He felt numb. He felt slow. He didn't like it. Everything inside him was crying for warmth. He could barely move his head. His eyes opened and he looked around. Everything was darkened, minus the light from the three liquids runnning into the three “invulnerable” heroes. He heard a sound to his right and turned to look that way. Robin was moving around. He looked like he was dreaming. And he was mumbling.
Connor heard the words before he even opened his eyes. It was Robin's voice. And the words were bringing tears to the clone's eyes. He heard everything loud and clear and just about broke his kryptonian heart.
Megan could feel the pain in her heart. But she knew it was more from her telepathic link with everyone than anything else. Words and pictures. She didn't know he could stand it!
Kaldur heard thw words. And he felt the pain embedded in the boy's mind. Nothing could have prepared them for this. Nothing. And kaldur couldn't help but think it was his fault.
Artemis now realized that Robin's drug wasn't the same as hers. She had just been knocked out. But Robin seemed to be having nightmares! His must have been some sort of mind changing drug. Artemis winced when she heard a pained mumble.
The pain was too much. This was too much. Robin didn't know he was being drugged by fear gas. But he didn't even know he was asleep. His dream, his nightmare was one of the worst he had ever had. He was fighting with Slade. Becca was with him. But every move he made, Slade countered. And when Robin couldn't block the shot, Becca had jumped in front of him. The dream changed a little. Instead of just being hit, Becca had been shot. Slade was no longer there, and Becca was dying in his arms. He was loosing his little Sparrow.
