It was the day of the big and grand party for the Christmas holidays almost a month early. Caitlin Black had been able to convince Albus Dumbledore to let her and her friends go home early for the holidays. Their schoolwork and all were going to be sent by the owls and Caitlin had her uncle to help her if she did not get something. It had been a few years since her and George had gotten together. She was still happily in love with him. They played pranks and had so much fun together at school. They had fights like regular couples did. One of their fights caused Caitlin to have to go to the Yule Ball with Harry. She only went with Harry to help Harry make Cho Chang jealous. This fight had happened last school year and it almost ruined their entire relationship. For this party she was going with her boyfriend George Weasley. She was wearing a red lace dress. It went a little past her knees but it did not reach to the floor. Her hair fell down her back in waves and she had the picture perfect look for the night. The dress covered her scars up perfectly. Part of her hair was pulled back behind her head. She was wearing her mother’s red necklace. She looked very breathtaking and beautiful.
Sirius had found the necklace among her father’s stuff. Caitlin had decided that her father wanted to have the memories of her mother and her mother’s items close to him. It was a touching and heartwarming thought that made Caitlin realize how much her father had loved, cared for, and missed her mother.
She walked down the stairs of the house. The house was decorated beautifully. The ballroom was where the main events where going to be held. Her hand trailed down the railing as she walked. She reached the bottom of the stairs with a huge smile gracing the features of her face. She saw her boyfriend’s jaw drop to the floor as he took in her look. She blushed but smiled again. “Wow you look beautiful”, George said as he walked over to her. She smiled at the compliment that was given to her. She was pulled into the warm and loving arms of her boyfriend. She smiled at him again as Mrs. Weasley smiled at her and fussed over her hair trying to make sure that it was looking perfect and decent.
She blushed as her uncle came over and gently hugged her stopping Mrs. Weasley’s fussing over her hair. She grinned and hugged her uncle back. Her uncle was wearing one of his suits that had a blazer instead of the formal jacket. His hair was groomed and cut short. He had a casual grin on his face. “Your parents would be so proud of you right now”, he whispered against her ear. Her parents had been killed not even a year after she was born. She had always held her parents in high regard no matter what others thought of her parents.
She pulled away from her uncle and went back into the arms of her loving boyfriend. She rested her head against his shoulder knowing that the party was going to start in a few minutes. The Daily Prophet was covering the event. The flash from the cameras of the Daily Prophet were blinding the eyes of everyone in the room.
She started to get comfortable but the screeching of her grandmother brought her out of her thoughts. She opened her mouth to say a suggestion about putting a charm around the portrait but saw that Mrs. Weasley was already taking care of it for her. The Daily prophet took pictures of everything that was happening. She smiled feeling like everything was perfect. However, she could not help but feel like drama was going to happen during the night. She knew that she did not want to go through another patch of drama again. Caitlin hated drama and she tried to avoid drama whenever she possibly could. She was guided up the flight of stairs by George until they reached the area were the party was going to be held.
The ballroom was elegantly but at the same time casually decorated. There was a makeshift but strong looking stage at the far end of the room. There were tables set up along the sides of the room. Chairs were placed next to the table and food was on a couple of tables. She walked into the ballroom and found a place for her to sit. She sat down and George sat right next to her. “There is going to be a couple of pranks pulled tonight in honor of your uncle”, George whispered into her ear as he pulled her close to him. She grinned knowing that it was going to be an interesting night.
She watched as people started to come in. She could not wait to have a lot of fun. Especially with helping her boyfriend play a few pranks and doing a few jokes for the crowd. There was laughter and Christmas cheer going throughout the room. She stood up and greeted some people as the Weird Sisters played their songs in the background. She talked up the good qualities of her uncle up to the guests who came into the room. She was ready for a night full of fun and laughter.
She looked over at the door and saw the person that she least wanted to see right now. It was Troy Capulet. She could see that he had brought his twin Miranda, his older sister Anna, his older brother Ryan, and his little sister Helena. His parents were also with him. The Capulets all had the same arrogant smirk that would make anyone fall for what they had to say or do. She knew that was a reason why she had fallen for the handsome young man. She had gotten over him ever since the bad incident at the pool. She knew that he had not even said sorry for doing what he had done. She knew that she could not forgive Troy for what he had done to her. He had almost gotten her killed. She ignored him and excused herself from the conversation. She gracefully walked towards the door with a smile on her face. She had to go check on Ron. Ron was still in his room getting ready. She knew that he did not take this long to get ready for a party so she was worried about her redheaded friend.
