The prelim matches are drawing to a close. So where does everyone stand with each other?
Unknown Basement floor: Selene was seven at the time. Larxene had been off on a mission, so she was home alone with her father, Jason. Twilight Town was usually in a state of perpetual sunset. But one day, a storm hit the cheery world, causing everyone to barricade themselves inside. Selene watched the storm through the window in her room. She flinched every time a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky.
"Huh. That's odd." Selene turned at the sound of her father's voice and saw him standing in the the doorway. "Are you scared of lightning?" Selene lowered her head. "It's stupid, I know. But whenever I see one, I feel like its going to hurt me." Jason turned the girl to face him. "Are you scared of your mom?" Jason asked, "Do you think she's going to hurt you?" Selene shook her head vehemently. "Of course not! Why did you ask me that, dad?" Jason pointed to the storm clouds, where lightning continued to dance. "Your mom is not of this world. Essentially, she is lightning. She came into my life like lightning, and we've been together since." Selene saw the lightning with new eyes. From that day forward, she was unafraid, even came to love, lightning like she loved her mother Larxene.
Ninth Basement entrance hall: Jason noticed the two clocks on the wall and swore. One read 3hrs30mins, and the other read 70hrs30mins. "I've never heard you say words like that." Jason turned around to find Larxene reclining against one of the walls. "Yeah, well. I didn't realize my battle with Luxord ate up so much of my time." Jason looked down at his remaining World cards. Which one to use? "So why haven't you used the card I gave you?" she questioned sweetly. Jason spared Larxene a glance. That was about all he had time for before she pinned him to the wall. "I would have thought that you wanted me to use my own strength?" he asked weakly from his new place on the wall(upside down, at that). Larxene thumped Jason's forehead a couple times. "Of course, that much should be obvious," Larxene growled, "But being strong isn't just about throwing punches like an idiot. If you aren't willing to accept help when you need it, you will die." Jason tried to unstick himself from the wall while saying, "I haven't needed help yet. But I will use it if I need it. No can you they me off of this wall? Please?" Larxene smiled, and picked up one of the dropped World cards. "I will if you catch me," she stated as she opened the door and walked through it.
Unknown basement floor: Marluxia opened his eyes as Selene finished her anecdote. "Jason was right, you know. To him, Larxene is indeed an extraterrestrial. An alien, if you will." Selene banished the images of little green men from her head before responding, "You realize the inverse is true? You call my father a human, and he is, but to the Organization he's an E.T. as well, especially to my mother." Marluxia looked up, surprised that Selene had picked up on it. Then he smiled. It was only to be expected of the girl who was practically his niece.
Neverland: It had taken Jason sometime to unstick himself from the wall. Fifteen minutes in fact. But upon entering the world he was struck by the sight in front of him. He was on a rock surrounded by water, and islands of various shapes and sizes surrounded him. He could not see Larxene anywhere, nor could he find a way off the rock. As he looked around, he saw a little golden light headed towards him. When it was level with his face, he saw it was a little blond pixie that was wearing a leaf as clothing. "Oh. Who are you?" Jason asked. The pixie swarmed around Jason, covering him in golden dust. He watched in wonder as he began to float, then saw the pixie point in a rather agitated manner towards a forest covered island off in the distance. "Oh, you want me to go over there? Okay, then." With an almighty whoop, Jason launched off his rock and flew off towards the island.
First floor: "Zexion, is it?" Zexion nodded in confirmation to the question from Nicole, Jason's mother. James, Jason's father, continued to meditate on something. "Can't you do something to get us out of these ropes?" Zexion shook his head. "To clarify, getting out of these ropes requires no effort. But my erstwhile Organization is watching, so we may as well be sealed in little boxes." James opened his eyes. "If that's the case I have something I want to say," the redhead growled. Zexion motioned the man to go ahead. "My boy has become an adult, so I don't have a say in what he does. But nevertheless, I really don't approve of the woman he's chosen." He could disapprove all he wanted, but James really could not do a thing about it. Selene existed, after all. "But I can't approve you two dating either!" James finished as he glared at Zexion and Serenna. Serenna blushed furiously and looked away, but Zexion merely stated, "As to be expected of the father of Jason." The two men glared at each other while Nicole sent a look to Serenna and her daughter Eileen that said, "Boys. Am I right?"
Jungle island: Jason made his way through the trees. The pixe had outflown him and he had run out of pixie dust, grounding him. After hacking through the growth, he came upon a clearing. A boy in green clothing was tied up, surrounded by Pirate Heartless of both the normal and flying variety. «Well, here goes nothing,» Jason thought as he unsheathed his knives. First thing he did was cut the ropes binding the boy. "Thanks. My name is Peter Pan," Peter Pan(duh) responded. Jason was dueling a Pirate heartless but found time to say, "Well, Peter Pan, thank me by helping me destroy these things!" Peter Pan took out his tiny knife and stuck the fingers of the other hand in his mouth before whistling. The pixie from earlier came out of nowhere. "Hey Tinkerbell, mind getting us out of this jam?" Tinkerbell responded by flying around the two boys, saturating them in pixie dust. Both boys made short work of the Heartless. "Impressive, Jason." They looked, startled, to find Larxene standing on a branch. She gestured invitingly to Jason. "Follow me."
Fourth basement floor: Axel stood around as he waited for his best friends to arrive at his position. Before long, first Roxas then Xion showed up. "Why did you call us here?" Roxas asked. Axel gestured to Xion, who was still a little traumatized from being hit by her own Keyblade. "You really don't have to go so far just for me," Xion said shakily. Roxas echoed what Axel was thinking: "Of course we're going this far for you. We're willing to go even farther for you." He looked at Axel. The redhead looked dead serious when he said, "You want to avenge Xion, Roxas? Then help me drive Jason to utter ruination."
Skies above Neverland: Jason soared with elation and affection in his heart. Elation since he was flying in the first place, and affection for Larxene who was flying with him. The two flew patterns throughout the air, sometimes only an inch away from touching before parting again. For a while they simply enjoyed themselves, for even Larxene couldn't help but fall under the spell of flying.
But Larxene was all buisness before long. "So, is there anything you'd like to tell me?" she asked, her voice deceptively sweet. Jason floated until he was eye level with his erstwhile lover. "I really am sorry that I lied to you. If it means anything, I didn't enjoy it." Larxene's eyes narrowed. "What I'd like to know is why…and what Axel's part in the lie." Jason sank a few inches before recovering. "Well, if you figured out that much, then I may as well tell you." So Jason recounted what happened. Larxene closed her eyes at the beginning of the story and opened them suddenly at the end. Jason backed away because he didn't like the look in her sapphire blue eyes. "It makes sense. You men always fight over the most pointless things. So now you're going to be my Slaveboy again!" Jason backed away again. "Oh no. Never again am I going to be Slaveboy!" Larxene wagged her finger. "It doesn't work that way," she exclaimed cheerfully, "You see, I abducted you. So I tell you what do."
It was at that moment that Larxene lost her flight powers over 300 feet midair, and plummeted straight down. Jason gasped and dived down in hopes of catching her…and he did. He floated back up into the air while carrying Larxene bridal style. Her eyes were wide with shock and surprise. "Not so much," Jason chuckled in response to Larxene's earlier comment. "Looks like you ran out of pixie dust. I'm going to run out as well…Tinkerbell, could you get us more pixie dust?" The pixie came through, covering the two in golden powder. Larxene lost her breath. Right now she was in Jason's arms, and he was covered in pixie dust, which glinted brightly in the sun. This not only made for a dream-like atmosphere, made Jason glow a golden light. Topping off the love and affection burning in his grass-green eyes and Jason looked more than cool–he made Larxene fall in love with him all over again.
There was crackling noise, and a (literally) shocked Jason let go of Larxene, who covered her face with her cloak to hide the fact that she was blushing furiously. "I can't help you from this point on. Good luck." With that, she vanished into a Dark Corridor.
Fourth Basement floor: An unconscious Vexen was carried by Roxas through his personal Dark Corridor. "Good job, Roxas." Axel said. He summoned a chakram and jabbed the scientist in the gut. Vexen bolted upright to find himself face to face with Axel, Xion, and Roxas. "Now, I could shut your babbling mouth right now," the flame wielder threatened quietly, "But I need you to do something for us." Vexen's analytical mind whirred quickly, and he said, "It's not as simple as you think. If you want me to create a replica, I need data. No amount of threats can change that." Axel wasn't a stupid Nobody, he knew when it was a better to back off. But still. "You know, you're right." the chakram Axel was holding caught flame. "Since you can be revived anyway…"
"GYYYUUUAAAAGGGHHH!"
Skies above Skull island: Jason ended his flight over a skull-shaped rock formation. Waiting for him was the one-eyed Free Shooter, Xigbar. "Hey, Slaveboy." he drawled in his surfer bum accent, "Are you ready for battle?" Jason nodded, but added, "Please don't call me Slaveboy. I abandoned that name long ago." Xigbar chuckled coldly. "Sorry, human. You were Slaveboy when we met," The air around Xigbar's fists rippled strangely, forming his arrowguns. "You will be Slaveboy when you die!"
Xigbar removed his eyepatch, revealing a strange clawlike scanner underneath. He warped onto the top the skull rock and used his glasper eye to focus onto Jason. He tried to attack Xigbar but he couldn't get close due to the shots he was letting off. Jason dodged about for a while until realizing that he was going nowhere, and would eventually run out of pixie dust. «I wonder?» To test out the thought, he waited until Xigbar loosed off another set of shots. Jason readied himself, and kicked the shot towards Xigbar. Suddenly he found himself warping to each of his shots before kicking them. "You clever little sneak," Xigbar groused before warping himself somewhere in the middle of the air.
He reloaded his arrowguns and used his space powers to kick Jason's ass even though he was far away. While he was distracted Xigbar emptied his clip on him. "Woah, nelly!" Jason exclaimed as he dodged the shots. He aimed to fly towards Xigbar, but he warped away. Jason's head spun as no matter what he did, Xigbar just warped away, all while firing shots. It didn't help that he could fire them from almost any direction. Though the midair battle was at Jason's disadvantage, he didn't give up. He scanned the sky for Xigbar and found him just walking upside down. He swirled around the Freeshooter, slashing him up. "Well done, human," Xigbar scoffed. "You managed to scratch me. But you're a pincushion." This was in true. Jason realized that (again) he needed an ace to win this. "He dug around his pocket and removed the golden Larxene card. «It's not like I have anything to lose,» he thought as he slapped the card onto his chest.
It sank into his skin and he felt an on rush of power. His already spiky red hair turned golden blonde and became even more spiky. His grass-green eyes turned sapphire-blue, and streams of electricity surrounded the boy.
First floor: "Woah." Was the general reaction at Jason's transformation. "I thought your card only boosted speed?" Saïx asked. Larxene couldn't explain it either. "Come see me, now!" Xenmas ordered in a tone that left no room for refusals or arguments.
Back to the Battle: "Impressive," Xigbar said in response to the sudden metamorphoses. Jason felt the power flow through him, whatever it was. He wasted no time in renewing his assault on Xigbar. Jason's new speed was even with the speed of Xigbar's warping. This resulted in a midair dance not unlike what Jason had done earlier with Larxene. The two warriors only managed glancing blows off of each other, and after a while they were both tired. They glared at each other from across the way. Then, to an unseen signal, they made one final dash at each other. For a moment, they both stood with their backs to each other. Then, Xigbar fell gracefully into the water.
First floor: Xigbar's monitor erupted into a storm of static and then turned off. For a moment, there was no one in front of the screens. Then, Larxene returned to the first floor after being reamed a new one by Xenmas…but still in a daze. Jason was opening her eyes, and taking her into the light. But when she really looked around, she saw that all the hostages were unconscious except for Serenna, who was missing. And the hall was covered in scorch marks.
Unknown Basement floor: Selene was seven at the time. Larxene had been off on a mission, so she was home alone with her father, Jason. Twilight Town was usually in a state of perpetual sunset.
