The team was standing against the wall in the cave. From young to old: Robin, Wally, Artemis, Megan, Conner, Kaldur. Black Canary was giving instruction, how you can show someone the floor in five seconds. Wally wasn’t listening. He was just staring in the air. Robin could see that Black Canary was getting angry. “Wally? Hello Earth to Wally!” Robin was trying to get Wally’s attention. “What?” Wally looked confused. “Did something happened?” Robin couldn’t helped it. He knew that Black Canary only would get angrier. But a evil smile filled his face. He leaned in and whispered: “Artemis just confessed to you. (And you didn’t even noticed.)” Wally’s eyes grew big, while saying in disbelief: “Artemis did what!?” A little bit too loud. His words echo in the cave. Five pair eyes turned to Wally. A voice asked: “What did I do, turtle?” “Ehm, well …….” A short and awkward moment, Wally didn’t know what to do. A laugh beside him made him realize, he was being fooled.

Superboy (Conner) saw Robin and Wally starting to fight. They were having fun like always. Conner didn’t really care if the two boy’s fight. If they only… “You guys are really weak. Only fighting each other instead of me or Kaldur.” It was out his mouth before he noticed. The two boy’s stopped fighting and looked at both the other guy’s. Robin smiled “You should have said that much earlier” Then out of nothing Conner got hit by a fist and fell on the ground. Conner looked up to see who punched him. Kaldur was smiling: “If you want to fight, You just need to ask me nicely.” Conner began to smile. At that moment all the Boy’s were thinking the same thing: This going to be fun.

Black Canary was watching the boy’s fight. The girls were also looking at the boy’s. This is so annoying. It’s good that they are all friends. And that they can tease and fight each other. But they are still wasting my time! “Miss Canary. Artemis and I will go instead of the boy’s.” Megan’s voice was polite but sounded annoyed when referring to the boy’s. Artemis gave a evil look: “Let them play. Every time they hit each other they lose brain cells.” Megan turned around to show Artemis a smile: “Nice one” Black canary watched the girls, they were still talking, but they didn’t want her or the boy’s to hear. And what is here? “Well, put her back to sleep. We can wake her up when we need her.” Need her? What the hell are you people talking about.

“Well, I will see you guys soon.” Black Canary smiled when she walked away. Kaldur was looking at his teammates. They were all laying around. All of them were looking dead tired. Wally raised his hand: “I see the light.” Artemis laughed: “I will be the one who will show you the light.” Kaldur shakes his head. They were so flirting. What a double sentences. Wally turned around to say something back. But Conner laid his hand against his mouth. Conner: “You two should be quiet. Someone is sleeping.” Kaldur looked around. Against the wall Robin was curled up. Hmm, thought Kaldur, I didn’t even noticed that Robin was sleeping. Kaldur: “He is even alert when he sleeps.” Artemis: “What?” Kaldur: “He is sleeping with his back against the wall.” Artemis: “I knew that. My question is: why is he sleeping.” Megan: “He worked really hard tonight.” Artemis: “So? We all worked hard. He is just too young to do this.” Wally wanted to respond but Kaldur gave him a glare. The sound of iron footsteps gave away that Red Tornado was walking into the room: “Why is Robin sleeping on the floor?” Wally: “Why not? It’s late.” Artemis: “Ooow, it is past his bed time.” Wally snapped, she has gone too far: “Could you please shut t fuck up.” Red Tornado stopped the two by raising his hand: “That isn’t correct, Artemis. Robin is also training at home and whenever he has free time. So you can’t say that he is too young for this.” Megan looked at Robin while Red Tornado spoke. “He wants to become better. So he does his best to reach that goal. That’s the reason, that he is sleeping now.” Wally smiled that is something that the Bat would say. Artemis: “What are you saying? That he is better than the rest of us? That we don’t do our best.” If Red Tornado was a human, he would have rolled his eyes or even laugh. He turned his head to look at Artemis. Red Tornado: “No, all of you work for the same goal. But you all forget that you are part of a team. And teams should relay on each other. Only then you will become better.” Conner looked up: “Are you referring that we don’t work as a team or that we don’t trust each other?” Everyone was looking at Red Tornado (except Robin, who was still sleeping), waiting for his answer. Red Tornado’s voice sounded almost teasing: “You need to decide on your own what I meant.” Silence filled the room. And Wally was now sure about is early thought. I don’t know how he did it, but that was Batman. Red Tornado broke the silence to pick robin of the floor, while saying: “You should all go to bed.”

I’m floating. “I want to stay here. There is nothing for me at home. Everybody is….….” My voice was stuck in my throat. The words hurts. I don’t even know what the words are, but they are like knifes stabbing me in my heart. Eyes are looking at me, trying to find out why I am crying. A voice that isn’t mine spoke: “Fine, but you won’t remember……” I can’t hear his or her voice anymore. I feel pain, see blood that isn’t mine and hear a lost cry in the night.

I woke up, wanting to scream. I was trying to catch my breath. Slowly I calmed down. I was in the girls room. I looked around, everyone was breaching even. Lucky, I didn’t scream. Or they all would have waked up. I was sitting in the rocking chair, a book was laying not far from me. I fell asleep while telling a bedtime story. Geezz, I’m fifteen, for crying out loud. I was standing up, feeling all my muscles protest. A small voice got my attention. “Rachel? Are you alright?” I faced Audrey, the oldest of the orphans. In the orphans house the youngest children were put in one room. It was the duty of the oldest to sleep in the same room. So that, if one of the girls wake up in the middle of the night she won’t be alone. Rachel: “Yeah, I’m fine.” Audrey rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. “Did you had a bad dream again?” A nervous laugh escaped my mouth. “No, why did you wake up.” Waving her question away. “Rachel.” Audrey voice was hard. She knew I was lying. It didn’t matter what I would do in my life or what I already did. She would always see me as her little sister. “Fine, I lied. Happy?” Audrey shakes her head, she looked worried. “Of course I ain’t happy. You already don’t sleep so much.” I walked towards her. “There is nothing to worry. I will take a sleep pill and go to bed.” “You never take a sleep pill.” Audrey’s eyes looked skeptic. I just smiled back. “I will take one, if you promise me you won’t tell Kate.” I saw her doubting. Kate Owens was my guardian. She was also the co-founder of Tree-enterprise. Audrey sighed. “Fine, it is a deal. Now go to bed and don’t forget to take a sleep pill.” I walked to the door, what was a little bit difficult because toys and books were laying around. Before I closed the door I whispered: “Thanks Audrey.”
