If you've happened to read the books then you will know that Sookie is, in fact, a fairy and that is why she had the weird vision. Claudine is her fairy godmother (actually her cousin) Hence why she has no blood type as well :) Read the Sookie Stackhouse novels they really are awesome! :)

Yes but none of that is in the book. Sookie is only like 1/8 Fae and it has no other effect on her besides smelling good to vampires and reading minds. This shit with the sun and don't let him take your light is stupid.
My guess is the extra tv show powers are to make it more interesting for the audience. Though, the fae world left much to be desired, I couldn't decide if I should be laughing at how awful it was or appalled the show underestimated our imagination.
LOL I love that. I really think they are messing this season up. They so got Claudine wrong. I think they are doing way to much with this fae thing. She is only a tiny bit fae and it is in Jason too, so does he not have a blood type as well. And was Sookies father a lot more special then in the books?
Its not "appallingly stupid" its straight out of the books. If you have never read the books its gonna sound like a big "jump the shark" storyline, however the thing about Charlaine Harris's writing is that its OUT THERE! Fairies are by far not one of the craziest things to ever grace Bon Temps.
We're talking demons, witches, were-everythings, goblins, maenads, elves, ect. Basically the woman has 'Lord Of The Rings' going on in her supernatural series.
Now having said this, the powers, "the light" have all been added to the tv version to make it sound way more interesting than what it actually is; which is.....absolutely crazy.
[going off the show]
I think that the whole near death thing was them saying bill is not who he says he is. Sookie has something special about her and I think the lady was telling her do not let bill take that away.

@mayo0904 I agree. I think that is what it exactly was about. that bill i not to be trusted. it was very telling when all the people in her near death experience was escaping to the pond for safety when they said the dark was approaching and then he was at the end of sookie's hospital bed. they were pretty scared.
