"YOU'RE WHAT?!" shouted Katara.
"I'm going to the Earth Kingdom to find an earthbending teacher!" explained Kaya for the second time.
"And you're going ALONE?" asked Katara.
"I'm not!" replied Kaya. "I'm going with Appa!"
"Well, who else you are going with?" asked Katara.
"Well, no one." Kaya confessed.
"You are not going alone!" demanded Katara.
"Oh come on mom, I'll be fine!" comforted Kaya. "Trust me!"
"Fine!" Katara finally agreed.
Kaya hopped on Appa, placed her stuff, and flew off.
It took about half an hour to reach to the Earth Kingdom. When they did, Kaya was surprised to see that they had buildings that doesn't melt!
But it was not the place she was searching for.
She landed on a near by villang and asked a near by passenger.
"Do you know where gaoling is?" aksed Kaya.
The passenger pointed at the dierction.
"Thank you!" Kaya greeted.
She hopped on Appa and flew to the direction. When she got there, she asked another near by passnenger where was the house located in Gaoling.
The passenger pointed at the direction. Kaya thanked him and flew on Appa. They reached the place that Kaya was lookiong for; when they landed, Kaya went up to the door and knocked softly. The door was answered by a boy fo her age. He had brown hair, green eyes, and white skin.
"Hi," greeted Kaya. "My name is Kaya."
"I'm Hiru." he greeted back.
"I'm looking for Toph Bei Fong." Kaya explained.
"I'm her son, comeon in, I'll introduce you to her."
Kaya came in and was astonished with the inside of the house. It was very different from her's back at the Southern Water Tribe. The walls were made of stone, it had a nice roof, and it was very warm inside. Kaya took off her heavy coat and followed Hiru.
"Mom," called Hiru. "Some came her to see you."
"I know who she is!" Toph cried out.
Kaya's hope was filled with joy until she was that Toph was blind.
"Hello," greeted Kaya. "I'm---"
"I know who you are!" Toph interupted. "I can see you!"
Kaya was bewildered. How can she see her
if Toph was blind ?
"Can you teach me earthbending?" asked Kaya.
"'Course. That is, if you keep up woth me!" Toph challenged.
Kaya was silent.
"But not now." Toph concluded.
"Why?" asked Kaya.
"'Cause I need to see some pals I haven't seen a long time ago!" answered Toph.
"Now?" Kaya asked.
"No next year! Of course now you knuckle head!" Toph snapped.
Kaya was offened at first, but then got over with it.
Kaya was packing her things when hiru came up behind her.
"Hey!" Hiru greeted.
"Hi Hiru." Kaya gtreeted back.
"So...it must be exciting to be the Avatar and stuff." Hiru suggested.
"It sure is!" Kaya mumbled sarcastically.
Kaya was going to place a bag on top of Appa, but she was having some trouble with it, for Appa was just too big for her size.
"Here, let me help!" Hiru offered himslef.
He earthbended a stone which made the bag go flying safely onto Appa's back.
"You're an Earthbender!" Kaya gasped surprisingly.
"Yup!" Hiru answered smiling.
"That's amazing!" Kaya was thrilled to see an earthbender in person for the first time.
"My mom taught me everything I know!" Hiru explained.
Kaya was confused, which made silence to fall.
"You know," Hiru began. "It's the first time I've seen a person from the Southern Water Tirbe."
"Really?" Kaya asked.
"Yeah," answered Hiru. "and a pretty one too!"
Kaya blushed.
There was another long silence.
"I've picked up something for you!" Hiru spoke breaking the silence.
Hiru handed Kaya a cute jasmine flower. The jasimne flower made Kaya remind her of Iroh; she began to weep.
"Is something wrong?" Hiru asked.
"It's that," began Kaya wiping off her tears. "That flower made me remind of someone that I miss the most."
"Oh." replied Hiru. "I miss someone a lot too."
"Really?" replied Kaya. "Who?"
"I don't want to talk about it." said Hiru softly.
"Oh." Kaya spoke softly.
"That jasmine flower made me remind me of you." Hiru spoke. "Because that flower was very beautiful, just like you."
Kaya blushed.
Hiru went up to her and moved his head towards her's. But Kaya backed away. Hiru did the same.
"We really should get packing." Kaya commented.
"Yeah." Hiru agreed.
And the two of them left.
