Bart woke up. Immediately he knew something was wrong. He looked around and saw he was in a tent by himself.
“Oh no, I can’t be back, that’s impossible the time machine was only a one way trip” He thought. More thoughts rapidly came to his head but were interrupted when Nathaniel opened the flap.
“Bart you overslept, you were supposed to take your shift fifteen minutes ago”
“What” Bart asked still confused. Suddenly he was walking with a bolder in his hands. He fell on his knees. Suddenly Blue Beatle appeared
“No! I was suppose to save you, I was suppose to stop all of this from happening” He said gesturing to the blown up mount justice.
“You failed” Blue Beatle replied. He laughs and aims his blaster at him. It was whirring up. Bart braced himself; he saw a bright blue light coming to hit him when suddenly he woke up.
“AHHHHHHHHHH!” Bart yelled. He was drenched in cold sweat. It felt so real. He was scared, so scared that he was shaking; shaking so hard that if he didn’t calm down he would vibrate through the bed. He looked around his surroundings. He was in his room; he was at his grandpa’s house, Barry’s house. A second later Barry was there at the doorway.
“Bart what happened? Are you okay?” He said. He speeded to Bart’s side.
“I’m fine, just, just had a nightmare” Bart said. His voice shook with fear.
“Get a hold of yourself Bart. Just pretend everything is fine” He thought to himself. Barry looked concerned. Bart tried to smile.
“Just the usual dream” He said. “Of me being back at the future” he thought
“The usual you know, me in my underwear, at school taking a test I didn’t study for.” He said smiling. Barry wasn’t looking convinced. It had to work; he seemed to believe it the last two times Bart thought. He smiled more.
“Sorry to wake you, tell grandma sorry if I woke her, she needs her sleep, especially with two buns in the oven, oh spoiler, oh wait I told you that already. Hey want me to tell you if you go bald?” He joked. Barry didn’t seem to believe that it was just a dream.
“Bart you were scared, frightened. I could see it in your eyes. Do you really expect me to believe you were that scared for a test” Barry said.
“I really wanted a good grade for it” Bart said. Barry sighed.
“Bart you’ve waken up screaming twice already. If something is bothering you, you can tell me”
“Nothing, it’s nothing” Bart said quickly.
“Bart you need to talk to me. I didn’t say anything about the two other times but I’m asking now” Barry said determined to find out what was wrong with Bart. “Bart talk to me”
“I can’t”
“Why?”
“It’s…future stuff” Bart said.
“Are you homesick? Nightwing was thinking of trying to help your time machine start working again”
“No!” Bart yelled. Barry looked alarmed. “Uh I mean the time machine is to advance, there isn’t any technology that can help beside, this time is better then my time” Bart quickly realized that he said that out loud. “Uh I mean” Barry was looking down at Bart arm. Bart followed his gaze down to his arm. His long sleeve was pulled up reveling some of the scars and bruises on his arm. Bart quickly pulled down the sleeve.
“Bart I now I’m not suppose to ask, but what happened, what will happen that’s so bad”
“I came here as a tourist”
“Really?” Barry said not buying it
“Look lets just say that the future is hard and me getting stuck here was really lucky”
Barry was silent; he knew that Bart wasn’t going to say anymore.
“Do you want to talk about the dream, unless you think that it’s going to bring up some spoilers?”
“Uh I can try" Bart said he was remembering his nightmare. "In the dream I’m back in the future and I’m late for something. Someone from this time, I see them in the future and they hadn’t changed I, I failed them and a lot of other people. I didn't stop” Bart stopped realizing he was about to say something about Barry's death. Bart was on the verge of tears. He realized he was saying too much “then I wake up. I know it doesn’t sound like a scream filled dream but I left a lot of stuff out” Bart said.
“I understand. Do you want me to wait here till you fall asleep?”
“Sure thanks” Bart layed back on the bed.
“You know your going to be a great dad”
“Thanks”
“I’m glad I met you, uh you know when you were in your prime”
