This episode is all about the Plumber’s helpers and how they make decisions in order to become official, real, Plumbers. We see how they work together, talk together, and earn the badges they have.
The message starts off with the helper team bickering, and then getting a message from Max. He is in trouble because Ben is ‘attacking’ him. The Plumber’s helpers have to save Grandpa Max, alone, because Gwen and Kevin are on a mission {Gwevin!} Although, that could easily be a lie. It’s the best excuse to use in showing that they cannot help the Plumber’s helpers.
*Important note: Where is Cooper? He is part of this Plumber’s helper team too, right?
Helen seems to be the smart one of the group at first because she is knowledgeable about the computer, but the next second she proves she is not that smart. She immediately disobeys Max’s simple orders. He said to stick together and work as a team. Pierce knows better though.
*Important note: Max's Plumber rank is revealed: He is a Magister, like Labrid and Ghilhil.
*Important note: Manny suggests Ben's turning evil is due to him having to "lay eggs again". Apparently, the Plumbers' Helpers are aware of the events of "Save The Last Dance".
When Helen thinks she is in the room Max said he was in, she finds Ben. Ben is legit evil! It’s scary to see him so serious about hurting her; he didn’t hold back, but he could have done worse.
Again, more separation. When Helen and Manny split due to Manny’s sweet-talk, Manny is found by Ben. Ben completely beats the crap out of Manny as Rath. This is the first time we see Rath’s transformation. This is also where they damage the satellite.
After that when they get together (except for Allan) Helen and Manny want to “fan out?” Helen says she can do better alone because she is fast…um sweetheart, remember when you just tried that? Do you remember that can of whoop-ass Ben opened on you when you were alone? Thank goodness Pierce was there to lead them. He reminds them of what Max said, and they then stuck together and found Allan.
Allan got lost from Pierce and was now wondering in a room full of plants. Ben finds him and turns into Big Chill,(personally, I thought Ben would go Swampfire because of the plants, but it doesn’t matter) and Ben started testing Allan mentally. When the rest of the helpers arrive and fight Ben, Ben ‘runs away’ by disappearing into the floor. Pierce says that Ben was intimidated, and that raises their confidence. They all stop to think, then get a good plan and head to the control room…where they find Ben waiting for them.
Now, they finally work as a team to fight Ben while following Pierce’s leadership. It must have been hard to trust Pierce (especially Manny) in this tough, scary situation, but they did and they sent Ben flying out of the satellite into space. With that, they also sent their ship into outer space, leaving them stranded.
With the satellite damaged and headed for Earth, Pierce determines that the only way to save the people of London, is to blow up the satellite. They are willing to sacrifice themselves to save millions of people, and the get their badges to the self-destruct mode and put them in the computer. This is when Max comes out, puts the satellite in a safe orbit, and explains it was all a test, and the helpers pass. Ben comes back to and there are hugs.
My opinion on this episode, was that it overall was okay. It didn’t blow me away and I didn’t see much wrong with it except the usual plot holes. It was a significant episode, but not overwhelmingly entertaining.
