Now, there are a ton of video game bosses. And, even though I already made a top ten fun video game bosses, I thought, “Why not look at bad ones”. And, so, that is what I am going to do. Now, before I begin, here are some rules. First off, only one game per franchise, and all of these bosses are going to be from games that only I have played. Also, I made an old terrible bosses list, so, I am not going to put any of the bosses from that list on this list. As much as I want to put Lucien on this list, I will not to avoid sounding repetitive. Now, with all that said, lets start the list
#10: Eggman (First) from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - Now, even though the second is the worst out of the two, I already talked about it, so, here is a fight that is just as bad. In this boss fight, you need to shoot at Eggman. And, how easy is it? Hold down the fire button, and that’s it… I’m dead serious, he doesn’t move, at least not fast enough, and he will rarely attack you in the amount of time it takes you to beat him. Seriously, why are all of Eggman’s boss fights terrible
#9: Jack Krauser from Resident Evil 4 - Now, some of you may disagree with this one, but, there is only one of him, and he has a completely different moveset from bosses, and the goddamn Wiki page says he’s a boss, so, I’m counting it. At the very least, he’s a mini-boss. Now, the fight with Krauser is just terrible. What is his boss fight? Quick-time events. Oh, joooooooooyyyyy. Yes, the entire boss fight has you press a button as quickly as possible or you’ll die. In other words, THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA FOR A BOSS! And, if you manage to get all the quick-time events perfectly, than this fight is really freaking short. But, what about the second fight with Krauser? …. It’s tolerable, I’ll say that.
#8: Scorpion Guard from Final Fantasy VII - Now, I love this game. It’s easily my favorite in the franchise. But, at first, I was a bit skeptical. The main reason is the games first boss battle. This boss should NOT have been the games first boss. He is way too damn challenging for a first boss fight. For one, he comes far too early in the game. Like, in the first FIVE MINUTES of gameplay, he appears and you have to fight him. And worse, you are, no doubt, a level one by this point, so you will probably die the first time you play him. What makes this fight crap is that you have no idea what you are doing. Sure, some die-hard Final Fantasy fans who played the other game may have beaten this guy easily, but this was my first Final Fantasy game, so I had no idea what any of the things on screen meant. Easily one of the worst first bosses I ever fought.
#7: Leon Bell from Dead Rising 2 - This guy is just horribly unlikable. He will always mock Chuck, even though he knows Chuck is better than him, and even insult him with the death of his wife. So, it only seems fair that this horrible character has the worst boss fight in the entire game. Leon will ride around on his motorcycle, trying to cut you with the chainsaws he has tied to the sides. What makes this fight crap is that he will always comes out of nowhere, and attack you. It is IMPOSSIBLE to hit him with melee attacks, so you’ll just have to attack him with firearms. But, you can’t do that, because, with all the zombies everywhere, you’ll have to climb onto something just to attack Leon. And, no matter what, you will have to hear his annoying insults. And when I say annoying, I mean “Stabbing your ears with toothpicks” annoying. Thankfully, this was the only awful fight in the game
#6: Frank from Madworld - Now, I have talked about the Shaman from Madworld enough. I talked about how he is an annoying prick. I talked about how his fight is broken. I talked about how the controls for this game are only broken in this stage alone. But, like I said, I talked about him before. So, we’ll just have to talk about the second worst boss fight. Frank is a giant Frankenstein ripoff, and, by god, he is annoying. He can punch you off the platform in just one punch, and knock you into the water below. Once you are in there, RUN! If he uses his electricity attack, he will electrocute the entire area, and you will take massive damage. And what’s worse, if you don’t kill Frank in enough time, he will run to his chair and heal himself, and you’ll have to do all this ALL OVER AGAIN! But, thankfully, the death scene is pretty cool. But, it doesn’t make up for the awful fight
#5: Million Gunman from No More Heroes 2 - Now, I could have chosen Jasper Batt. Jr, but EVERYONE has talked about this fight already. Anything else would just be repetitive and boring. So, lets talk about a fight that, surprisingly, I find even WORSE than Jasper’s. What makes this fight boring is Million Gunman himself. Let’s look at his backstory. Million Gunman is the president of the Santa Destroy Bank…. and that’s it… I am not even joking, that is literally his entire backstory. But, oh, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. When you fight him, he will constantly run away from you, and run into these doors, and pop out to shoot you. And, just like Leon, he always has to give off annoying insults. But, the utmost WORST is that you fight this guy as Shinobu. And playing as Shinobu is like playing Mario, if the camera was real close to your back, your jump would always stick in the direction it was going in, and he would stop jumping just to taunt people… Yeah, playing as Shinobu sucks. Also, I really hate that they tried to make him similar to Dr. Peace from the first No More Heroes, and that guy was awesome. Million Gunman? Not as much
#4: Nicole from Dead Space 2 - What is it with Dead Space having terrible final boss fights. But, in Dead Space 2, instead of the fight being insanely easy, it’s insanely annoying. You have to fight Nicole in this weird dimension, which makes EVERYTHING hard to see. I’m not kidding, I can’t see a single thing while fighting her. And after you shoot her enough times, she will disappear, then reappear, but now has a bunch of monsters that will attack you. However, you aren’t supposed to shoot them. You have to shoot Nicole. But, these monsters will constantly slow you down, and, if Nicole catches you, she will kill you INSTANTLY! But the real thing that made this fight awful is how you have to beat Nicole. You have to shoot the giant light in the background…. You need…. too shoot… the light… in the background…. WHY!?
#3: Morpha from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Now, when I say, Ocarina of Time, what do you think. Nostalgia, childhood memories, the greatest game ever made? Yeah, I’m sure those all come to mind… But, what memories come up when I add Water Temple to the mix. Probably utter nightmares. Yeah, NO ONE liked this temple. It was tedious, boring, and got old real fast. Sure, it had the greatest mini boss in Zelda history, but even Dark Link can’t save this crappy temple. But, the worst part is the temple’s boss, Morpha. It’s water… It’s just a pool of goddamn water… Do you see the problems with this boss? I mean, come on. We had a giant bug, a dinosaur, a… whatever the hell Baranade was, a ghost, and a freaking dragon. And, all the guys at Nintendo could think of is… water…. My god. Also, the fight sucks, since you can either die real easily, since Morpha’s only attack takes away four hearts, or it can be easy, since you can trap Morpha in a corner and wale at him until he dies. And, to add insult to injury, let me remind you that THIS was the temples boss, and Dark Link was demoted to mini boss… That’s just insulting
#2: Joker from Batman: Arkham Asylum - Now, the Joker is easily one of the greatest villains ever. He is an evil genius, who is always messing with Batman… So, I think its safe to say that this boss fight ruined him. After he injects himself with this antidote, he turns into a giant beast. In other words, the Joker, who is known for his mind games, has just turned into something Gears of War would conjure up…. WHY! Why does this have to be a thing. Not to mention, the fight is atrocious. BEat up Joker’s goons, pull Joker down, punch him a few times, etcetera, etcetera, etc-freaking-etera. Seriously, I just can’t stand the fact that they did….. THIS to the Joker
#1: Mental from Serious Sam 2 - This boss fight is horrible in every single way. It’s disappointing, it’s a waste of time, its… just listen. So, after Sam collects all five pieces of some medallion, and destroys the force field around Mental’s home planet, Serious, Sam then fights his way through the city, making his way to Mental. Not to mention, every person you met on the planet is helping you fight. So, once you find Mental’s lair, you then need to go through a labyrinth, as well as fighting literally every enemy in the game. And this goes on for a whole HOUR! I’m not kidding. Even on the easiest difficulty setting, this will take an hour. So, after all that is done, you walk into Mental’s lair, and you then get ready for the boss fight and- …. No, there is no boss fight. You don’t even get to see what Mental looks like. Instead, Sam just shoots him, and the game ends. And, I am not kidding, that’s it. THAT’S IT! You don’t get to fight him, you don’t get to see him die, hell, you don’t even get to see his freaking face. This game is so bad, that even the game admits that this ending sucked. I’m not kidding, in the credits, the game literally says how this was stupid, and that this ending sucked. Some may argue that it isn’t a final boss, but, I don’t care. Lucien from Fable 2 didn’t look like a boss fight, but the Wiki said it was, so, yeah, I’m calling this a boss fight as well. And, some may say that this is just a joke, but here’s the thing. THIS JOKE ISN’T EVEN FUNNY! After everything I did in the game, after all the build up and how everyone made this guy sound, THIS is the best the game could give us. Screw this game, and screw this boss
So, there you have it. Did you agree with the list. Tell me what you thought below. With that, I will see you all next time
