ducky8abug I'm a Bamon fan! Depending on the poster's age and tolerance level, "bashing" can be a subjective matter. Some people's sensibilities can be easily bruised based on how they interpret a response or reply. Others may take it with a grain of salt. Amongst the majority of fans, the youngest are the most emotional. I've also found that Delena, Bamon, and (to a smaller degree) Stelena fans are all guilty of instigating squabbles between separate factions. By the way, villifying one group for (what is deemed as) intolerable behavior serves as scapegoating mechanism and doesn't really address how fans have chosen to communicate with each other. Anyway....ce le vie!

HouseofNightRox Im Stelena, but I love Delena too. The reason Im Stelena is that if Stefan and Elena are together then Damon can be with Bonnie, but if Damon and Elena are together then Stefan cant be with anyone because in the books Katherine is dead. I like TV show and Book, so I ship couples who could work in both. I was a fan of Damon and Rose too, though but she wasn't in the book

HaleyDewit It's true that no one should be bashing. Delena fans shouldn't bash Bamon or Stelena or whatever ship that's not theirs (I'm a Delena fan, btw), but that goes for Stelena and Bamon fans, too. I never wished anyone to be dead, but sometimes I just hate Stefan, because he tempted Damon to drink that blood when he actually wanted to die instead of becoming a vampire, because Stefan was more approved by their father, because both Katherine and Elena prefer him over Damon. I just feel sorry for Damon. He never gets who he wants (not in the TV show,anyway)and I don't think that's fair. But I never wished Stefan to die and the fact that he gave up on everything to safe Damon, makes up for me. There are times I hate Damon, too.

jesse_hulm HELLO it's an awesome TV show but really who cares if some pimple face kid somewhere bashes someone ur a fan of chill out. I'm a Delena fan and have nothing against Stefan or Stelena, but Stefan's had 2 seasons to be with Elena, Damon loves her so he should have his turn. Breakups r part of life.

Katherine-P i know that some DE fans bashing BUT when i am on YT and make a comment about DE i ALWAYS getting BASHED by some SE or DB fans -.- we are all sometimes so ON our ships that we write before we think about it! people will fight forever because we are humans and humans want their opinions to be the RIGHT opinios and sometimes disagree other people and we began to fight for our ships. i think there will NEVER be an ultimate stop of those wars. we just can reduce them. its sad but its true!

delenasalvatore I agree with your points, but I think you should consider that bashing goes on in every fandom. I'm not saying that DE shippers never do anything to upset other ships, but I HATE it when other shippers paint us as 'the bad guys'. As if Delena fans alone are guilty of it. This is simply not true. I don't know what goes on on tumblr or twitter, but I go on YouTube regularly and even on DE vids, Stelena fans seem to gravitate towards us purely so they can start an argument. I'm not pointing the finger at Stelena fans, but to say that 99% of SE fans NEVER bash is a misrepresentation of facts. Some SE fans DO bash, unfortunately. So do Bamon fans. When it comes to fandoms, there are bad apples in every one, so no fandom can ever be 'perfect' or 'good' all the time. I haven't come across the kinds of examples you give, but the DE fans I know aren't like that. I like Stefan. I like all the characters. I can't stand the fact that other ships seem intent on giving DE fans a bad name, just because a select number of the fanbase has caused offence to other shippers. I'm not making excuses for those fans, but why should the majority of the Delena fanbase be held accountable for the actions of some random strangers, just because they happen to share the same ship? They didn't bash or hurt anyone. I'm an active member of the DE spot, but I couldn't even say that I knew the 'majority'. I don't. There are too many of us. So, while I do understand what you're saying, I think that your perception is very one-sided. How can you know what ALL SE fans are thinking/saying about Damon or Delena?? You might be able to know what some of them are, but it's not possible for you to know the individual viewpoints of every Stelena fan. You might find that some SE fans don't like Damon or Delena at all, or even hate them. I agree with your points, I think SE and DE fans should get on, but your article doesn't tackle the issue fairly, as you discriminate against Delena fans by claiming that bashing is limited to them only. It would have been fine if you had said that bashing is something that goes on in every fanbase, but you didn't. You seem to imply it's only a problem for Delena fans, and see Stelena fans through rose-tinted glasses. Just as you have your stories of bashing, DE fans have theirs. As for the message you wanted to give through this article, well I can appreciate that you didn't want to start something, but this article only perpetuates the myth that Delena fans are terrible and the rest of the TVD ships are victims. This doesn't do anyone any favours. In fact, I think it might make things worse, because it reinforces Stelena/Bamon fans beliefs that they are the cruel victims of Delena fans, thus increasing their sense of complacency and self-righteousness, and gives DE a bad name. Please reconsider your views. Not all Delena fans are awful, just as not every SE/Bamon fan is good and never does or says anything wrong. Fandoms are populated by every kind of person, so they are pretty much the same. To claim that one is better or worse than the others is a falsehood.

Epicurean I agree with you and understand where you're coming from, but I'd also like to point out that calling out a certain group for their inappropriate behavior could be perceived as passive aggresive. DE, like many have already stated, aren't the only ones being foul. But you're only addressing them? And it's a well-known fact that aggressive DE shippers usually target Stefan, so by labeling yourself an SE fan and defending only the SE fandom you're labeling yourself and them as victims. It's like, to quote a manga Peach Girl (lol): an antelope falls to the ground and cries. All the animals come around and ask, "Antelope, what's wrong?" The antelope replies, "The lion attacked me! It hurt my leg." All the other animals turn to the lion and get angry at it, saying "Why did you hurt the antelope?" and telling it to leave. But in truth the lion had never touched the antelope. I'm not saying that's the case here, since I have seen DE fans bash SE fans. I'm quite aware it's real. But by labeling yourself an SE fan and asking DE fans to stop bashing because it hurts yours and others feelings, you're clearly labeling yourself the victim and DE fans the perpetrator. You could just as easily have said, "I've seen a lot of bashing going on from mutliple different factions, and I'd really like it if we could all stop being so hurtful to one another and just accept that we have our differences in preferences and be happy Vampire Diaries fans together." That way you're calling out everyone responsible, since DE is NOT the only culprit. And by not labeling yourself as a fan of any sort you're remaining UNBIASED. And now I'd like to label MYSELF as a Vampire Diaries fan. Team VDxVD all the way!

corneliagirl101 You are putting a VERY large group of people in one pot. there are haters and basher's of every couple and character. I see Damon hated on for everything at times too. Depending on where you go or what haters on on at that time you will see bashing. There are many passionate Delena's fans like myself who LOVE Stefan as an individual but don't like Stelena. Not everyone hates. But bashing will continue as long as this show does. That's what happens when you create a triangle, make the characters so well written and acted people care for them as though they are real, and tease two different fan bases with what they want. As well as people just have different opinions and don't always state those opinions with respect. The only way to help stop it, isn't to call it out. It's to not participate or acknowledge it. Don't state one group, fan base etc are hating because somewhere else YOUR fan base is hating on them. It's a cycle, don't feed the flames and they shall eventually die down.

corneliagirl101 You make a good point but your obvious bias by directing this at ONE FAN BASE when ALL FAN BASES participate removes the true validity of your statements. Only an unbiased "Just don't hate on the characters, fans and couples" type message would have made the proper impact. Because to me your case comes off as the "Pot calling the kettle black". SE'rs bash to, it's a reality DE'rs have to deal with. and vice versa.

kaykaycookie8D You went about this article the wrong way. You painted a bad guy (Delena) and now some of the fans are upset about it. Of course, you did post this over two years ago, so I'm sure some people have gotten over it :). I think it's good that you want peace between the two clubs but labeling yourself as Team Stelena, and Team Delena as the villain didn't help the matter. No offense , but you made it appear as if you were the victim, and all the Delena fans were the enemy. That's why you've gotten so many negative comments. I made a similar article to this one and tried to be unbiased when it came to ship feuds. Your article however was biased towards Stelena, hence all the upset Delena fans. Also, in siding with Stelena, you made all Stelena fans look like you: a person who wants peace but doesn't want to accept that they're a problem too. And yes hunny, you are. This whole article, no matter what good intentions you had, had the opposite affect. And I'm sorry, but instead of making the feud better, you made it worse. I'm offering some advice: next time you want to stop a feud, being unbiased always help. By the way, not all Delena fans are like that. Just like not all Stelena fans are like you. No offense, hun :) You seem like a really nice person and I'm glad you were trying to put an end to a feud :) I would also like to agree with Epicurean. DelenaDestiny I agree, if you want to be rude do it on your own wall, but that applies for both groups. I don't agree with all your statements though because I am a Delena fan and I like Stefan and am not rude about him.
