Okay, so let me start by saying that I loved this episode. I liked it because it strayed back to the original series ‘Ben 10’ with its lightheartedness and comedy. This episode was SO hilarious. The storyline was also very diverse, even though in other ways it was stupid. And by stupid, I mean Ben. So on with the review!

So this starts off with the Forever Knights; the criminals we knew would come back. Like what was said in Alien Force, they are getting bolder by robbing a museum in the middle of the day. Also, like Kevin said in that episode of Alien Force, they aren’t getting any smarter…because they were robbing a museum midday. Seriously? What stupid villains. You never break into a place in broad daylight. That was a dim idea, but I get it because the rest of the show couldn’t happen at night.
So there is some major funny throughout the entire episode-I don’t think it ever stops being hilarious. It all begins with Ben’s funniest alien; Rath. He answers the phone funny, says his signature line, (if you don’t know what that is, I pity you) and gets all temperamental when he sees that the knights ran away. Speaking of which, when the knights run away, it is really funny. The old men feeding the birds don’t seem fazed; which is also funny.
So next scene. Julie is playing in the biggest tennis tournament of her life so far, when Ben comes in late. He meant well; he was fighting the knights and when all the attention was brought to him when he walked in-well-that’s not his fault. He is famous now and Julie should have understood that. Although, she did kind of have the right to be mad because she was upset. One choice or the other would have been appropriate, and they went with the second. Then Ben asks Kevin for girlfriend advice. I think Kevin is doing a good job at being in a long relationship, so he should take more credit than he thinks he should take.
The scene goes back to the Forever Knights, and I think the leader knight killed the other knight who tried to make a funny situation out of a bad one. Hey leader dude, a destroyed tank is nothing to murder over. Anger management!
Okay back to the tennis tournament. This is my favorite part; Gwen and Kevin start arguing, and Ben walks away! I don’t know why I like that so much, but I think it’s because the writers tried really hard to show that Gwen and Kevin were arguing, by making their body language extra ‘I’m mad at you.’ Then Ben does a DB move by saying he wants to leave the tournament and watch Sumo Slammers! Thank goodness Julie wasn’t there or she would have cried. (I think their relationship will be over soon.) That is really selfish of Ben to want to do. But this leads to Gwen saying Ben’s full name! Kirby! His middle name is Kirby to those of you who didn’t already know. That adds to the humor of the episode! This is where Ben’s idea comes into play. He goes to the bathroom and changes into three Echo Echos, and sets his Ultimatrix to human and… I don’t know I call that black magic. It was cool how he could do that though. Every other time that he has to change back from Echo Echo, doesn’t he need to combine all the Echo Echos and then turn human? I’m pretty sure. So this showed how newly elite his powers have become with the Ultimatrix. From the start, I immediately liked the rude attitude Ben the best. I guess it’s because I relate the best to that part of him than the other two. Most fans would probably hate me right now because of that.
So anyway, another funny moment is when Kevin sees mean Ben go off with Gwen and doesn’t really question it. The smart Ben walks out of the bathroom to go to the movies in a funny way. Constant humor; like I said before.
Later on back at Julie’s Ben was rooting for her, and it was SO funny. Then still funnier when he goes to the top of the stands and insults Julie’s opponent. More funny when the referee tells Julie she must be very proud (about Ben.)
Then, oh my! Biggest DB move EVER! Ben flirts with other girls in front of Julie AND says, “Hey, things can ch-“ but Gwen cut him short. I can’t believe he would say something like that! I mean, I was fine with it, but that was a total tool move! Even though his personalities were split, I thought he still had a brain. Still, all his sweet sensitiveness was taken from him.
This is the single best scene/conversation ever in the history of Ben 10. I’m serious; when sensitive Ben and Kevin are at the museum and they have that little convo-I was never so amused before. Ben talks about how long they’ve known each other, and how Kevin was criminally insane, and best of all, how they could someday be relatives because of Gwen! I love that they said something about that. I strongly believe that Gwevin will last, but not Benlie. Ben also said that Kevin’s mutation was his fault.
Back at tennis again, Ben says the most hurtful thing-he shouts that Julie wasn’t supposed to win. He was mad that Gwen had shot the two girls with her manna. Now, I don’t know what that is supposed to mean, but I thought Julie would break out in tears right then. I’d be devastated.
Ben: “Sound really carries in here.”
Knights are in the tunnel; blah, blah, blah.
So back to sensitive Ben! The most hilarious part of that convo is when Kevin snaps and when he puts his hands on his face when he says ‘feelings.’ Watching Kevin be creeped out was funny.
But to top that, Ben turned into Humongasaour and sung his name. I laugh about that every five minutes. Then they fall through the ground to the knights, and after the fight, Ben hits his head on a pipe.
Kevin: “When did you get to be such a baby?”
Ben: “Well it hurt!”
They boys let the evil Knight get in the suit because Kevin had to complain and get in an argument about Ben showing the Knight a sign. They find out that aliens were in Central America-which was random to me because I thought they were everywhere. Then we see Kevin absorb something that seems to be the same material as what the Forever Knight is wearing, so we know that the suit is metal for later on when Ben turns into Lodestar. Then nice Ben calls the other Bens and Julie sees Ben go.
The old men feeding the birds are still there…I was waiting for them to turn into aliens or something because they were just chillin’ all day not being phased. AW! That’s Ben and Kevin in 60 years! They’ll be sitting on a bench feeding birds! Awww.
Then Kevin and Ben come out; Ben meets with the other Bens but Kevin is running for his life! That was really funny.
Most people would think that three Bens with the Ultimatrix would be killer, but it was proven wrong in this episode. Fighting with his different personalities just causes them to get in each other’s way.
There was a lot of physical friendship during the next fight scene. Kevin helps up Upchuck, and later, Ben keeps his hand on Kevin’s back a little too long after helping him sit up. It was so much contact that I noticed it, but I know that they are just very good friends who care about each other in a no-homo way.
Back to the fight, Kevin’s car gets hurled at the Knight (which name I know but don’t really remember unless I would use it) like usual, and Kevin adorably faints. Ben destroys the dude suit, and the old men throw seeds at Kevin.
The episode ends at the tennis court. Julie understands and forgives Ben, which I need to address. I think that this show displays women as weak in relationships. Gwen took it when Kevin cheated on her, and now Julie is taking it when Ben is being a total DB. The girls took the boys back for pretty good reasons-Kevin was going through a lot with his mutation, and Ben had publicity. But Ben doesn’t really have much of a good reason or excuse to be mean to Julie in any way. Even though he had gone to the movies during her match, he didn’t have to tell her that. Spare her feelings. I don’t think Kevin should have gotten off so easy, even though we don’t know what happened after ‘In Charm’s Way.’ Hopefully Ben gets what’s coming to him. The episode closes with a regretful Ben who had just been told that he is insensitive by Kevin.
Overall, the show was fun and amusing, but we saw a bad side of Ben. I really liked the episode and I give it a high rating, because there wasn’t anything bad about it; I found no mistakes in graphics or when the characters spoke. I’m hoping that the writers come back to the Ben and Julie problem.
