Mainly this entire chapter is in Trent's point of view.
I've been calling Gwen since I woke up this morning, but she hasn't answered even once. All I hear, every time,is this: "Hey,its me Gwen.Sorry I can't make it to the phone right now.If I didn't answer,i'm either not available..or I didn't feel like picking up the phone because you woke me up from sleeping in late.Call you back when I can,so..yeah.Goodbye now."
"Ugh,Gwen c'mon, please just pick up the phone one time.",I said to myself dialing her number again."You're so desperate, dude.""What, who's there?",I said dropping the phone to look around."It's me,moron."
I looked up to see my older cousin Derek. He's so annoying. He never stops bothering me about dating Gwen,he has too many problems, like he's always on the run from the police. He has piercings and tattoos, and he reminds me way too much of Duncan. And to tell the truth,he makes Duncan look like a fairy. We may be related but we're nothing alike.
"What the-Derek,when did you get here?",I questioned him."I got here yesterday, dork.I was asleep on the couch when you walked in,slammed the door, and stormed to your room. And then..you slammed another door.",he explained.I began to argue,"Well, leave.I don't feel like dealing with you right now." He snickered."Don't worry punk,I won't be staying here long.I'm just going from place to place..",he chuckled, nervously.
"You're being chased and tracked down by the cops again aren't you?",I asked slapping my forehead. He just smiled and shrugged."Well, what can ya do?",he said.I sighed."Fine,whatever.Don't expect me to hide you from the police, man.",I stated. He smirked."Aren't you already doing that?"
"Just get out.I have other problems to deal with,Derek."
He stood up and began to walk out."Whatever man.Don't worry about me.Don't you have an ex to call?!,he yelled as he stomped out of my room."Gwen isn't my ex!",I yelled back."Yet..".he teased."No,not ever!",I said back frustrated.I looked back at the door, confused."Wait, how did you-" "I saw everything when I ran through the park from-I mean,I was taking a stroll, thought I'd better get some fresh air.",he lied as he walked back into my room."Yeah..you really screwed up this time.",he snickered.I sighed again and started dialing Gwen's number again.
"You know you wouldn't have these problems if you had just ditched the goth for the hot girl that kissed you on the island.",he continued."Heather? No way.Not only does Gwen hate her,but she got me voted me off, she's with Alejandro, and she can't really be trusted,so..",I summarized.
"So then why you don't just go out with the blonde I saw you kiss in the park?",he responded.I stopped dialing Gwen's number to look up at him."I dunno,i've never really thought of that.",I said thinking it over. But almost immediately,I stopped thinking about it."No,
n-no,i'm still with Gwen.Okay?"He sighed."Whatever you say.I'm going out.I'll probably be back..tomorrow.",he said as he once again slipped out the room."Try not to rob anyone while you're gone!",I yelled before hearing him open the front door."Whatever, loser!",he replied.SLAM!
So here I was, right back at the beginning, calling Gwen.As I put the phone to my ear hoping for an answer,I began to wonder what Lindsay must be doing right now.
