Star's POV
My gymnastics tornament was today at 12 in the afternoon. I was in the kitchen eating breakfast. It was 8 o'clock in the morning. My breakfast today was apple cinnamon oatmeal. To my surprise, eating oatmeal at a slow pace made it even more lumpy than usual. I put my spoon down in my bowl and stared at my lumpy bowl of now cold oatmeal. "Sweetheart, you got to eat for the tornament", said my mom coming to sit next to me at the kitchen table.

"I'm too disappointed to eat, Mom."

"I know you were looking foward to that date, honey. But you'll have other dates."

"But not with him."

"Tell me, what's so special about this boy?"

"Well, so many things. He's very intelligent and facetious."

"Those are many things?"

"Okay, maybe not so many things. But I forgot to add that he's really cute."

"I see." My mom put her arms around me. "Do you have this boy's telephone number?"

"I wish."

"Well there must be a way to reschedule your date somehow."

"There is, actually. I could go to his house and tell him."

"And how do you know where he lives?" My mom raised an eyebrow.

"Oh...well...that's kind of a funny story, which I'd love to tell you later, but practice starts in two hours. And time is of the essence." I got up quickly from the kitchen table and headed to the front door. I made my way to the bus stop, and boarded the bus.

Noah's POV
It was 9 o'clock. My mom took my sisters and brothers to the movies. I just finished eating breakfast. I decided I'd watch an hour of television before I go to the mall for my date. I went into the living room and turned on the television. It was on the news channel. "Ah,politics." I sat on the couch and watched my show. After half an hour passed, there was a knock on the front door. I got up to answer it. "Star?"

"Yeah."

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to talk to you. Well, not exactly talk, but-"

"Do you want to come inside?"

"Oh. Um, okay." She stepped inside. She went into the living room and sat on the couch.

"Would you like something to drink?"

"No thanks. I won't be here long anyway."

I sat on the couch beside her. "What did you need to talk about?"

"Well, it's about our date."

"What about it?"

"I can't make it." My heart dropped. "The reason why is because I forgot I have a gymnastics tornament today at 12."

"Oh. Well, you could spend time together now."

"Can't. I have to go practice for the tornament."

"Oh."

"I'm sorry. And you're not the only disappointed one. I was looking foward to this date, too." I smiled then. We sat in silence for five minutes. "Well, I don't want to be late. So, I'm gonna go now." She got up and headed to the door. I followed her. "Bye."

"Bye." I was about to close the door.

"Oh wait." I reopened the door. "Um, can I have your telephone number. You know, just in case I can't make the next date. When do you think that'll be?"

"How about this weekend?"

"Cool." She kissed me on the cheek. "I'll call you." She left.

"Okay, bye." I closed the door slowly. I couldn't believe what just happened. Not just the kiss, but everything. It was like a dream. A hallucination. It was surreal.

Star's POV
I can't believe I just did that, I thought to myself. It was frightening, yet tranquilising. After I gave him that kiss, everything else was a blur. Walking to the bus stop, boarding the bus, getting off the bus, and walking home. Everything else, except my mind, was in the now. I was still in the past, or my mind was. My felt my feet stop. I must be at home. I knocked on the door and my mom opened it. My ears heard, "Star, we've got to go in thirty minutes. Go get you gymnstics stuff and meet me in the car in five minutes!"

I, or should I say my mind, snapped back into reality. "Huh? What did you say?"

"Go get your gymnatics stuff and meet me back at the car. Hurry!" My mom walked around me towards the car.

I ran inside the house and went up to my room. I opened my bedroom door and grabbed my gymnatics bag from under my bed. Before I went back downstairs, I checked on Sol Negro. As soon as he saw me, he screeched happily. "Sorry to wake you, but I just had to make sure you were okay." He screeched. "That's awesome. I'll see you later." I closed the closet door and went downstairs. Before I walked out of the front door, I grabbed a bottle of water and a protein bar. When I locked the front door, I got in my mom's car.
-------------------5 Hours Later------------------
Even though we got back at 2 in the afternoon, it felt much later. My mom helped me unload my team's second place trophy from the trunk of the car. Once we were in the house, my asked if I needed help carrying the trophy upstairs. I said no, when I really did. When I got it to my room, I closed my door. I got some old newspapers from underneath my bed, and covered the trophy with it. I put in my closet, but as soon as I opened the door, Sol Negro came flying out. As soon as I put my trophy in there, I closed the door. I lyed on my bed and watched my pet fly around my room. This happens alot because he can't spend everyday in that closet.

While he was flying, I grabbed that book Noah lent me and began to read it. By the time Sol Negro tired out, I was halfway through the book. Noah was right, it was a really good book. Sol Negro was hanging upside down from my ceiling light, sleeping peacefully. I put the book on my night stand and took a nap.
---------------Half an Hour Later-----------------
I woke up. I decided to go downstairs. I went into the kitchen, where my mom was making dinner. "What will our dinner be for tonight, Mother?"

"Just some baked chicken."

"Can't wait. When will it be ready?"

"In an few hours."

"Great." I went back upstairs to my room. I sat on my bed and continued to read the book.

When I was done with the last chapter, I put the book back on my nightstand. It was 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Wow, the day went by so slowly. "Maybe I should call Noah's number", I said to myself. "To make sure it's legitimate." I grabbed my cell phone from the drawer in my night stand. I dialed the number. It was ringing.

"Hello", said the voice at the other end. It sounded like a teenager's voice. A male teenager.

"Noah", I asked the voice.

"Star", asked Noah's voice.

"Yeah, sorry to bother you. I just had make sure the number you gave me was legitimate."

"Oh, right."

"Um...so..bye."

"Wait."

"Yeah?"

"How did the tornament go?"

I was suprised by his question. "My team came in second place."

"Oh."

"We still got a trophy though."

"That's awesome."

"Yeah." There was silence on the other end. "Um, I finished the book you lent me."

"Already?"

"Yeah, I'm a fast reader. Especially, when it comes to a really good book."

"I told you it was a really good book."

"I know." Believe or not, we spent a few hours talking the phone. Mostly he did the talking while I just listened. He talked about politics and things like that. I didn't really pay attention to the actual dialogue, though. I was too fascinated by being on the phone with him. My mom soon called me for dinner. After all, it was 7 o'clock at night. "Hey Noah?"

"Yeah?"

"I've gotta go. My mom just called me for dinner."

"Oh, alright."

"I'll see you this weekend?"

"Yes, you will."

"Bye."

"Bye." I hung up the phone and headed downstairs for dinner........................................
