Why did it happen?
Cameron starred unseeingly on the mirror of her bathroom. She hasn’t slept the night before, not even for a brief minute, after she reached the other side of the bed and it was empty. She sat frightened in her bed when she felt only the softness of the sheets without Chase’s body lying there as usual, until she gathered her thoughts to remember that it’s all over.
A few hours before she was signing the divorce papers. She felt so sad as she rolled that pen on the paper that she could hardly suppress the tears forming in her eyes. She washed her face unaware of what she was doing. What happened? Why did it happen? She thought sorely, the house they’ve dreamed of, the one full of happens to live like two love bids in a small house sharing their life together, but it wasn’t this way, it turned to hill with all their fights, doubts, and mostly misunderstanding that happened between them.
Cameron’s feelings were very confused that morning, she realizes now that her love to Chase is far from fading. Especially if she is going to see him every day in her work and have to work with him, like nothing has happened between them. She knew that it would awkward and very much uncomfortable, also very painful. I’d quite, she gave up, it’s the only way to get over him, I have to be as far as possible from him.
“No need to do so” House said when Cameron stepped into his office and sat on the chair in front of him to confess her desire of leaving.
“What do you mean by that?” She looked at him wonderingly
“I mean, Chase was faster, he quit his job and went back to Australia” He said sorely
Cameron felt that the whole world means nothing to her she wants no one but Chase “Why would e do that?” she argued
“He didn’t say, but he looked sad”
She slightly bent her head to cover her face as her sight became blurry because of the tears forming in her eyes. House gave a sorry sigh, and she rose to her feet then ran to the ladies rest room, to cry out all the tears she wanted to weep when she signed the papers.
