Kid Flash's POV
"Team," blasted a voice through my ear piece. "Report to the briefing room for your mission." I bolted out of bed. Finally a mission! After a whole week with nothing major happening. It better be a good one too. I slipped on my costume and headed across the hallway. I knocked on the silver door. "Just a second!" called a voice. Her voice. I smiled. "Hurry up Artemis! Do you want to be late for our first mission together?" The door opened, and Artemis stepped out in her costume. Man, she looks hot in green, I thought. "Let's go, Wally." she said, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the briefing room. "What? No kiss?" I pouted. Artemis laughed and kissed me. "Now let's go, or you won't get anymore kisses today." We entered the briefing room, unfortunately we were late. Everyone stared at us when we walked in. I suddenly realized we were still holding hands. A blush crept to my face, but Artemis said nothing. "The mission Batman." she said evenly. He narrowed his eyes. "You're going back to Cadmus." I looked over at Superboy. His eyes were cold and expressionless. Megan squeezed his hand as if to reassure him. "Why?" the young kryptonian asked. "We've gotten word there may be another clone there. A clone of you Superboy." The words shocked him. I watched as Batman continued. "Considering Superboy's powers, and if it is a clone of him, it will be very dangerous. You need to work in partners and keep each other safe." Artemis scrunched her nose. She always did that when she was thinking. "Batman," she said. "What if it's not an exact clone of Superboy? What if it got all of Superman's powers?" Batman stared at Artemis, and I instinctively clenched her hand harder. "If that is true, then call the League." We all nodded and Artemis walked out of the room. I was about to call her when Batman called me over. "Look Kid Flash," he started, coldness in his voice. "I see you and Artemis have gotten very close." My face reddened. "Um, yeah I guess we have." I stumbled. "Make sure you stay focused on the mission. This is dangerous. You can deal with your relationship later." I found myself nodded. "Yes, Batman. But, can I at least be her partner?" The dark knight nodded at my request. I grinned and headed out the door. "Artie!" I called. "Over here." she answered. She was polishing her arrows and tightening her bow string. "We're going to be partners." I said, sitting next to her. "Great!" she smiled. "Let's go guys." Kaldur commanded. We all headed out towards the BioShip.

"Guys, do you really think there's another clone?" Superboy asked. I stared back at him. "It's probable, Supey. I mean, you're a clone. So they probably made a clone of a clone, which would make you have a clone-ouch!" I rubbed my arm where Artemis had punched it. "Supey there probably is. But don't worry, you're probably more of a badass than it." Superboy smiled. "Approaching Cadmus." Megan called over her shoulder. "Well, let's go!" I said, hopping up. "Telepathic link established. Be careful guys." Megan said.

"Where are all the genomorphs?" I asked. Artemis stared at me like I was crazy. "What?" she asked. "You weren't here to see them. Creepy little aliens that control you." I explained. She nodded and walked ahead of me. "Let's go." she said, indicating to the elevator. I pressed the last button. Level 52. "So," I said. "A kiss for good luck?" Artemis stared at me. "Just one." She leaned up and pressed her lips to mine. The ding of our arrival to level 52 startled us both and we pulled away. "Let's go." I whispered. We had only taken a few steps from the elevator when a loud yell echoed through Cadmus. "Artemis!" I yelled. She turned, just in time to see a clone flying at her. She screamed as he collided into her. The Superboy clone raised his fist to hit Artemis. My blood turned cold. This could play any way now.
