that is it! Cody, get back over to Beth before I throw you into the oven and serve you to Chris!" man, does this girls have any manners what so ever? I got a scared look, and slunk off to the tabel where Beth and Gwen where. Once I got there, Gwen returned to where Noah was - with both of then wearing similar angry looks. I then nervously started to peel the pineapples once more. "Good, everyone is where they're supposed to be." Heather sighed in what I classified as relief.
"Man, whats up Heather's butt today?" I asked Beth. Said nerd got a scared look, and continued to nervously cut the pineapples into little even peices.
"I don't really know." Beth mumbled, keeping her eyes on the pineapple. There was an announcment from Chris - saying we had three hours left - but other than that, there was this akward silence between me and Beth. I was tempted to get Beth to spill the beans, but I kinda got caught up in watching Noah helping Gwen make the cake Heather requested. They put the cake into the oven, and set the timer. Noah then put his hands in his pockets, and leaned against a nearby wall. I my lips curl into a smile, and I began to stare at Noah through the corner of my eye.
"Cody, get back to work!" Heather snapped, causing my to jump. "We're not gonna get anywhere if your off in freaking la-la-land!" beside me, I saw Beth get a huge smile.
"OMG, I love that song!" Beth squealed happily. I couldn't help but chuckle at Beth's obliviousy, but Heather didn't. In fact, Heather did quit the opposite of chuckling. She just death-glared at Beth until the poor girls smile was completly gone.
"Stop being stupid and get to work!" Heather snapped, wagging a finger threatingly at Beth. Beth nodded, and lowered her head. I felt a sympathy toward Beth, but, in the same instence, I was really glad I wasn't Heathers human punching bag. We went back into silence, and we soon had all the pineapples ready to go. Just as we were finishing, I heard the timer in the stove go off. I then leaned aganst a wall, and wached as Noah slipped on oven mitts, and pull the cake out.
"Okay, so, now all we have to do is put the flombay starter on it?" Gwen asked in confusion. Noah shruged in responce.
"I don't really bake cakes, so I'm just gonna say yes." Noah replied. Gwen nodded, and brought over a container with a flame on it, and unscrewed the cap. She then dowsed the cake in flombay starter, and just stared at it - as if waiting for something to happen. Noah did the same thing, and I couldn't help but laugh a little at the image before me. Two of the smartest people I knew were staring at a cake expecting it to flombay on it's own.
"Whats wrong?" Heather asked as she approuched their tabel.
"Well, we used all the flombay starter, but the stupid cake won't flombay." Gwen explained, sounding a bit embarresed.
"Nothing happened when you lite it?" Heather asked. Noah and Gwen face-palmed at the same time, and I couldn't help but laugh again. Heather groaned, and walked to the side of the tabel where the cake was. "Pay attention Gwen and Noah. This, is how you flombay." Heather stated slowly as if she was talking to two year olds. Noah and Gwen both simoltaniously crossed their arms, and gave Heather pissed expressions. "Step one, pour the flombay liquid, which you did manedge. Step two, of two, light it." Heather then pulled out a lighter, and opened it. She then put the flame near the cake, and it instantly flared up - causing Heather to get covered in soot. Noah and Gwen covered their mouths to keep from laughing, but I didn't know why. Upon futher inspection, I realized Heather's eye brows had been singed off. Heather got a worried expression, and picked up a nearby frying-pan. She saw her face, and instantly screamed.
"My eye brows!" Heather shriked. "Owen!" Heather hissed. Owen instantly came running up with a happy expression.
"Is it finally lunch time?" Owen asked hopefully.
"No!" Heather hissed, starting to lightly hyperventalate, "Go get my make-up bag from the cabin!" Owen then got a scared look.
"But...the bee's." Owen reminded.
"Now!" Heather commanded. Owen then nodded his head, and trudged out of the Mess Hall. Heather then brought the frying pan too her face, and looked into it with a sad expression. I looked over at Noah, and raised an eye brow. Noah just rolled his eyes, and everyone started to go over the food so far. The ribs were still maronating, the pineapples had sticks through them, and the cake had a dark, burnt tint to it. Yeah...we're probably gonna lose. A few minutes later, Owen - who was once again covered in bee stings, but with much more brutal resultes - ran into the saftey of the Mess Hall.
"Well don't just stand there!" Heather hissed. "Give it!" Owen then mumbled some giberish, and fell to the floor. In doing so, the make-up bag flew out of his hands, and was headed toward Heather. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Noah smirk evily. He then raced up to Heather, pushed her out of the way, and caught her make-up bag. Heather tried to retreve the bag, but Noah held it just far enough that ot was out of her reach.
"Beth!" Noah called out. Noah then threw the bag toward Beth - who was standing on a counter top, and the farm-girl lukily caught it. Heather then raced over to Beth, and glared at her.
"Gimmie!" Heather hissed. Beth then quickly looked around, and tossed it to me.
"In the fridge!" Noah - who was now opening the frezzer door - called out. Heather then snapped her fingers, and held out her hand for the bag. You know what....no, she's not getting it! I then threw the bag into tossed it into the freezer. Heather ran after it like a puppy would a ball, and as soon as she was in, Noah shut the door - instantly locking it.
"Good ridance." Noah mumbled, dusting invisable dust off his hands.
"Do you think Heather's really mad at us?" Beth asked nervously. Just then, a loud banging was heard from the door, an Heather yelled threats to destroy us if she wasn't let out.
"Please honey, she'll get over it." Noah asured Beth. "Besides, she needs to learn how to....keep a cool head." Noah then looked around to see if anyone caught the joke, and got a sad expression when no one laughed. "Guess I can cross comidian off my career list." Noah sugested, still not reciving any laughs. "Oh screw you guys!" Noah hissed, actually earning a few laughs. He sighed heavily, and walked over to me.
"Whats with you today Noah?" I asked. "I mean, your usually cynicall, but today your all bubbly." I then put my hand on his forehead. "You sick or something?" Noah laughed lightly, and gently took my hand off his forehead.
"No, I just....wanna make you laugh is all." Noah replied, causing me to oh. I then threw my arms around his neck, and pulled him into a hug.
"Thats sweet of you, but you don't need to do that." I asured him. "I knew you were cynical from the start, so it really dosen't bother me. Besides...your more funny when your not trying to be." Noah then smiled, and hugged back. We soon seperated, and went to check on the food. The ribs were done maronating, the pineappled where now on a fancy serving plate, and the cake - which was decorated to cover the burnt tint - was on a plate which had a glass dome on it. A few minutes later, Chris announced it was time to present.
"I'm gonna go set up!" Beth explained merrily. She then paractically skipped out of the room, and quickly came right back. Noah and Owen did a quick smell chek on the ribs, and both gave an 'mmm' of approval.
"You know, we could still win this thing." Gwen stated happily. The team nodded in agreement, and Noah turned to Owen.
"Owen, since your the only avalible one left, we need you to gaurd and bring out the food okay?" Noah asked, earning a head shake - meanign yes - from Owen. Noah gave a: 'we're counting on you look', and we all went out the door. Chris was sitting at a long tabel with decorations on each side of it. On one end, there was a burning candle, and on the other was a tiki doll in the middle of a hula lae.
"Alright, Bass, lets have your appetizer and main course." Chris comanded. Bridgett then laid a bowl of what seemed to be anti-pasto in front of Chris. Chris tried it, and got a blank look. But he then smiled and gave a thimbs up. "Your anti-pasto passed the test-o. Pass the pasta please." Chris rhymed. DJ then shoved the bowl of pasta in front of Chris - causing the bolw of anti-pasto to slide right off the tabel. Chris then ate then the pasta, got a happy expression. "On a scale of one to ten, fifteen." Chris announced happily. "How the Gophers respond?" Chris asked to the camrea. My whole team turned their heads to the entrance, but Owen didn't come out.
"Something isn't right." Noah mumbled. He then walked into the kitchen, and I heard him gasp, and, for a moment, I thought he was hurt, but luckily he spoke again. "Seriously?! You seriously ate that entire freaking plate of ribs.....AND pineapples?!" Noah hissed. Owen - who was covered in barbeque sauce - then came stumbling out the, carrying a rack of bare rib bones. Owen then sheepishly laid the plate in front of Chris, and the host got an: 'are you kidding me with this?' expression.
"Yeah....this looks like it's uh......been eaten." Chris started, poking the bare bones.
"Not all of it." Owen protested. "I think there's a tiny chunk left on that....in that bone.....over there." Owen then pointed to a bone with a barly visible chunk of rib meet on it. Chris then picked up the chunk, and cautiously put it into his mouth.
"You know what.....I've had worse." Chris stated, smiling slightly. "Eleven points." Owen the cheered in victory. "Oh, close Owen, but the Bass still lead fifteen to eleven. Time for desert!" oh god, we burnt ours. I sent Noah a worried look, and he returned it. Him and Gwen went into the kitchen, and fetched the cake. Of course, it was the Bass's turn, so we had to wait for our dish to be rated.
As Chris tasted the Bass's desert, I couldn't help but pray we won so I knew Noah would be here the next morning, because if he wasn't....I will have already lost my new boyfriend.
*Noah's POV*
'Please make their dish suck so I know Cody will stay.' I chanted in my mind as Chris bit into the other teams dessert. He then chewed it, and got a deciding look.
"Eehhhh....six." Chris ancounce, causing the Bass to get sad looks. Yes, we could stil catch up! "The Bass have twenty one, so the Gophers need all ten points just to tie it up." I then brought the cake over to Chris, and laid it gently in front of him. I then backed off, and Gwen came up beside me. "I have to say, this dessert looks like a winner." me and Gwen got hopefull expression, and both leaned in a little as Chris lowered his fork to the cake. Of course....as soon as it touched the cake, the thing disentegated into ash.
"Not...good." I mumbled. There was actually a little bit of the burnt cake left, so Chris shoved it into his mouth. There was a bit of a pause, but then Chris grabed his throat, and started making gagging sounds.
"Hand on there!" Owen shouted, running up to Chris. Owen then preformed CPR on Chris for a good two, three minutes before the peice of burnt cake was dislodged. "Yes! Got it!" Owen exclaimed. Chris took a couple of minutes to catch his breath, and when he did, he picked up the wad of dislodged cake.
"Whats the heck is this?!" Chris shreiked. Everyone audimatically turned to me and Gwen.
"Hey, don't look at us." Gwen hissed.
"Yeah, besides, it was Heather's recipe!" I chimmed in. Beth then let out a loud gasp, and I suddenly realized....Heather was still in the freezer.
"Oh my gosh, she's still in the fridge!" Beth shrieked. She then ran into the kitchen, and Chris looked to my team for an explation. Everyone then turned to me again, and I just shrugged.
"What? The girls was being a pain." plus, she kept ragging on my boyfriend.
"Oh, I hear that." Chris chuckled. Then, the door that lead to the kitchen opened, and everyone turn to see who it was. Of course, what no one excpected to see was Heather with pure blue skin, and fuzzy-looking drawn on eye brows.
"Oh the horror!" Owen exclaimed. You can say that again buddy.
"You guys are ssssssso dead!" Heather hissed, shaking. She then turned to Chris. "Is it over?" yep, and we still lost without you.
"it is." Chris replied. "The Bass win twenty to twelve. Partly because I almost died eating that death-cake." seriously Chris, death cake?
"Great, just great!" Heather shouted. "Why do we keep losing people?!" maybe because you a soul-less demon that dosn't know when to quit? Heather then started to stomp off, but went straight the the tabel. "What is this?!" Heather asked, refuring to the tiki dall in the hula lae. "I didn't approve this!" Beth then sheepishly ran up, and picked up the doll.
"I brought it back as a suviner." Beth explained. "You know, from the other island." oh, tell me she's joking.
"You did what?" Heather asked in suprise.
"You mean Boney Island?!" Chris asked frantically. "The deadliest island in Mascoca?! The one I specifically said to not take anything from or you'll be cursed?!" better get your boots Beth, cause your in deep......lets just say crap.
"Yeah." Beth replied slowly. "I didn't know! I'll put it back!" kinda late for that, don't you think? Beth then ran out of the Mess Hall, and off to who knows where.
"Okay, The Killer Bass now lead with seven members to the Gophers soon to be six. " Chris announced. "And as promised, the winners will be invited enjoying a reward tonight, a five star dinner under the stars." the other team cheeres wildly. Chris then dismissed everyone from the Mess Hall. As everyone was walking back to the cabins, I grabed Cody's arm, and guestered to the beach. Cody nodded, and we both headed to the beach. Once we got there, we went straight to the rock, and sat down. Cody sat on my lap, and we both stayed in silence for awhile.
"So, I guess we know why we've been losing latley." I offered as a conversation starter.
"Noah....why did you lock Heather in the freezer?" Cody asked, completly ignoring my previous stament. I sighed, and looked Cody straight in the eyes.
"I did it because....she was ragging on you." I admitted.
"Noah, she was ragging on everyone!" Cody exclaimed. "I mean, she's just an awful person! Thats not an excuse to throw her into a freezer! Beside....you know how manipulative she is. What if she decides she wants you gone? Noah, I just got you. I can't already lose you. Noah....your the best thing to happen to me, and I dont want you leaving anytime soon." Cody then started to lightly sob, and I felt a wave of guilt wach through me. I then started to stoke Cody's hair in an effort to sooth him.
"Cody....I'm sorry." I whispered. "I was only doing for a little revenge, but...your right. Maybe we should both keep our heads down for a bit. You know, just until the tension goes away." Cody smiled softly and nodded. We then went back into a silence - Cody sniggling to me once more, and me stroking Cody's hair. In fact, we stayed there like that until the sun had almost fully set.
"Attention all Gophers, it's time to send someone home!" Chris announced, causing me and Cody to jump. We both exchanged worried looks, and headed to the camp fire. Once we got there, and got seated, the ceromoney immediantly began. "I've got seven Gophers sitting in front of me tonight." Chris announced. "But only six fluffy bits of sweet saftey in my hands. So, good luck. When I call your name come and get a marshmello." Chris then put the tray on the stump, and started calling everyones name. In the end, the last two people left were Heather and Beth. "Heather, Beth, down to you." Chris reminded them. "Whoever dosn't get this last marshmello must immediantly walk the dock of shame, and leave on the boat of losers, forever." Chris then leaned in, and smirked at the two girls. "Heather." Chris announced after a long pause.
"You heard him, boat of losers that a-way." Heather smirked. "That really was silly of you to take that tiki doll from the island." oh, just shut your trap Heather. Beth lowered her head, and walked down the dock of shame.
"Thats it for tonight!" Chris announced. "And you might wanna burn some sage to get rid of any lingering curse vibes." Chris explained.
"Really, will Chef be supplying it?" I asked boredly.
"Nope." Chris replied. "So....good luck with that." Chris then made his usual exit, and me and Cody once again snuck down to the beach. This time on a happier note than our visit there earlier.
"We're still in." Cody stated happily. He then cudled in closer to me, and hugged me. "Your still in." Cody rephrased. I smiled, and hugged Cody back.
"Well, I'm just glad your safe." I replied. Cody then smiled at me, and I quickly captured him in a kiss. He kissed back, and it felt like magic. I could feel sparks everytime I kissed Cody, and I loved it. After awhile, we both pulled away for air, and to my great suprise, I saw Chris standing only a few feet in front of us - a sly smirk on his face.
"Oh what I wouldn't give for the camera crew right now.!" Chris howled. "Don't worry dudes, I wasn't gonna interupt. I was just gonna tell you that it's against camp rules to be out of the cabins at this hour. So...yeah....take your kissy kissy scecion into the cabins." Chris then gave us a shu-shu guester, and started to walk off. "Hey Chef, tell the camera crew they missed some awesome action between Noah and Cody!" Chris called out - laughing hysterically as he did so. Me and Cody exchanged blank looks, and went back to the cabin. We both climbed into Cody's bunk, and we just laid there for awhile.
"So....Chris knows." Cody stated with unease.
"Yep." I replied. There was a bit of a pause, but then Cody spoke up.
"Do you think....thats a good thing, or........a bad thing?" Cody asked. I thought about it, but I couldn't form an answer.
"Guess we'll find out." I muttered. I then kissed Cody goodnight on the forehead, and went into my own bunk. I continued to debate weather Chris knowing was a bad thing, but.......I could decide.
Either way, things were gonna be changing very soon - I could just feel it.
