That afternoon, the BAU had the rest of the day off. Spencer and Derek went back to their hotel room. Spencer made it a point to call his mother and tell her about his horrific nightmares. He went somewhere private, got out his phone, and called her number. "Hello?" Mrs.Reid said into the phone. "Hi mom." Spencer replied. "Spencer! How nice to hear from you!" Mrs.Reid stated in an ecstatic tone. Spencer felt the needed closure coming in, much to his relief.

"Yeah. Um, listen. I have to tell you something." he said. "Oh, what might that possibly be?" Mrs.Reid asked. "I've been having alot of these nightmares and...They're actually pretty gruesome." Spencer answered. Mrs.Reid listened carefully. "Do they happen often?" she asked. "They do." Spencer answered in a relentless tone. "Have they been about past events?" Mrs.Reid asked. "Pretty much. And REALLY bad events." Spencer answered.

"What have they been about?" Mrs.Reid asked. Spencer gathered up all he could about what he remembered from his nightmares. "They've been about certain people...Giving up on me..." Spencer answered in a sad tone. "And last night, one person was you." he sadly continued. He NEEDED to get that out. "Spencer, just know this-no matter what happens, I'll NEVER give up on you." Mrs.Reid reassured. Spencer felt his pride coming back.

"Thanks!" he thanked. "Who else have they been about?" Mrs.Reid asked once more about the nightmares. "Maeve and Tobias Hanckle." Spencer answered. Mrs.Reid had a fright. "That unsub with the various personalities?" she asked in a horrified tone. "Yes." Spencer answered. He began telling Mrs.Reid about the nightmare he had of Tobias.

After that, he told her about the nightmare he had of Maeve. Then, he told her about the nightmare he had of her AND Maeve. "What do I do?" he asked. "I suggest you see a sleep therapist when you get back from Chattanooga." Mrs.Reid answered urgently. "That's what I thought." Spencer stated. "You should do it. This sounds pretty urgent." Mrs.Reid replied. "Thanks mom!" Spencer thanked. "Just know that I would NEVER abandon you either!" Mrs.Reid reached out. Spencer smiled as they hung up.

Spencer took a moment to embrace the closure that just came to him. *I really needed to reach out to someone else I really trust.* he secretly thought. This was the first time he felt good since who knows when. He walked back into the main room. As he did, he hid snickers as he caught Derek watching a movie called "The Last Airbender". Ironically, Derek heard a bit of the snickering. "Come on Reid. It was the only thing that looked good on TV." he said.

This time, Spencer had to laugh. "I can't wait to tell the rest of the team! Derek Morgan watches science fiction!" he joked through laughs. He laughed once again. Derek snorted as he turned away and continued watching the movie.
