Bella is so protected, or at least as much as she can be, and it just makes the reader want to be her! i mean who doesn't wish that they could be loved entirely and protected completely. i love it, NOTHING even compares to Twilight.

    Reason why Twilight is better than Vampire Diaries:I got Vampire Diaries shortly after reading Twilight, hoping it would be just as good, but then was disappointed. It had good moments, but didn't capture the imagination like Twilight did. The last book was a bit confusing and had a flew plot holes in it that left me a bit confused. And you'll never guess how surprised I was when I saw that Vampire Diaries was actually on this site! I didn't think anyone had ever heard of it!

Not that I'm saying one species it better than the other, it's just that I'm drawn into the whole creative, yet classic, werewolves-and-vampires-must-always-be-enemies-even-though-some-are-still-friends thing. I love it! I love the characters, I love the inspiration! It's not just a vampire book, it's a message saying to love who you want and that it doesn't matter who or what they are. Follow your heart. Well I haven't actually read the vampire diaries, but how could that be better than twilight? I've read the saga many times and never get sick of it. When i fist started to read new moon i didnt like it because edward went away, but it was good at the end when edward and bella got back together. I'm glad i finished the saga, but when i finished it i wanted there to be a fifth book to the series. There are two reason for me why twilight will always be the best book series:
1: It intregues you, then you find that every other book that you read after the twilight series you find utterly boring and dont want to ffish it.
and 2: because of EDWARD CULLEN.

LolaMel Okay, I joined this site just so I could say this: No.18 = HAHAHAHAHAHA Seriously? Yes, The Vampire Diaries may not be realistic, but does that mean that Twilight is?? I have read both and quite honestly I don't think that you can judge which is more REALISTIC. The fact that it has vampires in it already makes it unrealistic. I know that LJ Smith went a little off track after the first four Vampire Diaries books but at least she didn't give Stefan and Elena a hybrid child. I mean seriously. And then have Damon love that child... My point is, The Vampire Diaries is a series, which means it is different to the books and therefore unpredictable and gripping. Twilight was always predetermined what would happen; if you'd read the book there was no point in seeing the movie and vice versa. The Vampire Diaries will always be amazing.

Edward Cullen is not a reason Twilight is better. Sure, he is cute, but tvd has other characters that are just way better in my opinion. There are also more different kinds of supernatural beings in tvd, like witches and travelers and hunters. Another reason: the Original family! At least Elena won't let the people she loves die for her, and she has a life of her own with friends and family, and she doesn't just give up everything just because she is in love. I think I've given enough reasons why tvd is better. I don't hate Twilight, but tvd is just better. None of the "reasons" on this list are actual reasons...

1. TVD has vampires that actually drink human blood and kill.
Twilight has "vampires" that drink animal blood, (which makes them vegetarian, apparently...animal cruelty much?) sparkle in the sun and their magical eyes change colours.
2. TVD has characters with feelings, flaws and acting skills.
Twilight has "perfect", stalking and abusive characters.
3. TVD has a REAL love triangle.
Twilight has a girl and a vampire that are together and a werewolf that tells the girl how sickening the vampire is to try and get her.
4. TVD's vampires are from the 19th century and before and are willing to have...
