Chapter 2
The light went on at the last moment and that one was saved by a miracle. I knew him perfectly. But, what was he doing there, when everybody should be home, with their families????
Xx : Hey, wait! What are you doing?
Ma : You scared me!
Xx : That wasn`t my intention!
Ma : But, you did it! What are you doing here, Pablo?
Pa : What a character! What`s wrong with you?
Ma : Nothing`s wrong with me! Will you answer?
Pa : I imagined you would be here!
Ma : Why?
Pa : Come on, Marizza! I know you and you hate to say “goodbye”!
Ma : Yes, I hate it! And?
Pa : Nothing! I imagined you would be alone and I came to keep you company!
Ma : And your friends didn`t organize you a goodbye party like the ones they usually do?
Pa : What are you talking about?
Ma : You can`t lie me! I know what happened before the last journey!
Pa : And what happened, according to your brilliant mind?
Ma : Your friends, Tomas and Guido, organized a party in a cabaret, you got drunk and ended up sleeping with a prostitute!
Pa : And you how do you know?
Ma : See, I`m right!
Pa : don`t try to change the conversation! Who told you? It wasn`t Manuel, was he?
Ma : Excatly, Manu!
Pa : Oh, no! I`m going to kill him, I swear!
Ma (laughing) : Come on, it`n not like that!
Pa : Why are you laughing?
Ma : Your behaviour is funny! You and Manuel are friends, you are going to kill him, just because he said something to me?
Pa : It`s not just “something”! I didn`t want you to know!
Ma : Please, it`s not the first time you do it, I`m not surprised!
Pa : But the guys planned all that!
Ma : Enough! I`m not interested in your private life, so it ends here!
Pa : What? But, i don`t want you to think the worst of me!
Ma : Pablito, with the stupid things you do, nothing yours can surprise me anymore!
Pa : Really? Nothing? Are you sure?
Ma : Of course I am! 100%!
Pa : And this?
Before I could realize what was happening, Pablo kissed me. For a moment, I followed that kiss, but then I realized what was happening and pushed him.
Ma : What do you think you are doing?
Pa : Didn`t this surprise you?
Ma : Of course it did! I wasn`t waiting for it!
Pa : And you, who were so sure that nothing mine could surprise you!
Ma : Look, the fact that you kissed me, doesn`t mena anything, so don`t you think you made a miracle!
Pa : You won`t tell me that you didn`t like it, will you?
Ma : The only thing I`m going to tell you, is to leave immediately!
Pa : But I came from y house, which is pretty far! You won`t pretend I get back, no?
Ma : Loook at you! I pretend it! Dissapear, now!
Pa : Don`t even dream about it! I came here, so I`m staying!
Ma : All right, but don`t stay near me!
Pa : Fine!
We both went to different sides of the room. I got near the window, while Pablo was at the door. We stayed that way for a while, when everything became dark.
Ma : Pablo, what are you doing?
Pa : Nothing!
Ma : Turn the light on!
Pa : It`s not off! There is no electricity!
Ma : Oh, no! The last thing I need is to be in darkness!
Pa : Does darkness fear you so much?
Ma (didn`t realize what was saying) : Yes, it does!
Pa : Well, at lease, excist something that you are afraid of!
Ma : I`m not afraid!
Pa : You admitted it!
Ma : What will we do now?
Pa : We'll stay watching the stars!
Ma : Are you feeling all right? Watching the stars?
Pa : Yes!
He sat beside me.
Pa : Can I stay here, or will you throw me something?
Ma (smiling) : Know what, sometimes, you can be funny!
Pa : I didn`t know that!
We both started laughing.
Pa : Hey, look at that star which is ready to fall!
Ma : And?
Pa : When a star is falling, you have to make a wish and then it comes true!
Ma : Really?
Pa : Yes, think on yours!
Ma : Ok!
Pa (thinking) : Hope Marizza realizes that I love her!
Ma (thinking) : Hope Pablo kisses me again!
Pa : That`s it! I said it!
Ma : Me too!
Pa : Now, let`s sleep!
Ma : What?
Pa : Of course we have to sleep! You won`t pretend we will go to an important journey without sleeping a while?
Ma : All right!
I put my head at Pablo`s shoulder and we slept there until morning, when a voice waked us up.
