Damon 4x18 - He's moment of weakness - The Vampire Diaries TV Show - Fanpop

There is something that I realized about Damon is 4x18 that I didn’t write about in my previous post…
The fact that Damon starts the episode out by saying:

“Elena without her humanity is a stone cold bitch, and I won’t trust her until we get the old Elena back”.
but then seems to completely forget what he told Stefan when Rebekah has the cure in her hands and asks:
“Go on Damon, Tell me why you want Elena to have the cure”.

This may sound weird but I realized how absolutely beautiful his “moment of weakness” was because HE LOVES ELENA NO MATTER WHAT… human…vampire… humanity… no humanity… despite what she tried on him in New York…despite thinking that she’s a stone cold bitch… his moment his weakness… the thought that he might lose her if she takes the cure mattered more at the moment then her bitchiness…

Then the reasoning he gives to Stefan is even more beautiful:
“I thought for a second… literally just a second ‘If Rebakah takes this, then ALL my PROBLEMS go away’ and couldn’t think of one good reason to give it to Elena”

Meaning that he doesn’t think Elena is a problem… he doesn’t see her as something that needs to be fixed… he loves her despite the manipulation and stealing his car :)… he just loves her…no conditions
“And then Rebekah took it, and I realized out badly I screwed up”
Because he wasn’t thinking about Elena… his weakness is his selfishness… it takes a lot for someone to be selfless… it takes strength… so once his “moment of weakness” passed… he realized all the reasons she should get the cure… because she wanted the cure… no because she deserves the cure to have the life that she wanted…because she might do something that she would be able to take back…

Damon: …just like you and I falling for the same girl… its our thing
Confirming that he is still completely in love with her…
Stefan: It was our thing
Hinting that he isn’t… or at the very least foreshadowing that at some point he won’t be… or confirming that what he told Elena back in 4x11 “You don’t know what I look like when I’m not in love with you” was the truth and that he isn’t in love with her anymore

”Okay… okay, lets just get the cure and then, we’ll talk about you riding off into the sunset all by your lonesome”… because I’m not going with you… because I’m not going to leave her :) … beautiful, just beautiful
“You still want to get the cure… even if it means that you might lose her”
“It a chance I’m willing to take, Stefan”

I think this may be the first time that Damon directly shows his selflessness to his brother… I think that Stefan is starting to see that Damon isn’t has selfish as he thought.
“I mean, Selflessness isn’t one of your most obviously character traits, Damon”
“Yeah, well, One of these days your going to realize that you don’t know me half as well as you think” -4x08
I think that this is one of those days… I think that Stefan discovering who his brother really is, is part of his storyline… part of the redemption and bonding for their relationship as brothers.

Why “saint” Stefan is to blame for Elena’s death 100%

Now I know a lot of doesn’t blame “saint” Stefan for Elena’s death or blame Meredith (from unexplainable reason), but facts are facts he is the REASON she died please don’t give he “respected” her decision/choice CRAP spare me the “you’re watching another to show” because I’m goanna prove my statement that this whole respecting thing is full of CRAP.

All of you see/look at the whole situation as some kind of a mercy death or whatever, like she was dying from a terrible diseases/illness or she was hooked to a machines, and what he did was respect/honor her dying wish sorry...
