Duncan`s Pov
I woke up in the same empty room where i have been living for the last 3 days. My personal guard was that annoyinf brunnette named Courtney, which meant that i had been completely alone.
For the last three days, i hadnt say a word because the only thing she said was "Shut up"... All i had been doing was sleeping and eating, oh and starring at Courtney`s living statue, but the fourthe morning there was a change in my new and boring routine.

This Courtney, came with a happy face and almost running which was rare in her "Miss Independent" attitude. She had something little but noisy in her thin hands... There were... Keys?? Yeah keys!!! I was free!!!

-Morning jerk -she said happily while she walked towards my prison.
-Morning, sunshine -I answered, puzzled -. Why are you in a good mud? Did someone asked you out finally?

She sighed and stopped smiling.
-Better -She said-. I wont have to spend the rest of my days with you.
-Great!!! -I said, happily as her-. I am already tired of you, sweetheart. But i have to ask why.
-Its simple. Your DNA dont match.
-Fine.

I had no idea of how my DNA explained my innocence, but i was free now so i didnt care too much about it.

She finally opened the door and i jumped out. We walked together through the hall with the biggest smiles i had ever seen... She had a pretty smile... but it didnt mean that i like her...

The captain was waiting for us in his office. Entering there brought me a lot of memories, and all of them were hard, beacuse the last time i was there Gwen left me here alone.

-Fine, Mr Hyde -the captain started-. As Courtney may have told you, our DNA dont match so you are free to go whenever you want...
-I want go now -I said smiling sarccastically as i stood up-.And thanks for the meals.
-Not so fast, Mr Hyde. I said you are free but i wont let you leave without vigilance...
-WHAT THE HELL!!!
-Its necessary, because of your antecedents.
-And, let me guess... My personal vigilant will be your charming and cheerful nniece. Right?
-Its good to see that you two are getting on... Because if not the next days would be too hard for you.
-I suppose that means: she will be your shadow all the time. Right?
-Right.
-What!!!
-Courtney, look, this job its not easy and a parrt of the business is to do this kind of things.
-But a homicide detective wouldnt need...
-She would! And now Court, shut up and start doing your part or forget abpout a future here!!

She stood up after looking angrily at that man. She went out of the room. After 2 minutes she came back.
-Jerk -she said to me-. Are you coming or not.
-Whatever.

I wasnt happy anymore. To have that b*tch after me wasnt my idea of fun. And now she was going to be with me all the time for God knows how many time!!

Courtney`s Pov
The punk jerk went out of the station with me. I sighed and went to the parking lot, looking for my car. He came after me.
I got inside my car and waited until he entered to.
-And now where? -I said.
-Wherever you want, b*tch...
-If im going to be your shadow for some time i would like if you stop calling me that.
-Fine.
-And so... Where are you going to go?
-Anywhere, i dont care... Its the same...
-You know? Most people usually want to go home...
-Do i look like the other people? -He asked me sarcastically.
-No... But im sure there must be a place you can call home... Or where you can enter without having the police haunting you.
-Im sorry for letting you down, -he said angryily-,but i dont have a place like that, so why dont you just shut up and start driving wherever you want to?!!!

I shook my head and started driving to my appartment. My uncle said that he was free...But an appartment wasnt a prison, no, it was better than a prison.

After almost twenty minutes in complete silent we arrived to my appartment. We went upstaris and i let him enter to my home.

-So... -He said laughing at me-. This is your "home sweet home"??
-Yeah, and it is better than the streets so... shut up.

He ignored that and started laughing again and again... Everything in my appartment was like the funniest joke ever to him.

-The bathroom is here, the kitchen there and there is the TV... I will be in my room if you need somehting else.

He ignored me and sat down in the sofa. I shut my room`s door and jumped into my bed... I was so tired... But i wasnt sure of why... I heard Duncan talking with somebody else in the living room... He was laughing which was weird... Maybe it was a friend or even family... Anyway it wasnt my business.
When he ended his call, he started knocking the door in a noisy way.
I opened it angry.
-What the hell do you want?!!?!
-Calm down Princess... I hopeyou dont have any date with some guy because you would have to cancel it...
-Go to the point, Duncan.
-My friends are giving a party and im going.
-So...
-You are my shadow so i guess you wouldnt like to miss the big party... And i dont think you have anything better to do.

I roled my eyes. My uncle was going to suuffer for this.
-Fine. I will be ready in ten minutes or so... You should take a shower you stink!
-Ok, ok Princess-babysitter. That`s not your business.

I closed the door. Why was i so angry with him? Anyway it didnt matter. I went to my closet and looked for something perfect for the ocassion. I heard the shower and laughed. The idiot was going to follow my advice.

My outfit consisted of a short red dress with blach sandals and short black sweater. I said to myself that my outfit was great. I try to do something nice with my hair and in the end i only managed to get a weird but beautiful type of ponytail. I took my designer gun a lipgloss and my wallet and throw it all into a little black purse. Duncan knocked the door again.

-Princess -He said annoyed-. Ifg you are not outta there right now you will be left behinf. I know how to take your car with me so the transport wouldnt be a problem... For me.

I opened the door and he step back... I noticed he was starring at me strangely... Did he find me beautiful? Well anyway i was just his guard.

-Whare are you looking at? -I said annoyed but happy.

He shooked his head.
-Nowhere -He said puzzled.

He was wearing the same clothes but his face was cleaner and he looked... strangely attractive to me...

-Let`s go... We`re not going to stay in your party for a long time so if you want to stay longer you should better start walking.

We got into the car and i drove into the direction he told me to. Outside it was getting dark and i could see the stars shining up in the sky. I couldnt remeber the last time i went to a party... beacuse i never wanted to go to one.

During the short rip we only talked about the adress. And we arrived to the party twenty minutes later or so.

We got out of the car and walked to the house. I let Duncan take the lead. The house where the party was big and beautiful... I wondered which kind of people lived there... And how Duncxan was related with them.

He knocked the big wooden fdoor and a blond guy opened the door.
-Duncan!! Dude!!! -He said happily. -I thought you would be still in prison.
-Hi Geoff -Duncan said annoyed-. Can we enter or no?
-"We"? You have company?
-Yeah...
-But Gwen broke up with you a few days ago...
-Its not Gwen, but its a girl!! Can we enter?! Now!!
-Fine, fine!! Calm down...

Duncan grabbed my forearm.
-Come on -he said angrily leading me through the crowd.
