1. Gulliver's Travels from 1939 made by the Max Fleischer studio. Based on the novel by Jonathan Swift, this film is my top favorite out of the two films the Fleischer brothers had ever made

2. Bambi from 1942 made by the Walt Disney Studio and based on the book by Felix Salten. Now I had wanted to read the original book the movie is based on, so I'd ordered it online.

3. Cinderella. I know fairy-tales are part of literature and Charles Perrault's story of Cinderella is one of my favorite fairy-tales; it's another favorite literary film from Disney

4. Alice in Wonderland from 1951 from Disney. It was hard to choose between the Disney version, the 1972 and the 1999 (both in live action) adaptation of Lewis Carroll's bizarre fantasy story...but I love Disney's version

5. Peter Pan - Disney's version of J.M. Barrie's story from 1953

6. The Snow Queen or in Russian Snezhnaya koroleva. This film was made in 1957 in Russia's Soyuzmultfilm Studios and it's based on one of my favorite Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale.

7. Sleeping Beauty - my top favorite Disney film based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault

8. The Sword in the Stone from 1963 made by Disney; based on the first book in T.H. White's The Once and Future King series

9. Havoc in Heaven or in Chinese Dà nào tiān gōng. Made in 1965 by China's Shanghai Animation Film Studio and based on Wu Cheng'en's Journey to the West

10. The Jungle Book made by Disney in 1967. I know it's not like the original Kipling story but it's my favorite adaptation

11. The Wonderful World of Puss 'n Boots made in Japan in 1969, based on the fairy-tale by Charles Perrault

12. The Phantom Tollbooth - Chuck Jones' adaptation on Norton Juster's book with live-action in the beginning and ending

13. Charlotte's Web - Hanna/Barbera's adaptation of E.B. White's book made in 1973

14. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - a Disney "package-feature" based on the wonderful "Pooh" stories by A.A. Milne

15. Watership Down, a 1978 film featuring two of my favorite British actors - John Hurt (Hazel) and Richard Briers (Fiver)

16. The Secret of NIMH - Don Bluth's adaptation of Robert C. O'Brien's "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH"... I thought the film is awesome!

17. The Last Unicorn - Rankin/Bass' adaptation of Peter S. Beagle's fantasy novel
