"Fawnstep!"Larkwing called.Her best friend was pelting down the slope toward the running hare.
She was heading straight for the border with EchoClan!"Watch out!"She yowled, and ran after
Fawnstep, her tail streaming after her.Her friend
didn't seem to hear.The hare picked up speed, and
raced away with its stumpy tail bobbing after it.
Fawnstep yowled in fury, as she skidded to a halt in two tail lengths across the EchoClan border.
"Fawnstep,you're across the border!"It was too late.A patrol had spotted them.The patrol ran to her friend with their nose twitching with interest.

    Featherpaw’s striped tail touched my shoulder. “Come on,” she whispered. The sun’s bright blaze rose in the sky. It was about sunhigh, now. “Let’s go.”
