Recap on episode five, Zach brings Leafa to the market to gear up the elf girl and in the process, meet some familiar faces. However, Zach encountered Nora Valkyrie and tried to stop her from stealing his mark. Thankfully, she was stopped by another of his original characters, King Zulu. After the incident, the heroes prepare themselves for a difficult mission.
Prologue
In the outskirts of a sand oasis, a tribe member walks into a large palace, which happens to be the palace of the lion blood tribe. The tribesman walks up to his leader and kneels to him. Suddenly, the king of the tribe said,
"You may speak my fellow warrior." Then the tribesman said, "Gratitude king Balthazar, one of our packs have been scouting the desert and we heard evidence about your uncle, Zulu." Then Balthazar said,
"My uncle is nothing to me now. What other evidence can you tell me?" Then the tribesman said,
"My king, this is not what it seems, but your uncle is accompanied by sancuary's most dangerous guardian. His name is Zach Huehn, we've been trying to stay away from him for months." Then Balthazar said,
"Then this will be the last time we will cower in fear because of him. He may be tough, but he is not invincible. Destroy him and my uncle." Then the tribesman said,
"It will be done, my king." Afterwards, the tribesman walks out of the kings quarters and prepares a pack to attack Zulu and Zach.
Project Crossover episode 6: Rise of Balthazar.
In Zach's point of view, his eyes start opening up and once he finally opens his eyes, he sees Leafa standing next to his bed. From there, Leafa said,
"Good morning handsome." Then Zach said,
"Ah, good morning Leafs, how are you this fine morning?" Then Leafa smiles and says,
"I'm doing pretty good."
"That's good news," said Zach. Suddenly, Zach leans forward and says to Leafa,
"Alright, let me get dressed and I'll see you downstairs for breakfast."
"Very well then," said Leafa. Once Leafa leaves Zach's room, he puts his casual clothes on and heads downstairs. Once he meets up with Leafa, Zach noticed a woman with ice blue hair making his breakfast.
"Hey there Zach," the woman said,
"Are you ready for your breakfast?"
"Oh I'm always ready," said Zach. Then the woman giggles and says,
"That's good, here you are." She sets out some French toast to Zachary and prepares to dig into breakfast. At the same time, she is making breakfast for Leafa. All of a sudden, Lefteris walks up to Zach and says,
"Morning bro."
"Oh, good morning Lefteris," said Zach,
"How are you this fine morning man?"
"Pretty good for the most part," said Lefteris,
"By the way, I'm sorry for not helping you in the market yesterday, I was very busy helping Erza and her team." Then Leafa said,
"That's okay, but we both understand why you didn't help us."
"Thanks for understanding ms. Uh," said Lefteris. Then Leafa giggles and says to Lefteris,
"Leafa, my name is Leafa."
"Thank you Leafa," said Lefteris, "Sorry, I'm not used to seeing elves like you." Then Leafa said,
"It's alright Lefteris, but hey, at least I'm taking care of your friend, Zachary."
"That's good to know," said Lefteris. Then Lefteris looks at Zach and says to him,
"I know you were quite shy a few days ago to find someone to love, but at least you found Leafa." Then Zach swallowed his breakfast and says to Lefteris,
"Yeah, for the most part, I'm liking this lady." Then the woman with ice blue hair said,
"I hope you two are getting along very well."
"Were hoping so too," said Leafa.
"By the way," said Zach,
"thanks for the French toast today." Then the blue hair girl said,
"I was assuming that you wanted French toast this morning, so I hope you liked it."
"Uh, you can clearly tell that you made a good breakfast," said Zach. All of a sudden, Leafa notices Zach's empty plate and says,
"My goodness, did you inhaled your breakfast or did you even taste it?"
"I tasted it," said Zach. Then Leafa smiles and says,
"Honestly, it doesn't look like you tasted your stupid breakfast."
"Either way, I'm happy that he enjoyed it," said the blue haired woman. Once he wiped his lips with a napkin, Zach says to the woman,
"Man, you know how to cook."
"Oh thank you Zach," said the blue haired woman, "I appreciate the compliment."
"No problem," said Zach,
"Wait, you look familiar." Then the woman giggles and says to Zach,
"That's right, I almost forgot to introduce myself to you guys. My name is Sayaka Hiyori." Then Lefteris said,
"Always nice to see you around these parts."
"How generously sweet of you Mr. Notaris," said Sayaka with a warm smile. Then Zach said,
"You know the one thing I like about you, is how kind and gentle you are." Then Sayaka said,
"Thanks, there are a lot of women around here who are really seductive, but I am just a really nice neighbor."
"That's good to know," said Zach.
"I know you have to report to General Riley," said Sayaka,
"but if you plan on roaming around Sanctuary in your free time, take my advice, try to stay away from Saeko." Then Zach asks Sayaka,
"Who's Saeko?" Then Sayaka said,
"She's a tall woman with blonde hair, purple eyes, and enormous breasts. Also, she is a softie for boys."
"Oh god," said Zach,
"not her again."
"Why, is there something wrong about her?," asked Lefteris. Then Zach said,
"I've seen her records, she fell in love with a young boy who is looking for his goggles around a community pool." Lefteris recoils and says,
"That's just wrong." Then Leafa follows up and says,
"Absolutely. You could get in jail for flirting with minors." Then Zach looks at Leafa and says,
"I hate to say this, but I believe Saeko thinks with her huge knockers, not her brain." Then Sayaka says,
"It's sad but true. That's why I'm asking you guys to stay away from her as much as possible." Then Zach says,
"Don't worry Mrs. Hiyori, we have a mission to take care of."
"That's okay," said Sayaka,
"I hope you guys make it back in one piece."
"We hope so too," said Lefteris. Once they finished their breakfast, Zach, Leafa, and Lefteris head to the armory to gear up. Lefteris adjusts his bracers to prevent them from loosening up and collapsing. Leafa draws her sword and performs a few practice swings to warm up. Finally, Zach inspects his guns and loads them with ammunition, then he operates the charging handle on his assault rifle. Once they fully geared up, the heroes heads to the command center. From there, they saw Riley staring at the Tactical map of the many realms around Sanctuary. Zach walks up to Riley and says,
"You wish to see us general?" Then Riley said,
"Yes Zach, I have some news for you." Then Lefteris says to Riley,
"What's going on?" Then Riley said,
"A few hours ago, we've lost contact with king Zulu, and we don't know where he's at. Some of my scouts have mentioned he dissapeared in the Savannah, but we don't know exactly." Then Zach said,
"General, we're ready. We can find out where Zulu vanished off to." Afterwards, Riley said,
"Okay, I'm approving the mission, stay safe out there." Then Leafa said,
"Thank you General. I just wished you would help us out today." Riley chuckled and said,
"I wish I could be on the field too Leafa, but someone has to stay here and watch over some of the new recruits."
"That's understandable General," said Zach,
"We'll be back, and we'll bring Zulu home."
"Good luck and godspeed," said Riley. Once they were briefed, Zach, Leafa, and Lefteris head to the hangar to rescue Zulu. While on their way, Lucy accompanies Lefteris and Zach notices Sean and Tifa joining the heroes for the mission. Once they arrived at the hangar, Zach says to his waifu,
"Okay Leafa, you are going to join me on my ship, Sean and Lefteris aren't because they finally were able to get some training to fly." Then Leafa asks Zach,
"Very well then, but I have a question." Then Zach says,
"Okay, what is it." Then Leafa asks,
"Where is your ship?" Suddenly, Ghost appears out of thin air and says to Leafa,
"It's right here." Suddenly, Zach's ship flies straight to the hangar and automatically lands on the landing pad.
"While I was talking you to the market yesterday," said Zach,
"The crewmen were able to refuel my craft so now we can find out where Zulu ran off to." Leafa breaking a smile, says to Zach,
"I'm going to be honest, your ship looks beautiful." Then Zach says,
"I know it's nice and all, but the sooner we find Zulu, the better." Then Leafa said,
"I understand Zach, that's why I'm waiting on you." Then Zach grins and says,
"Okay then, everyone, get ready." Lefteris and Sean nod their heads and board their own ships while Zach and Leafa enter their own. Once they got inside, Leafa asks Zach,
"Do you usually fly alone?" Then Zach looks at Leafa and says,
"Yeah, each guardian has his or her own personal ship to explore our planets. However, during certain times, we call other guardians to assist one another in dangerous situations." After she was briefed by Zach, Leafa said,
"That's good to know actually. Okay, mind if I take a seat?"
"Absolutely," said Zach. All of a sudden, Leafa notices a chair rising up on the right side of the cockpit next to Zach and Leafa says,
"What's this for?" Then Zach says,
"I know you're not used to the tech I'm familiar with, but you're going to be my co-pilot." Then Leafa smiles and says,
"Oh I would definitely take this role as a co-pilot, but remember Zach, I used a bit of technology back in my day."
"Oh yeah, that's right," said Zach,
Anyway, let's go find Zulu."
"I agree," said Leafa. Once the hangar signals a green light, Zach, Sean, and Lefteris flies to the badlands to search and rescue king Zulu. After flying for 30 minutes, The heroes land as close as they can to find Zulu. After they land, Leafa says to Zach,
"Okay Zach, where are we going to find Zulu in a place like this?" Then Zach said,
"The best way to find Zulu is to search for evidence of what happened. Keep your eyes and ears open." Afterwards, the heroes start searching the area for Zulu's whereabouts. While walking around to find a vantage point, Sean noticed a strange substance soaking in the sand.
"Guys, I think I found something," said Sean. Then Zach walks up to the spot where Sean discovers and says,
"This evidence is a clue to where Zulu is. It almost looks like there's blood in the sand, and it looks like it left behind a trail. Also, look at all these footprints around the trail. It's certain that a big battle has occurred here." Sean looks up at Zach and asks him,
"Are you certain Zulu is hurt?" Then Zach says,
"Only one way to find out. Let's follow this trail." The heroes follow the trail of dried blood and finds a body on the ground.
"This ain't good," said Lefteris,
"Whoever this guy is, he wasn't killed by one of us." Then Zach said,
"It's quite obvious that this man was stabbed in the chest by a large blade. For whatever reason, this tribesman wasn't part of Zulu's tribe, this guy looks different." Then the heroes hear Zulu's voice in the background saying,
"Because he isn't." Zach, Lefteris, and the others look up and Sean says to Zulu,
"Zulu, what are you doing out here in the badlands?" Then Zulu said,
"I came here to find my wife, Nancy." Leafa asks Zulu,
"Where is she?" Then Zulu said,
"She's been captured, by the lion blood tribe. My nephew, Balthazar, is in control of this tribe. They are extremely dangerous." Then Zach said,
"Where here to bring you back into Sanctuary." Then Zulu said,
"Not until I find my wife." Then Lefteris stepped up and said,
"I understand why you left, but Sanctuary is very concerned about you. We can't afford to lose you Zulu." Suddenly, the heroes hears a horn blowing in the distance which signals the lion blood tribe members to close in on their enemy. From that point, Zulu said to Lefteris,
"We'll discuss this later Lefteris, for now we got company." Zulu tells the heroes to form a circle to avoid being killed by the lion blood tribe one by one. Sean arms his Photon blaster while Zach readies his light machine gun. Sean looks at Zach and says,
"Now that looks heavy." Zach chuckled and said,
"Something tells me heavy is going to help." After Sean and Zach readied their guns, Lucy, Lefteris and Leafa prepared their weapons to fight off the lion blood members. Suddenly, a squad of warriors raced to the scene and one of the tribesmen let out a war cry to attack the heroes of Sanctuary. Zach fires his LMG at his attacker and shot him down. Another tribesman tried to sneak around the circle, but Lefteris took notice and slashed at the threat with his sword. Then the field chief took notice and says to the remaining members,
"We need more reinforcements if we wish to destroy these heroes." Then another warrior said to the chief,
"Understood chief. Everyone, fall back!" All of a sudden, the survivors of the pack regroups and retreats back to grab more units.
"I don't like the looks of this," said Leafa. Then Zulu said,
"Those disloyal fools, they are only going to throw more puny warriors at us just to slow us down." Then Zach looks at Zulu and said,
"Zulu, I think it's more than just that. They are going to grab much tougher units so we won't be able to get Nancy back to your tribe. Trust me, I've dealt with this problem many times. We must stay strong, and trust in the light to make it through this challenge." Afterwards, Zulu calmed down and said to Zach,
"Zach, you are always inspirational." Zulu draws his claymore and says to the heroes,
"We will cut out the heart of the enemy and we will bring back my beloved wife and end these terrible days of war." Zach lifts his gun in the air and yells,
"Oohrah!" Sean also takes notice and yells,
"For Sanctuary!" Afterwards, the lion blood tribe shows up with tougher reinforcements and prepares to take out the heroes and king Zulu. Zach sprints towards the enemy and performs a combat slide. Once he starts sliding, Zach leaps into the air with two hammers, sending a large wave of fire at his foes. Just when Lefteris and the other heroes thought that was a complete move, Zach slams the hammers to the ground, causing a massive explosion to occur. The explosion was so powerful, the lion blood tribesmen next to the explosion was disintegrated into ash. After seeing what happened, Lefteris shouted,
"Dude, that was amazing!" Then Zach looks at Lefteris and said,
"That's what happens when you mess with a guardian." Suddenly, Lucy saw a lion rider heading straight towards Zach and yells,
"Look out!" Then Zach looks and the lion rider tackles the Sunbreaker to the ground. Zach tries to do everything he can to get the lion off of him. He yells,
"I really hate lions," and places both of his hands on the lion's head and generates a tremendous amount of heat. The burning was so severe, the lion leans backward, launches its rider off its back and runs away in pain. The rider tried to escape, but he got decapitated by Leafa. Afterwards, she runs to Zach and asks him,
"Are you alright?" Then Zach says,
"Yeah, never better." Leafa outstretched her hand and says to Zach,
"Let's not keep Zulu waiting." Then Zach grabbed Leafa's hand and the elf lifts Zach back on his feet. Afterwards, Zach dusts off and grabs his rifle. Then he says to Leafa,
"Alright, let's go rescue the queen of the Umatu tribe." Then Leafa smiles and says,
"That's the spirit Zach." While Zach and Leafa rushes to help Zulu, he notices Tifa beating down two warriors at once. Afterwards, he says to himself,
"Man that lady knows how to fight." Without warning, a warrior jumps toward Zach with his spear, but Zach reacts quick enough to avoid the danger. The tribesman tries to slash at the Sunbreaker, but he kept dodging his attacks. Finally, Zach grabs the tribesman's spear and breaks it. Then he says,
"Okay, enough games," and throws his hammer at his opponent, taking him out. Then Leafa says,
"It's going to be hard to keep score from these guys." Zach chuckled and says,
"I have no idea if they can keep scores." After the brief battle, the heroes noticed a large camp nearby and Zulu said,
"This is it, that's where the lion blood tribe is keeping my wife. Let's get her back." Then Zach said,
"But Zulu, this area is heavily guarded. If we plan this wrong, we might return to Sanctuary in body bags." Then Sean says to Zach,
"Hey Zach, I have an idea. I'll stay back and provide Sniper cover while you guys grab Nancy and bring her home." Zach says to Sean,
"That sounds like a good plan, but did you pack a sniper rifle with you?" Then Sean said,
"Don't worry, I can configure my Photon blaster into any weapon I feel like using. And before you ask, I recieved some Sniper training from McKnight." Then Zach says,
"That's good to know. Alright guys, let's go get Nancy." Sean activates his configure kit and converts his Photon blaster into a particle beam rifle. Then he signals Zach to move up next to the tribesmen garrisoned in the camp. Zach quietly says to Sean,
"You're in range, take the shot." Sean aims at his target, and fires a high powered beam at his target, taking him down. The remaining members heard the sound and started to arm themselves with spears, shields, and other traditional weapons. Suddenly, Zulu leaps into the scene and attacks some of the lion blood members. Zach signals the other heroes to join the fight. While the heroes started attacking the tribesmen, Sean continued to snipe his enemies from afar. Leafa became a blur of quick slashes and lunges, while Zach lets loose his burning maul to attack his foes. Lefteris and Lucy fended off a couple of armored warriors to keep them away from the remaining heroes. While the heroes are keeping the lion blood tribe company, Zulu tries to break his wife free from the holding cell she was in. Then he noticed a lion rider heading straight towards him. So he readies himself and just when the rider is close to Zulu, he slams his fist to the lion's head and slams it to the ground, while the rider flies off the lion's back and Zach swings his maul at him, throwing the rider away from the battle. Afterwards, Zach yells,
"Out of the ball park baby!" Then Sean sees what happened and says on Zach's comms,
"Not gonna lie, that was hilarious." While Zach continues to fight, Zulu breaks the lock on the holding cell and says to his wife,
"Nancy, is that you?". Then Nancy says,
"Zulu, you made it." The king of the Umatu tribe says to his beloved queen,
"I thought you were dead." Then Nancy said,
"No, these traitors were planning on sacrificing me for their ritual tonight, but thanks to you, our people can survive." Then Zach takes notice and says to Zulu,
"Hey Zulu, escort to safety now, cuddle later." Then Zulu nods his head and signals Sean to prepare an evacuation. Sean gets on his comms and contacts Riley,
"General, this is Sean Bodine, We've found Zulu and rescued his wife, we need an evacuation craft ASAP." Then Riley says to Sean on his comms,
"Affirmative Sean, I'm already sending a VTOL your way." Then Sean says,
"Copy that General, see you back in Sanctuary." After Sean contacted General Riley, he says to his friends,
"Okay guys, let's get back home." Then Zach says,
"Roger that. Everyone, let's pack up and get the hell outta here." Afterwards, the heroes prepare to evacuate the area and bring Zulu to safety. Lucy summons two horses for herself and Lefteris, Leafa jumps in the air and deploys her wings, Zach summons his sparrow and takes off, while Zulu and Nancy manage to steal a lion from the lion blood tribe. Zulu notices Sean and Tifa and manage to pick them up. While they're riding to the evacuation zone, Tifa says,
"These lions are quite strong, I mean, I'm surprised that they can support our weight, especially you Zulu." Zulu chuckles and says,
"These aren't ordinary lions, they have been genetically modified to better suit the lion blood tribe's needs for combat." All of a sudden, Zach's motion tracker lights up and looks behind him for a brief moment. Then he yells,
"Guys we have a lot of company!" Then Zulu looks behind him and sees a bunch of lion riders heading straight towards him and his allies.
"They're going to kill us before we get a chance to evacuate the badlands," said Zulu. Then Nancy looks at the sky and says,
"Look." Suddenly, a USSO gunship arrives and starts attacking the lion blood tribesmen tailing the heroes. The gunship's heavy cannon decimates the lion riders and gave the heroes enough time to climb aboard and evacuate the badlands. Once everyone is accounted for, the gunship flies back to Sanctuary. After a long flight, the gunship returns to Sanctuary with Zach, Lefteris, Zulu, and the rest of the heroes. Zach walks up to Riley and says,
"General Riley, mission accomplished sir." Then Riley noticed Zulu and his wife Nancy heading to the hospital to patch the queens wounds. Then Riley said,
"Well done Zach, you guys have saved one of our most valuable assets in the USSO. The lion blood tribe maybe relentless, but We found out they can be slowed. However, I'm certain that they will return." Then Leafa says to Riley,
"Don't worry General, if they return, we'll be ready to fight back."
"Because of this encounter," said Riley,
"I will be increasing security protocols just until the lion blood tribe is dealt with. But for now, good job everyone." Then Lefteris nods his head and says,
"Thank you General." Then the heroes being exhausted after the fight, heads to the slums to rest up to finish the lion blood tribe.
Epilogue
A few hours after Zach and the others escaped, two lion blood tribesmen noticed a body on the ground. It happened to be the warrior that Zach threw with his maul. Then the one warrior looks at the other and says,
"We must warn the king." Then the warriors hopped on their lions and ran to the palace. Once they arrived, the warriors kneeled down and says to Balthazar,
"King Balthazar, we've come with urgent news." Then Balthazar asked,
"What happened out there?" Then one of the warriors said,
"Our camp has been destroyed by Zulu, and this time, he brought some of his allies with him." Then Balthazar said,
"Who accompanied my uncle?" Then the other warrior said,
"Zach Huehn, Sean Bodine, Lefteris Notaris, and it looks like Zach was accompanied by an elf named Leafa." Then Balthazar said,
"Since I wasn't able to sacrifice Zulu's wife for tonight's ritual, I have something very special for that elf. Bring her to me, alive. I have a good plan to bring that filthy Sunbreaker in this palace." Then the warriors said,
"It shall be done my king."

"Who's Saeko?" Then Sayaka said,
"She's a tall woman with blonde hair, purple eyes, and enormous breasts. Also, she is a softie for boys."
"Oh god," said Zach,
"not her again."
"Why, is there something wrong about her?," asked Lefteris. Then Zach said,
"I've seen her records, she fell in love with a young boy who is looking for his goggles around a community pool." Lefteris recoils and says,
"That's just wrong." Then Leafa follows up and says,
"Absolutely. You could get in jail for flirting with minors." Then Zach looks at Leafa and says,
"I hate to say this, but I believe Saeko thinks with her huge knockers, not her brain." Then Sayaka says,
"It's sad but true. That's why I'm asking you guys to stay away from her as much as possible." Then Zach says,
"Don't worry Mrs. Hiyori, we have a mission to take care of."
"That's okay," said Sayaka,
"I hope you guys make it back in one piece."
"We hope so too," said Lefteris. Once they finished their breakfast, Zach, Leafa, and Lefteris head to the armory to gear up. Lefteris adjusts his bracers to prevent them from loosening up and collapsing. Leafa draws her sword and performs a few practice swings to warm up. Finally, Zach inspects his guns and loads them with ammunition, then he operates the charging handle on his assault rifle. Once they fully geared up, the heroes heads to the command center. From there, they saw Riley staring at the Tactical map of the many realms around Sanctuary. Zach walks up to Riley and says,
"You wish to see us general?" Then Riley said,
"Yes Zach, I have some news for you." Then Lefteris says to Riley,
"What's going on?" Then Riley said,
"A few hours ago, we've lost contact with king Zulu, and we don't know where he's at. Some of my scouts have mentioned he dissapeared in the Savannah, but we don't know exactly." Then Zach said,
"General, we're ready. We can find out where Zulu vanished off to." Afterwards, Riley said,
"Okay, I'm approving the mission, stay safe out there." Then Leafa said,
"Thank you General. I just wished you would help us out today." Riley chuckled and said,
"I wish I could be on the field too Leafa, but someone has to stay here and watch over some of the new recruits."
"That's understandable General," said Zach,
"We'll be back, and we'll bring Zulu home."
"Good luck and godspeed," said Riley. Once they were briefed, Zach, Leafa, and Lefteris head to the hangar to rescue Zulu. While on their way, Lucy accompanies Lefteris and Zach notices Sean and Tifa joining the heroes for the mission. Once they arrived at the hangar, Zach says to his waifu,
"Okay Leafa, you are going to join me on my ship, Sean and Lefteris aren't because they finally were able to get some training to fly." Then Leafa asks Zach,
"Very well then, but I have a question." Then Zach says,
"Okay, what is it." Then Leafa asks,
"Where is your ship?" Suddenly, Ghost appears out of thin air and says to Leafa,
"It's right here." Suddenly, Zach's ship flies straight to the hangar and automatically lands on the landing pad.
"While I was talking you to the market yesterday," said Zach,
"The crewmen were able to refuel my craft so now we can find out where Zulu ran off to." Leafa breaking a smile, says to Zach,
"I'm going to be honest, your ship looks beautiful." Then Zach says,
"I know it's nice and all, but the sooner we find Zulu, the better." Then Leafa said,
"I understand Zach, that's why I'm waiting on you." Then Zach grins and says,
"Okay then, everyone, get ready." Lefteris and Sean nod their heads and board their own ships while Zach and Leafa enter their own. Once they got inside, Leafa asks Zach,
"Do you usually fly alone?" Then Zach looks at Leafa and says,
"Yeah, each guardian has his or her own personal ship to explore our planets. However, during certain times, we call other guardians to assist one another in dangerous situations." After she was briefed by Zach, Leafa said,
"That's good to know actually. Okay, mind if I take a seat?"
"Absolutely," said Zach. All of a sudden, Leafa notices a chair rising up on the right side of the cockpit next to Zach and Leafa says,
"What's this for?" Then Zach says,
"I know you're not used to the tech I'm familiar with, but you're going to be my co-pilot." Then Leafa smiles and says,
"Oh I would definitely take this role as a co-pilot, but remember Zach, I used a bit of technology back in my day."
"Oh yeah, that's right," said Zach,
Anyway, let's go find Zulu."
"I agree," said Leafa. Once the hangar signals a green light, Zach, Sean, and Lefteris flies to the badlands to search and rescue king Zulu. After flying for 30 minutes, The heroes land as close as they can to find Zulu. After they land, Leafa says to Zach,
"Okay Zach, where are we going to find Zulu in a place like this?" Then Zach said,
"The best way to find Zulu is to search for evidence of what happened. Keep your eyes and ears open." Afterwards, the heroes start searching the area for Zulu's whereabouts. While walking around to find a vantage point, Sean noticed a strange substance soaking in the sand.
"Guys, I think I found something," said Sean. Then Zach walks up to the spot where Sean discovers and says,
"This evidence is a clue to where Zulu is. It almost looks like there's blood in the sand, and it looks like it left behind a trail. Also, look at all these footprints around the trail. It's certain that a big battle has occurred here." Sean looks up at Zach and asks him,
"Are you certain Zulu is hurt?" Then Zach says,
"Only one way to find out. Let's follow this trail." The heroes follow the trail of dried blood and finds a body on the ground.
"This ain't good," said Lefteris,
"Whoever this guy is, he wasn't killed by one of us." Then Zach said,
"It's quite obvious that this man was stabbed in the chest by a large blade. For whatever reason, this tribesman wasn't part of Zulu's tribe, this guy looks different." Then the heroes hear Zulu's voice in the background saying,
"Because he isn't." Zach, Lefteris, and the others look up and Sean says to Zulu,
"Zulu, what are you doing out here in the badlands?" Then Zulu said,
"I came here to find my wife, Nancy." Leafa asks Zulu,
"Where is she?" Then Zulu said,
"She's been captured, by the lion blood tribe. My nephew, Balthazar, is in control of this tribe. They are extremely dangerous." Then Zach said,
"Where here to bring you back into Sanctuary." Then Zulu said,
"Not until I find my wife." Then Lefteris stepped up and said,
"I understand why you left, but Sanctuary is very concerned about you. We can't afford to lose you Zulu." Suddenly, the heroes hears a horn blowing in the distance which signals the lion blood tribe members to close in on their enemy. From that point, Zulu said to Lefteris,
"We'll discuss this later Lefteris, for now we got company." Zulu tells the heroes to form a circle to avoid being killed by the lion blood tribe one by one. Sean arms his Photon blaster while Zach readies his light machine gun. Sean looks at Zach and says,
"Now that looks heavy." Zach chuckled and said,
"Something tells me heavy is going to help." After Sean and Zach readied their guns, Lucy, Lefteris and Leafa prepared their weapons to fight off the lion blood members. Suddenly, a squad of warriors raced to the scene and one of the tribesmen let out a war cry to attack the heroes of Sanctuary. Zach fires his LMG at his attacker and shot him down. Another tribesman tried to sneak around the circle, but Lefteris took notice and slashed at the threat with his sword. Then the field chief took notice and says to the remaining members,
"We need more reinforcements if we wish to destroy these heroes." Then another warrior said to the chief,
"Understood chief. Everyone, fall back!" All of a sudden, the survivors of the pack regroups and retreats back to grab more units.
"I don't like the looks of this," said Leafa. Then Zulu said,
"Those disloyal fools, they are only going to throw more puny warriors at us just to slow us down." Then Zach looks at Zulu and said,
"Zulu, I think it's more than just that. They are going to grab much tougher units so we won't be able to get Nancy back to your tribe. Trust me, I've dealt with this problem many times. We must stay strong, and trust in the light to make it through this challenge." Afterwards, Zulu calmed down and said to Zach,
"Zach, you are always inspirational." Zulu draws his claymore and says to the heroes,
"We will cut out the heart of the enemy and we will bring back my beloved wife and end these terrible days of war." Zach lifts his gun in the air and yells,
"Oohrah!" Sean also takes notice and yells,
"For Sanctuary!" Afterwards, the lion blood tribe shows up with tougher reinforcements and prepares to take out the heroes and king Zulu. Zach sprints towards the enemy and performs a combat slide. Once he starts sliding, Zach leaps into the air with two hammers, sending a large wave of fire at his foes. Just when Lefteris and the other heroes thought that was a complete move, Zach slams the hammers to the ground, causing a massive explosion to occur. The explosion was so powerful, the lion blood tribesmen next to the explosion was disintegrated into ash. After seeing what happened, Lefteris shouted,
"Dude, that was amazing!" Then Zach looks at Lefteris and said,
"That's what happens when you mess with a guardian." Suddenly, Lucy saw a lion rider heading straight towards Zach and yells,
"Look out!" Then Zach looks and the lion rider tackles the Sunbreaker to the ground. Zach tries to do everything he can to get the lion off of him. He yells,
"I really hate lions," and places both of his hands on the lion's head and generates a tremendous amount of heat. The burning was so severe, the lion leans backward, launches its rider off its back and runs away in pain. The rider tried to escape, but he got decapitated by Leafa. Afterwards, she runs to Zach and asks him,
"Are you alright?" Then Zach says,
"Yeah, never better." Leafa outstretched her hand and says to Zach,
"Let's not keep Zulu waiting." Then Zach grabbed Leafa's hand and the elf lifts Zach back on his feet. Afterwards, Zach dusts off and grabs his rifle. Then he says to Leafa,
"Alright, let's go rescue the queen of the Umatu tribe." Then Leafa smiles and says,
"That's the spirit Zach." While Zach and Leafa rushes to help Zulu, he notices Tifa beating down two warriors at once. Afterwards, he says to himself,
"Man that lady knows how to fight." Without warning, a warrior jumps toward Zach with his spear, but Zach reacts quick enough to avoid the danger. The tribesman tries to slash at the Sunbreaker, but he kept dodging his attacks. Finally, Zach grabs the tribesman's spear and breaks it. Then he says,
"Okay, enough games," and throws his hammer at his opponent, taking him out. Then Leafa says,
"It's going to be hard to keep score from these guys." Zach chuckled and says,
"I have no idea if they can keep scores." After the brief battle, the heroes noticed a large camp nearby and Zulu said,
"This is it, that's where the lion blood tribe is keeping my wife. Let's get her back." Then Zach said,
"But Zulu, this area is heavily guarded. If we plan this wrong, we might return to Sanctuary in body bags." Then Sean says to Zach,
"Hey Zach, I have an idea. I'll stay back and provide Sniper cover while you guys grab Nancy and bring her home." Zach says to Sean,
"That sounds like a good plan, but did you pack a sniper rifle with you?" Then Sean said,
"Don't worry, I can configure my Photon blaster into any weapon I feel like using. And before you ask, I recieved some Sniper training from McKnight." Then Zach says,
"That's good to know. Alright guys, let's go get Nancy." Sean activates his configure kit and converts his Photon blaster into a particle beam rifle. Then he signals Zach to move up next to the tribesmen garrisoned in the camp. Zach quietly says to Sean,
"You're in range, take the shot." Sean aims at his target, and fires a high powered beam at his target, taking him down. The remaining members heard the sound and started to arm themselves with spears, shields, and other traditional weapons. Suddenly, Zulu leaps into the scene and attacks some of the lion blood members. Zach signals the other heroes to join the fight. While the heroes started attacking the tribesmen, Sean continued to snipe his enemies from afar. Leafa became a blur of quick slashes and lunges, while Zach lets loose his burning maul to attack his foes. Lefteris and Lucy fended off a couple of armored warriors to keep them away from the remaining heroes. While the heroes are keeping the lion blood tribe company, Zulu tries to break his wife free from the holding cell she was in. Then he noticed a lion rider heading straight towards him. So he readies himself and just when the rider is close to Zulu, he slams his fist to the lion's head and slams it to the ground, while the rider flies off the lion's back and Zach swings his maul at him, throwing the rider away from the battle. Afterwards, Zach yells,
"Out of the ball park baby!" Then Sean sees what happened and says on Zach's comms,
"Not gonna lie, that was hilarious." While Zach continues to fight, Zulu breaks the lock on the holding cell and says to his wife,
"Nancy, is that you?". Then Nancy says,
"Zulu, you made it." The king of the Umatu tribe says to his beloved queen,
"I thought you were dead." Then Nancy said,
"No, these traitors were planning on sacrificing me for their ritual tonight, but thanks to you, our people can survive." Then Zach takes notice and says to Zulu,
"Hey Zulu, escort to safety now, cuddle later." Then Zulu nods his head and signals Sean to prepare an evacuation. Sean gets on his comms and contacts Riley,
"General, this is Sean Bodine, We've found Zulu and rescued his wife, we need an evacuation craft ASAP." Then Riley says to Sean on his comms,
"Affirmative Sean, I'm already sending a VTOL your way." Then Sean says,
"Copy that General, see you back in Sanctuary." After Sean contacted General Riley, he says to his friends,
"Okay guys, let's get back home." Then Zach says,
"Roger that. Everyone, let's pack up and get the hell outta here." Afterwards, the heroes prepare to evacuate the area and bring Zulu to safety. Lucy summons two horses for herself and Lefteris, Leafa jumps in the air and deploys her wings, Zach summons his sparrow and takes off, while Zulu and Nancy manage to steal a lion from the lion blood tribe. Zulu notices Sean and Tifa and manage to pick them up. While they're riding to the evacuation zone, Tifa says,
"These lions are quite strong, I mean, I'm surprised that they can support our weight, especially you Zulu." Zulu chuckles and says,
"These aren't ordinary lions, they have been genetically modified to better suit the lion blood tribe's needs for combat." All of a sudden, Zach's motion tracker lights up and looks behind him for a brief moment. Then he yells,
"Guys we have a lot of company!" Then Zulu looks behind him and sees a bunch of lion riders heading straight towards him and his allies.
"They're going to kill us before we get a chance to evacuate the badlands," said Zulu. Then Nancy looks at the sky and says,
"Look." Suddenly, a USSO gunship arrives and starts attacking the lion blood tribesmen tailing the heroes. The gunship's heavy cannon decimates the lion riders and gave the heroes enough time to climb aboard and evacuate the badlands. Once everyone is accounted for, the gunship flies back to Sanctuary. After a long flight, the gunship returns to Sanctuary with Zach, Lefteris, Zulu, and the rest of the heroes. Zach walks up to Riley and says,
"General Riley, mission accomplished sir." Then Riley noticed Zulu and his wife Nancy heading to the hospital to patch the queens wounds. Then Riley said,
"Well done Zach, you guys have saved one of our most valuable assets in the USSO. The lion blood tribe maybe relentless, but We found out they can be slowed. However, I'm certain that they will return." Then Leafa says to Riley,
"Don't worry General, if they return, we'll be ready to fight back."
"Because of this encounter," said Riley,
"I will be increasing security protocols just until the lion blood tribe is dealt with. But for now, good job everyone." Then Lefteris nods his head and says,
"Thank you General." Then the heroes being exhausted after the fight, heads to the slums to rest up to finish the lion blood tribe.
Epilogue
A few hours after Zach and the others escaped, two lion blood tribesmen noticed a body on the ground. It happened to be the warrior that Zach threw with his maul. Then the one warrior looks at the other and says,
"We must warn the king." Then the warriors hopped on their lions and ran to the palace. Once they arrived, the warriors kneeled down and says to Balthazar,
"King Balthazar, we've come with urgent news." Then Balthazar asked,
"What happened out there?" Then one of the warriors said,
"Our camp has been destroyed by Zulu, and this time, he brought some of his allies with him." Then Balthazar said,
"Who accompanied my uncle?" Then the other warrior said,
"Zach Huehn, Sean Bodine, Lefteris Notaris, and it looks like Zach was accompanied by an elf named Leafa." Then Balthazar said,
"Since I wasn't able to sacrifice Zulu's wife for tonight's ritual, I have something very special for that elf. Bring her to me, alive. I have a good plan to bring that filthy Sunbreaker in this palace." Then the warriors said,
"It shall be done my king."
