That isn't the real title, it's Our Story, part 5. I knew I had to do this part of it because it included, well, Doris! :-)
Doris blinked and opened her eyes. She sighed heavily, and then remembered that she had not breathed in a few hours. And even to dolphins, air is essential. They are mammals, after all.
Doris swam to the top of her tank, and soon her lungs were filled with delightful air. Then, she heard someone calling her.
She stuck her head underwater and realized it was her mother.
"Doris!"
Impossible, Doris thought. Ever since her brother came, her mother hardly noticed Doris was in the tank.
Here's what had happened the past years. Doris was born in a sea-life hospital. When she was about a month old, her and her mother were put back in the harbor. Her father had waited the whole time in the harbor, and the family merrily went off.
A few years later, Doris' mother was going to give birth again. Somehow, she got hurt, and an aquarium took her and Doris in. The calf came soon later, his mother named him Boston, after the aquarium.
Boston is now close to 3 weeks old, and Doris' mother seems to have forgotten about Doris. All her time was spent with Boston.
"Doris!" her mother called again.
Doris broke from her daze and swam to her mother.
"Coming, mum!" she called.
Doris soon found her mother. She swam up to Doris, Boston on her side.
"Sweetie," she said, "I just heard some keepers talking, and it turned out they're letting us go."
"Really?" Doris asked excitedly.
"Really," her mother said.
"When?"
"Oh, I thought you were kind of attached to this place."
"Not really. I did make some friends, but life outside will be better."
"Whats atside?" Boston whimpered.
"None of your business," Doris said.
"Now Doris," her mother started.
"When are we leaving, mum?" Doris asked.
"Noone of yur biss-niss," Boston tried to say.
"Okay, Mr.," Doris said. "Mum, I'm going to say bye to Fin and Lucky."
"We're not leaving today," their mother said.
"Then when?"
"A few days, maybe. Possibly a week."
"I'm gonna do it anyway."
Doris swam away.
"Whatsa week?" Boston asked.
