Kurt Wagner is a high-school junior who'd love to be a swashbuckler like Luke Skywalker or Neo. Kurt excels at soccer and gymnastics -- no shock there. As Kurt is the team's acrobat, he is the one with the greatest joi de vivre -- approaching situations (even dangerous ones) with zeal and zest (although he is neither flippant nor arrogant about it).

Although Kurt has a demonic appearance, he is actually the sweetest, most vulnerable, most human of the group. When those around him are feeling down, Kurt is the quickest to pick up on it. And because of his appearance, he feels the most isolated from people in general. How would he be judged if they saw the way he really looked? Far from being glum, Kurt buries his potential blue streak by displaying a wicked sense of humor. He always plays practical jokes, especially on "big brother" Scott.

By virtue of a holographic inducer, Kurt can attend the regular school. But he lives in fear of his inducer going on the fritz, and the other kids finding out about his true appearance and labeling him a total freak. Because his holographic inducer is purely visual, Kurt always must be careful about coming into contact with people. If they were to touch his face, they would feel his fur. If he were to hold hands with somebody, they would feel that he has only three fingers. And of course, this technology does have a tendency to go on the fritz. Fortunately, Kurt can teleport -- thus protecting his secret while leaving the people he left behind very confused. Kurt's powers include spider-monkey-like coordination, a prehensile tail he can use like a third hand, and the ability to teleport.

Torpid does not speak, and may not be capable of it due to physical injury or childhood trauma, but she seems very friendly, especially around Spyke or Callisto, who she seems to regard as surrogate parents.

One of the lesser members of the Morlocks. "Torpid" can touch someone and cause them to be immobilized for hours. The first person we see her touch is paralyzed over night and then Berzerker for a least a few hours. No clue as to the control she has over her powers. She is shown wearing gloves, so it is assumed she can't turn her power on and off (much like Rogue).

The Hungan is a dreaded foe from Storm's past. Apparently he once was worshipped by a small tribe of Kenyan's, almost as a god, until the true, greater powers of Storm drove him out, and she was proclaimed their Goddess. When she left, he assumed power, but his desire for revenge was not so easily slaked. Taking with him some of his elite tribesmen, he journeyed to Bayville and captured Storm's soul in his scepter, taking control of her body and powers.

The other X-Men and especially Spyke (who shattered his scepter) spoiled his plans, and last he was seen was being hurled into the ocean by a Storm powered hurricane.

Sergeant Hawke is the commanding officer at the quasi-military survival camp known as Ironback. He's tough, surly, and generally very loud. He's almost as tough as Logan is on those in his charge. Almost.

Hawke was the one who sent the Brotherhood and the X-Men against one another to climb mount Humiliation in a vain attempt to weed out the arguing between the two groups. Seems his attempt was partially successful, though not in the way he'd imagined.
