More people are walking by now; their clothes have spots of paint on them.
“Do you know where Chef went?” I asked the tall tanned guy who I’m guessing is Mike.
“He’s down by the dock. You, eh, haven’t seen Zoey, have you?”
Zoey? OH, the girl with the flower in her hair. I haven’t seen her since we were all on the dock together. I shake my head.
“We’ll tell her you were looking for her if we see her,” Cody tells him and Mike nods.
“Thanks,” He smiles, and walks towards the cabins.
Cody and I walk for a few more minutes, until I hear a fire of a paintball gun. I turn around just in time to see the paintball hit a tree right next to my head.
“Run!” Cody shouts, and we take off down the path, Chef not too far behind us.
“You’re not getting away again, girl!” Chef cackles as he fires the gun, and the paintball hits Cody right in the back. This causes him to fall over.
“Cody!” I stop, and I turn to go back to him.
“Maisy, don’t!” Cody warns, but it’s too late. The blue paint from the ball already crashes against my leg, which makes me fall. Hard.
“You two are out,” Chef announces, “Go to the cabins. Now!” And he drives away.
“Maisy?” I hear Cody get up and walk towards me, “You okay?”
I’m lying on the ground, moaning a confirmation. I roll onto my back and sit up, looking at the new bruise blooming on my leg.
"Here, allow me," He scoops me up from the ground as we start making our way towards the cabins.
"Thanks."
“You took quite a spill there.”
“You too,” I giggle a little, “How’s your back?” I ask him, moving my legs to signal that I was okay to walk, or limp.
“It hurt’s only a little bit. How’s your leg?” He sets me down.
“Hurts, but I can manage to get to the cabins,” We make our way to the cabins.
When we get there, 9 of the campers are already there, including Jo, which I laugh in my head about.
“Ladies Man,” Chris looks at Cody, “Team A.”
Cody and I look at each other, and then he walks over next to Luke, Brick, Dawn, Lindsay, and Gwen.
“Ten-adian Tiny Mite,” Chris looks at me, “Team B.”
“Ten-adian?” I raise my eyebrow, but walk over to DJ, Zoey, Mike, and Jo.
Duncan, Lightening, and Izzy are the next to walk back with paint spots.
“Juvi-Man,” Chris looks as Duncan, “Team B.”
OH please no.
“Back for more, sweet thing?” Duncan winks at me

“Choke on your piercings,” I mumble, and then look over at Cody, who waves at me with a slightly disappointed smile. I return the gesture.
“Captain Modesty,” Chris says to Lightening,
“Team A.”
“Sha-WOW!” Lightening grins as he walks over to his new team.
“Izzy-Storm. Team B.”
Lastly, Alejandro, the hot model guy, strolls in with paint on his perfect abs.
“Team A, my man,” Chris grins, “Now that you’re all on a team, you may pick the team names.
HOWEVER, remember what I said about the last 6 to be found being tough competitors? Well they get to pick the team names. There are 3 on each team. Team A; Cody, Lightening, and Alejandro. Team B; Maisy, Duncan, and Izzy. DECIDE!”
“Okay,” I say, huddled up with my team, “Any suggestions?”
“Oh!” Izzy says with excitement, “Team Alpha! Because we’re like the Alphas; always on top!”
“That’s great! Anything else?”
“I suggest team babe, and Maisy will be our captain,” Duncan winks at me.
“Team Alpha it is,” I growl, “All in favor?”
“I!” The rest of the team replies.
“Man this is rigged,” Jo whines, “I should be in the top spots.”
“Trying being more of a competition,” I mumble and I hear Zoey laugh.
“Time’s up!” Chris announces, “Team A; what is your name?”
“Team Sha-WIN!” Lightening cheers.
I look over a Cody, who mouths, “Please kill me.” I giggle.
“Classy,” Chris smirks, “Maisy, what do you have for team B?”
“Team Alpha,” I smile, “It has a nice ring to it,” I look at Izzy, “Great idea, Izzy.”
She salutes me.
“Touching,” Chris continues, “So I overheard Duncan saying something about captains. I like it. Teams, pick a captain for your team. You have 1 minute. And… GO!”
“ME!” Jo snarls.
“I say we vote,” I roll my eyes.
“I vote Maisy,” Mike smiles, “She seems to have it all together.”
“I agree,” Zoey smiles, and they blush for agreeing with each other.
“Well I vote Izzy,” I shrug, “Her wild personality will pump us up to win victories.”
“I also vote for Maisy, captains have to be babes,” Duncan smirks.
“You flatter me,” I roll my eyes.
“I like Maisy and Izzy,” DJ smiles, “I think that’d be a power duo. But if I have to pick one, I guess Maisy.”
“So we all agree?” I ask.
“NO!” Jo snarls.
“And time’s up!” Chris calls, “Team Sha-WIN; name your captains.”
“Alejandro,” Gwen announces.

“Team Alpha?” Chris looks at Zoey.
“Maisy,” She smiles.
“Wow, the battle of the sexes; captain style. I LIKE IT,” Chris grins evilly, “While we’re at it, I’ll pick another captain to help each team. For Sha-WIN, hmm Cody. And Mike for team Alpha. I like it!”
