Previously on Project Crossover, after dealing with a fallen Kell and its crew, Zach and Lefteris entered a strange world were they meet Erza Scarlet and she offered the heroes a new place to call home.
Project Crossover episode 2: Sanctuary
After the long walk, Erza says to both heroes, "Alright boys, we're here." Lefteris and Zach were amazed by the view of Sanctuary, a place full of civilians, a big bright city, and lots of activities to entertain the townspeople and supplying themselves with lots of good livestock. Zach looks at Erza and says, "You know, I would rather say something nice to you but, man that was a long hike." "I agree with you man, my legs are burning," said Lefteris. Erza giggles and says, "you'll get used to the hike. Besides, I found you two 10 miles from where we are now." "Good thing for you because you know how to travel ma'am," said Zach. Lefteris asked, "sorry to ruin your little conversation and all but any of you guys know what that big damn ball is?" "I don't know honestly," Erza said, "why don't we ask that question to Zach, I hope he can figure that out." Then Zach replied, "The giant white thing you guys are looking at is the traveler, the source of the guardians incredible powers. Guardians like me give thanks to the traveler for its protection and safety." Then Lefteris asked Zach, "What's with its damaged shape Zach?" Then Zach continued, "An ancient enemy searched endlessly to find the traveler and destroy it for good. Humanity faced extinction, then in a desperate attempt to save humanity, the traveler sacrificed itself to save humanity from the darkness. However, the good news is that the traveler has awakened itself and is still living strong to this day miraculously." "Alright guys, are you coming or are you staying?" Erza asked, "We can't waste all day you know." Then both heroes went on saying, "we're going to Sanctuary." "That's what I thought," said Erza. The three travel down the hill and walk to the entrance of Sanctuary. Then Erza knocked on the door to let the gate keeper know she's coming back. The vision slit door opens to reveal the gate keeper's eyes. Then he said, "Erza Scarlet, it took you long enough to return." Erza said to the gate keeper, "I apologize for being late, but I found two newcomers that would like to enter the town." Suddenly, the gate keeper barked, "Newcomers?! How many more people do we need in this damn town?" Then Zach stepped up and said to him, "Please let us in, If you don't let me and the others in, I will force myself inside." The gate keeper yelled, "No chance buddy! You are not getting...Wait a minute." He looked through his vision slit and saw Zach's helmet and also saw Lefteris standing to Zach's left. Then the gate keeper said, "Oh my God, it...it's the heroes that killed the bandit and his gang of pirates. Please come on inside, I'm sorry that I yelled at you." "No problem dude, but the next time this happens, I will break your nose," said Lefteris. The gate keeper felt a sudden sense of fright and swallowed hard. Then Lefteris laughed and says to him, "I'm kidding dude, thanks for letting us in." Zach, Lefteris, and Erza entered Sanctuary after the gate keeper opened the doors. Inside the city, many children were laughing and playing games while many people were selling livestock and treasure for good fortune. While Zach was wandering around, he noticed a woman with a rather long braided ponytail and goggles on top of her head, alongside with her, she is wearing a green and white
sleeveless dress with a heart shaped cutout revealing her rather large cleavage. Zach also noticed that she is holding a bunch of balloons in her hands. So he walked up to the lady and asked her, "Excuse me ma'am, I'm sorry to bother you but what's with all these balloons you're holding?" Then the lady said to Zach, "Glad you asked that question. This is the source of my potential flight power." Zach was confused about that reply, "You fly around with balloons? That just sounds silly to me." Then the lady said, "I don't think you understand. Also, I apologize for not properly introducing myself to you. My name is balloon vine, my flower means flight, and it's always been my dream to fly around in the sky. That would be nice right? If I can fly, I can go wherever I want to, instantly. Over the sea, over the mountains, basically anywhere I want to go." Then Zach replied, "Pleasure to meet you Balloon vine, I am Zach Huehn, one of the many guardians protecting the traveler." Balloon vine giggles and says, "Actually, I've heard a lot about you young man. You defeated a psycho space turtle from stealing the traveler's powers. Still can't place his name however." Then Zach said, "You're talking about dominus Ghaul." "Yep, that's the name," said Balloon vine. While Zach and Balloon vine are talking, Lefteris walks with Erza to meet with her team. As they are walking, Lefteris noticed a girl with blonde hair tied with a blue bow, and brown eyes. So Lefteris asked Erza, "Who's that pretty girl over there?" Erza replied, "Oh, the girl with the blonde hair? That's Lucy Heartfilia. She is a great helper." Then Lefteris starts to stare at Lucy's eyes and becomes frozen by her beauty. From there, Zach noticed Lefteris frozen in place by where he is standing at. Zach was wondering, "What is Lefteris staring at?" Then Balloon vine said, "Probably one of Erza's friends. Specifically, if I'm guessing, Lucy Heartfilia." Then Zach placed his hand on his face, shook his head and said, "Oh brother." Then Balloon vine giggles and says to Zach, "I think it's time I should take you somewhere else around Sanctuary." "That would be a great idea," said Zach. Lucy noticed a man staring at her, and she asked Erza, "Hey Erza, why is this man staring at me?" Then Erza said, "this guy is probably a big fan of you ms. Heartfilia." "Is that so," says Lucy. "I'm pretty sure about it," said Erza. Lefteris suddenly became fixated by Lucy's body and unfortunately, he passed out. Then the scene cuts to Balloon vine and Zach walking to the courtyard and Balloon vine noticed a man in white armor staring at the traveler. Zach noticed him as well and asked Balloon vine, "Is that Zavala?" Then Balloon vine said, "Yes, that would be him. He is probably waiting for word of the pirate crew that you and your buddy took down." Zach then said, "I better go tell him that myself." Then Balloon vine said to Zach, "Be brave sunbreaker." Zach walks to commander Zavala and calls out, "Commander!" Then Zavala looks over his shoulder and sees Zach walking up to him while giving him a salute. Zavala calmly says, "Guardian," and shakes Zach's hand and continues, "good to have you back." "Likewise commander," says Zach. Then Zavala stopped shaking Zach's hand and asks him, "Any word from the high value target?" "Oh the fallen Kell? He is gone sir," said Zach. "Excellent, you make the city proud guardian," Zavala said gladly. Then Zach noticed Erza and the others picking up Lefteris and bringing him to the hospital. "What happened over there?", asked Zavala. Zach turned to Zavala and said, "My friend fainted because he saw a girl." Zavala recoiled, "That sounds ridiculous." "I know, as crazy as it sounds," Zach continued, "he fainted over that girl over there." He points to Lucy and Zavala realised about the incident. "Very well then," Zavala said uncomfortably, "anyway, Ikora would like to see you guardian, she has been worried about you." "Thanks commander. I'll report to her immediately," said Zach. Then the sun breaker salutes Zavala and walks to the bazaar to meet Ikora Rey and explain his return. Meanwhile, Erza and her friends have rushed Lefteris to the hospital to wake him up from his sudden unconsciousness. Erza walked up to one of the doctors and told him, "Let me know when he wakes up." "What happened to him?," asked the doctor. Erza said, "This young man passed out looking at Lucy." Then the doctor uncomfortably said, "You got to be kidding me." Erza chuckled and said, "Sorry, I am not kidding." When the scene cuts back to Zach, he walks up to Ikora and says to her, "You know, you don't have to worry about me all the time. I always improvise my way out." Ikora looks over her shoulder and sees Zach walking toward her. Then Ikora shakes his hand and gladly says, "It's good to see you again guardian." "You too, Ikora," says Zach. Then Ikora and Zach stopped shaking hands and she says to the sun breaker, "The tower was worried about you not coming back, especially the other guardians and the vanguard as well. But I'm happy to know that you have returned from the clutches of Kravis, the Kell of Tyranny, even your friend Lefteris. Speaking of which, where is he?" Then Zach replied while trying hard not to feel embarrassed, "he passed out seeing a girl. Specifically, Lucy Heartfilia." Ikora breaking a grin, said, "that's rather unfortunate for him. Fainting after seeing a woman like Lucy, now that's embarrassing." "I know right," said Zach. Then he breaks out laughing and once he collected himself, he was ready to leave the bazaar to meet the rest of his buddies. Ikora calls out to Zach, "Before you leave Guardian," Zach walks back to Ikora and she continues, "I want to say thank you once again for coming back." Then Zach replied, "Likewise Ikora," and ran for the barracks. Back at the hospital, Lefteris finally woke up from his unconsciousness, and saw Lucy sitting right by him. "I'm sorry if I passed out in front of you Lucy," said Lefteris, "but dayum, you look beautiful tonight." Then Lucy breaks out a few laughs and says to Lefteris, "It's alright my friend, I thought you were going to get crazy because of the way you stared at me earlier today." "Oh I would never be rude to you Ms. Heartfilia," says Lefteris, "besides, you are my biggest waifu ever." Then Lucy blushes and says to Notaris, "Aw, aren't you sweet." Then the doctor walks into the room and sees Lefteris awake. From there, he says to Lefteris, "Good, you're finally awake." Then Lefteris saw the doctor and says to him, "I didn't think you would be here in such short notice." "Erza wanted to let me know that you woke up," the doctor continued, "Seems to me that you are already awake." Then Lefteris wondered, "Why am I here? And not because I passed out but why am I in Sanctuary?" Then Lucy explained to Lefteris, "Commander Zavala wants to orchestrate a live reconnaissance mission tomorrow morning. He wants to see if you and your friend, Zach can compete it." Then Lefteris says to Lucy, "I've already dealt with a giant smelly bastard, but if Zavala wants me to do a recon mission with Zachary, I would be obliged to help out." Then the doctor says to Lefteris, "That will work out perfectly. I will notify him first thing in the morning." Meanwhile, Zach is heading to the barracks when suddenly, he noticed Mirajane Strauss talking to Erza about the recon mission. "Excuse me ladies," said Zach, "What's the conversation about?" Erza replied to Zach, "Zavala is arranging a reconnaissance mission tomorrow morning and has assigned you and Lefteris to the mission." Then Mirajane spoke up and told Zach, "This mission might be very dangerous, but don't worry, we'll give you guys support if the time is right." Then some strange people came walking out of the shadows and one of the figures says, "you aren't the only one going into battle." Then Zach recognized the person and said, "It's nice that you're in Sanctuary as well, Carlos." Carlos chuckled and says, "I'm not the only USSO war hero in Sanctuary, Tanner, McKnight, Riley, everyone's here to protect this strange but remarkable city." Erza looks at Zach and asks him, "Who is this guy?" Then Zach replied, "Carlos Clishey, he is one of my original characters that I thought about. Suprising that he is here alongside with my other buddies." Mirajane asks Zach, "what makes him incredible Mr. Huehn?" Then Zach said, "he's a bioweapon." Mirajane and Erza were shocked at that reply. "It's true," said Carlos, "I'm a genetically augmented human capable of implementing enhanced speed and strength to dispatch my foes. Now you might be wondering how am I looking normal and feeling calm? Well, it began when a rogue millitary group called Nightingale started to wreak havoc on many parts of North America. They were just creating a new line of soldiers, the bioweapons. My father, Marcus Clishey, was one of those bioweapons, but he resisted Nightingale's orders and tried to shut them down. But in a desperate plot for revenge, those bastards captured me and started augmenting me in a gruesome manner. Marcus tried to rescue me, but they ambushed him and captured him." Erza says to Carlos, "that's just terrible." "Yeah, but that's not the rest of the story," Carlos continued, "After Nightingale captured my dad, I overheard one of the guards saying that without Marcus, we will prevail. So I let all my anger out and destroyed the holding cell I was in and started looking for my father. It turns out, I was the next generation of bioweapon, I can utilize Psionic energy with my augmentations to destroy my enemy. However at the time, I was incredibly unstable, meaning whenever I use Psionic energy, I started to destroy my own body." Then Zach finished Carlos's story, "When he finally found his father, Marcus was still alive miraculously, and he actually hid a shot that can stabilize Carlos and save him from destroying himself. And he used that syringe to save Carlos." "Thank goodness for that," said Mirajane, "anyway, sorry for keeping you guys up so late." Then Carlos says, "It's okay Ms. Strauss. This usually happens to me." Mirajane and Erza giggles at that joke, and Erza said, "alright guys, let's not waste any more precious time, we got a busy day tomorrow." "Affirmative," said Carlos, "see you tomorrow morning Zach." "You too Carlos," said Zach. Then the sunbreaker joins up with Carlos and the rest of his team to rest up for the mission by sunrise.
