If ever you wanted to believe that actors get along off screen the same way they do on it, Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen are your dream come true. “We Tweet a lot back and forth,” Ruah says. “Our banter in real life is similar to what’s on the screen, because we have that chemistry together.” To prove it, she pulls up a pic of the day Olsen playfully put up traffic cones between their chairs on set.
Right now, Ruah says, this sibling-like teasing “is our real relationship. But it will be a lot more interesting for viewers if it does become romantic on the show. So a part of me wants to not be too sisterly with him on screen. Otherwise there’s not anywhere to go.”
As for their current bond, says Olsen (who’s been dubbed “Shaggy” for his haircut), “There’s some Scooby-Doo- we’re a guy and a girl, solving crimes, and we’ve got a van- but I prefer to think of us as The Avengers.”
But are Kensi and Deeks really headed for a Peel and Steed-style romance? “I would always keep hope alive in those kinds of relationships,” says creator Shane Brennan. “It’s quite possible that anything could happen.”
Sounds like a definite maybe!
