Holly: Tell us a little about your role in "A Thousand Words".
ARIEL: “It stars Eddie who plays a high profile literary agent and it follows him after he stretches the truth on a deal. I play a Jr. Agent in the same agency who has a few dealings with him. The film holds a valuable lesson on the consequences of every word we speak.”
Holly: Did you pattern your Junior Agent character after your own agent?
ARIEL: “Not after any of my current agents, but I definitely had a couple of agents in mind whom I've met and worked with in the past. I think one in particular is now a sales guy at Bloomingdales.”
Holly: Is Eddie Murphy as funny in person as he is on screen?
ARIEL: “He's such a pro. He definitely knows when to turn it on and off. I learned a lot watching him.”
Holly: Do you have any good stories from the set to share with us?
ARIEL: “We shot the agency scenes in a museum in Downtown LA and I remember it was an unusually hot week. So there we were, outfitted in power suits and ties, and I couldn't stop sweating! It drove the makeup lady crazy. And I would look over at Eddie and he's not even breaking a sweat. Just looking all cool and fresh.”
Holly: What's your favorite Eddie Murphy character?
ARIEL: “That's a hard one. There have been so many good ones! Definitely Axel Rose from “Beverly Hills Cop” and James Thunder Early from “Dreamgirls” are two of them. The man's a genius.”
Holly: Where else can we look for you?
ARIEL: “I'll be in Paul Thomas Anderson's new film “The Master” starring Joaqujn Phoenix, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. It's a 50's period piece and I play a migrant worker. It'll be out next year. And, I'm co-starring in a film called “Writer's Block,” hitting the indie circuit later this year. It was written and directed by Amy Fox, who wrote a great movie a few years ago called “Heights,” which starred Glenn Close, Jesse Bradford and Elizabeth Banks.
