The trailer prominently featured the song “Silk” by Wolf Alice, the soundtrack confirms that the film will feature songs by Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Clash, Blondie and Queen, as well as The Prodigy remix of Iggy Pop’s “Lust For Life.”

The trailer sees all the main original characters (Renton, Spud, Sick Boy, Begbie and Diane) reunite, with a modern update of the first film’s classic voiceover: “Choose life, choose Facebook...”

“Trainspotting 2” is scheduled to be released on January 27th, 2017 in the United Kingdom, followed by a February 3rd release in the United States.

FILMING of the eagerly-awaited sequel to Trainspotting has begun, Scottish director Danny Boyle has revealed.

“And though I’m obviously feeling a little bit tense about it because of the success of the first film, I’ll tell you this: if anyone can pull it off it’s Danny Boyle.”

The script, by original screenwriter John Hodge, is "terrific", and, Boyle tells "All the four main actors want to come back* and do it."
