Later on that night, Spencer didn't want to go to sleep. He didn't want to risk having another nightmare like the one he had about his mother and Maeve. He knew he had to sleep though. And deep down, he wanted to have pleasant dreams. "If the alarm blares tomorrow mornin', you're sleepin' with someone else." Derek scolded. "Again-it's not my fault!" Spencer muttered to himself. Spencer didn't have the time to think about forgetting. He wanted to get this possible nightmare over with.
Spencer started having these nightmares just before the BAU team was to go to Chattanooga, Tennessee to solve a case. Some were pretty gruesome. Some Spencer didn't even want to talk about. That's how bad they were. After some time, Spencer couldn't take his fatigue anymore and went to sleep. He slept good for a while. Unfortunately, that's when another nightmare began.
This nightmare was similar to the hallucinations he had. It was another "world" too bright for him. "Where am I?" he asked in a ghost form again. And the person in his dream was Tobias Henckel! "I'll never forgive you for what you did to me!" Tobias shouted. Spencer turned around. His eye got big. "YOU!" he said mortified.
"Why? WHY did you kill me?" the "good" Tobias tearfully asked. "I had to. It's apart of my job." Spencer answered. Tobias held out held a gun at Spencer. "No! Please don't do this, please don't!" he pleaded. Tobias had pulled the trigger and... Spencer awoke screaming softly. He breathed heavily as he realized it was just a dream. *When am I going to stop having these nightmares?* he asked himself as he wiped more sweat off his face and pulled the covers back to cool off. The "real" Spencer lied back down on the bed drenched in sweat.
Derek was snoring loudly, but Spencer didn't care. He lied there for what seemed like 2 hours thinking about his past nightmares and listening to Derek snore. The doc was finally tired again and he put the covers over him as he went back to sleep. After he was asleep again, no more nightmares occurred. Thankfully, when Spencer had a nightmare and woke up form it, they never happened again! The next morning, Spencer and Derek both were awakened by the Love And Theft song "Runaway" blaring out. Derek let out a small moan as Spencer looked for the snooze button.
"Why do you always forget to turn the damn volume down?" Derek asked in a cranky tone as Spencer hit the snooze button. "It's not my fault!" Spencer argued. "Yes it is!" Derek said quietly under his breath as he rubbed his eyes. Spencer went to the bathroom and splashed hot water on his face. He got ready alittle slower this time, but still managed to be right on time. When he came out of the bathroom, he noticed that Derek was in sweatpants instead of his usual get-up. He stared at the outfit.
"Why wear that?" he asked. "I felt like changin' it up alittle bit." Derek answered. The two headed out the door and off to the Chattanooga police station. Derek noticed Spencer looking worse than ever. "Another nightmare?" he asked. "Not that I know of." Spencer answered. "Don't lie to me." Derek said in a serious tone. "Yeah..." Spencer answered again. He then told Derek about this nightmare. "What? Tobias Henckel is dead." Derek said. "Not in this nightmare that I had. He obviously came back from the dead." Spencer replied. Derek looked at him. "All of this'll be between us." he stated. Spencer smiled in thanks. The two got to the police station afew minutes later.
