Wally's POV
I had not left the Med-Bay since we had gotten back to the Cave. Artemis was being tested, to see if her mental stability would be okay. I stare at the ground as Martian Manhunter approaches me. He will know. But I'm scared to ask.
"Wally." the martian says clearly, gazing down at me. I look up and frown. "Well?" He clears his throat before speaking.
"It looks as if she will never recover."
I close my eyes slowly. My life could not get any worse. "Uncle Jon!" Megan calls excitedly. "Hurry!"
My eyes fly open and I jump to my feet. "Megan?" I ask, skidding to a halt next to Artemis' bed. My heart leaps to my throat. She looks absolutely beautiful. "Her mental stability is showing signs of increasing! She is regaining her conciousness!"
Artemis' gray eyes flutter open and linger on my face. She squeaks before leaping into my arms. I hug her tighter than before. "Artemis..." I breath, inhaling the scent of her hair. "Wally. It was terrible. I was so scared." she whispered. I release my hug and stare at her.
"I know it was, but you are safe now." I say, kissing her lips softly. Artemis sighs. A knock pulls us apart. I turn. It's Nikki and Jason. Their hands and locked together. "You better stay here." she whispers.
Nikki stares at the ground. "A-Artemis, I'm sorry." she whispered. "This is my fault. Sportsmaster never would have known about that if I hadn't become Tigress." My fist clenches and I see Jason glare at me. Guess he's in love with Nikki, just like I am with Artemis.
"It's okay," Artemis says, hugging Nikki. "I know what you've been through." The two stand off to the side and talk like they've known each other their whole lives.
"Wally." Jason says. "Jason." I return. "I'm sorry." he says. I roll my eyes. "Not your fault bro. Let's get this on the flipside, alright?" He nods.
But now I have to plan my revenge on Sportsmaster. Death is the best possible thing. If he wants to play control freak, we can play control freak. And he'll run back to his mommy crying,, I think angrily before returning to Artemis' side.
Because this isn't over. Not in a long shot.
