Well back at the time he said it, I was very mad, but now when I look back at it, I can just laugh at Stefan's stupidity. Not only does he not understand that, unlike his relationship with Elena, DE aren't build on moral standards, but he also doesn't realize that because SE are built on those, they will collapse one day.
