The second chapter of " Lisbon's turn at Love"
Disclaimer: I still don't own the mentalist. Someone else beat me in THAT auction ( but I won CSI. ) JK! But seriously, i don't own the mentalist.

" Boss? Boss! LISBON!" Lisbon suddenly woke up from her daydream. She was taken back by the sight of Patrick Jane inches from her face.
" WHAT?!" Lisbon yelled, trying ( and failing ) to hide her blushing face. Jane noticed her bright red cheeks and just smiled slightly.
" Um, I just wanted to tell you that all of us are going out tonight and was wondering if you'd want to come." Jane looked a little self concious about inviting Lisbon out with him. Lisbon loved it.
" Well, I have a lot of paper work and I need to take my dog to the vet, but I could probably fit it in. Where are we going?"
" We're going over over to O'Malley's. What's your dog's name?"
" Huh? Oh! Ennuyeux. He's a German Shepard."
" Ennuyeux? Isn't that French for annoying?" Jane asked, puzzled but amazed that he remembered ANY French words. Lisbon shrugged and smiled.
" I got him 2 months after I met you." Jane smiled REALLY big then.
" Well, glad I could help. See you at 9:00?"
" Sure. See you then."

" Lisbon! Over here!" Jane yelled from the other side of the bar. Everyone near him turned and faced Lisbon. She
blushed and ran/skipped over to the table. She sat down right next to Jane. And I mean RIGHT next to him.
" what's up guys?" Lisbon asked everyone. Sitting opposite Lisbon was the red-haired Vanpelt. Next to her was Rigsby, sitting awfully close to her. Of course Cho sat, with no expression, eating a DOUGHNUT of all things! And what would a party be without Mr. Patrick Jane, pretending to not notice how close he was sitting to Lisbon. Now we have almost made our way around the table. Lastly, we have MISS ( that's a M-I-S-S Patrick. It means she's single ) pretending to have no idea that her hand is slowly inching it's way towards Jane's own hand.
" not much. We've all just been sitting here asking ourselves why in the name of god is Lisbon so freakin late?!" Jane said in a sarcastic tone. Lisbon playfully swatted his arm.
" I was late because SOMEONE forgot to turn off the coffee maker." she said with mock annoyance.
" well I would have turned it off, but I didn't know if you were going to have any." Jane said, playing along.
" Oh, so now I'm the bad guy?"
" Of course not. You're just not as nice as me." Lisbon pretended to be angry and Jane faked a angered expression. Vanpelt and Rigsby looked at each other. They both knew what the other was thinking ' It won't be long now.' Obviously, Vanpelt broke her promise to Lisbon. Even Cho noticed how the two were acting like an old married couple.
" You know what Jane. You are completely ennuyeux."
" Ah. But you see I'm so wonderfully ennuyeux. Waitress more drinks please!" Jane said signaling the waitress. I don't know if Jane or Lisbon realized it when Lisbon's hand finally caught hold of Jane's, they were to busy staring into each other's eyes.

Short chapter, I know, but this is actually really good and to drag it out would have made so much worse. Be looking for my next chapter! Stay Dramatic, DramaNut
