Chase got paged down to the front desk in the lobby only to find that Cam was sitting there waiting for him. Chase was not a happy Chase to see her. She asked if they could go somewhere and talk, so they went into an empty clinic exam room. She asks him why he still hasn't signed the divorce papers she sent him a while ago and he says it's on his "to do" list but he hasn't gotten to it yet. Heh. She tells him she brought another copy and wants him to sign those so she can take it with her, but Chase says he won't sign them until they have a proper discussion about their marriage. This pisses Cameron off, who then puts the divorce papers on the exam table & tells him she made a mistake coming to see him so she's just going to leave.
Except she tries to leave and finds that a hospital lockdown just started. She's less than thrilled to be stuck in there with Chase.
After a while, Chase frustratedly breaks the silence by telling her that they were working on it (their marriage) but then all of a sudden she has one conversation with House and comes home to tell Chase he's been poisoned, then packs up and leaves. They have a very snarky and pissed off volley of words. It's amusing.
More time passes. Cameron breaks the silence this time by jumping up and announcing that she'll answer any questions he has for her if he'll just sign the damn divorce papers after they finish talking. Chase's first question: "Did you ever even love me?" And then shit gets real. She's shocked he would ask that, but he tells her it's a valid question since the first time she slept with him she was high on crystal meth - which she tries to defend by saying the drugs made her emotional and the sex happened because of the emotions, not the drugs. Chase calls bullshit. Tells her even later on she always refused to let their relationship go anywhere beyond sex. Cameron again counters, saying that was only because she knew she was falling in love with him and she didn't WANT to. Chase calls bullshit again and says THAT is exactly the problem, because it never stopped. She canceled a vacation because he bought her a ring. She doubted him even days before their wedding because she couldn't let go of the idea of having her dead husband's baby.
Now Cam is pissed. Yelling at him not to talk about PDH and not to bring any of that up because it's not relevant. Chase disagrees. He thinks that's exactly what it's all about - she married a dying man, and a year later he was gone, so her relationship with that guy was never anything more than a love-filled honeymoon and Chase never stood a chance of living up to those standards. Cameron keeps yelling at him and crying, then Chase yells at her to just tell him the truth - did she ever really love him? Her sobbing response: "I don't know."
In the next scene with them, Chase is calmly sitting on the exam table and Cam is up against the wall crying. She asks him how he can seem so okay after what she just said to him, and he tells her that he spent the past several months torturing himself trying to figure out how he messed up their relationship.... but if she honestly never loved him, then he didn't do anything wrong and it's not his fault. She starts sobbing again, and Chase adorably goes over to her and tries to comfort her by saying that it's really okay. She tells him it's not, because it wasn't true and she doesn't know why she even said it - of course she loved him, she just loved him in a way that never could have worked because everything he said about her was true. That she's a horrible mess who's totally screwed up and eventually pushed him right out of her life, so it's her that's unfixable - not him. They apologize to each other, then Chase walks across the room and she watches with tears streaming down her face as he finally signs the divorce papers.
More time passes, they're comfortably and quietly sitting in the exam room when Cameron randomly asks Chase what he liked most about their time together. He smiles and says he always loved how he would wake up in the middle of the night and she'd just knowingly wrap her arm around him without even waking up. Or how she stood up to her father last Christmas when he was yelling at her mom, and she was always so strong but never thought she was. Chase asks her then what she misses, and Cameron admits that she misses so many things - but whenever she thinks about how much she misses him, she always thinks about the dance classes they took for the wedding and how she can't help thinking "...he's never going to hold me like that again."
Chase looks at her for a moment, then goes and fetches his iPod from his lab coat. Picks out a song (Elvis Costello's "Alison") and walks over to ask her to dance. She laughs through her tears, then takes his hand and they slow dance all cozy and adorably. After the dance, they're still holding each other and she tells him they never did get a proper goodbye - then she smiles and kisses him on the cheek before pulling back to stare in his eyes. He takes the hint, then kisses her. They kiss for several moments before Cameron pulls back and slowly walks away, leaving Chase looking totally heartbroken yet again.
Until he realizes she's only walking away to lock the door. And I've never seen anyone lock a door as seductively as our Cameron did it in that moment. SO HOT. And she's eye!sexing Chase with her sexy eyes and he's in shock for a few seconds before he pounces on her and they have all the sex.
The last scene is of them lying naked under a blanket on the exam table as a guard knocks on the door to tell them that the lockdown is over. She's lying on his chest with her hand over his heart as she sadly tells him "I should go" and he agrees just as sadly before running his fingers through her hair and pulling into an even tighter cuddle. Neither of them move to get up.
