The Pendragon Men - Gonna Be A Rough S4E3

EPaws This is the the spoiler free review for the upcoming episode: Suffice it to say that The Wicked Day is Merlin at its best, synthesising comedy and tragedy incredibly effectively. This is most evident in the ever-reliable performances given by the two male leads, who simultaneously produce their funniest and most emotionally truthful performances in the show’s entire four year run. The other principal cast member involved in the main story delivers an absolutely exquisite performance that’s sure to move a sizable proportion of the audience to tears.

Melisey I am looking forward to this episode. But I will need tissues for this scene. I may not be Uther's biggest fan. But this will break my heart.

Nasty_Nat Me too, Melly I'm not Uther's biggest fan, but it will be sad if ever he dies. Arthur is not ready for it. I sense that once again, we will see great performances on that episode. Merlin is really getting better and better.

Arwen4-ever He can't die! I'm gonna watch it live in London, and i cant cry in front of my uncle(who btw have met Robert Pattinson) aunt and grandmother. So, Uther please dont die!

EPaws Oh shit. Shit. Shit...I am not ready for this. I am not. What is this damn series trying to do? Rip my fucking heart out or clean up at the Brit equiv of the academy awards next year? Cause they are going to. If Bradley is not nom'd for best actor or Angel. Someone dies! That is all I am going to say. I am not looking forward to this week. They have pulled all the stops out.

HumbleQueen I can't believe they're doing this. I am in denial. He's not going to die. All the spoilers point to it, but they're tricking us. I don't care so much about Uther, but we have to have Anthony around. Maybe he'll make lots of guest appearances as a ghost after he's gone. Maybe Arthur will still continue to see his father and talk to him even when no one else does.

EPaws I agree HQ. If Ygraine can appear, this is a magical world after all, so can bloody Uther! I am so worried about our young King in the making. He cannot lose everything. Thank god for Guinevere and Merlin.

EPaws I am bloody well going to cry, because I will miss Anthony. I am sure several members of the cast are going to miss him on a regular basis. He was SET DADDY. Ever listen to the dynamic duo when they speak of him? Their voices get very reverent and soft.

VampyreFey Oh... I'm already crying. Not sure what it's going to be like later tonight when I'm watching this. I'll need two boxes of tissues at least. :\ But it sounds like this is going to be a spectacular episode- where both the writers and actors get highly commended. It might even surpass all prior Merlin episodes for its brilliance. But it will be extremely emotional. ASH made for such a great Uther. I'll miss him terribly :\

Thayzee I didn't read the spoiler, so I had no freaking idea Uther would die, so I was shock to my core. I was so not ready for him to die; I'm still in dismay... I'm not Uther biggest fan, but I didn't want him to die so soon... They manage to do the impossible with Uther and yes EPaws Rip my fucking heart out...Who would have thought!!!!!! HQ, I too hope Anthony will make lots of appearances as a ghost talking/guiding/protecting Arthur. , I ‘m so freaking distraught, they have to have Anthony around. I can't freaking stop crying... Are they freaking kidding me? When they said it was going to be darker, wasn't an understatement was it?
