Last chapter, Edward couldn’t believe how mean Rosalie had been to Bella at Charlie’s funeral; let’s see what happens now…
‘’The thing I don’t understand is how you could be so mean to her, she’s just lost her Dad for goodness sake’’ Bella heard Edward scream at Rosalie
She didn’t hear Rosalie’s response because as soon as Edward had shouted this Esme and Carlisle were up the stairs breaking up the fighting between the two siblings.
Edward walked back into his bedroom and saw Bella’s head in between her knees, covering her ears from all the screaming, he walked over and whispered
‘’I’m sorry, I just couldn’t stand seeing you like that’’
‘’I know you couldn’t, but I just can’t believe how vicious you were towards her’’ Bella said lifting her head
‘’Bells, you know how I can’t stand to see you in pain, and you were, even though you won’t admit it’’ Edward explained to her calmly
‘’Just leave it, I’d rather forget about it, about all of it, I know it’s not possible but I would just like to try’’ Bella said relaxing into Edward’s embrace, automatically his arms went protectively around her
‘’Okay’’ Edward said kissing her on the back of her neck
It was two days later, Renee had gone back to Jacksonville and Bella and Edward were at Charlie’s, clearing the house, Bella was in Charlie’s room, clearing his clothes into bin bags to give to charity, she was clearing about his wardrobe and found a picture of the two of them together, it was still in its frame but the glass was smashed, it had been under a pile of clothes, he must have smashed it when they had one of their stupid fights about Edward, that they made up after about ten minutes, after five minutes of not moving, just staring, she could feel the tears welling up her eyes and decided to just let them fall, Edward was downstairs clearing the kitchen, she heard footsteps behind her and she was soon wrapped in his strong embrace, he must have sensed that she was upset, she turned herself around to bury her face in his jumper, he stroked her hair as she sobbed, he hated seeing her like this and if there was anything he could do then he would, but he knew he couldn’t, he just had to let her have time to grieve for her father.
‘’Come on, let’s go, we can do this another day’’ Edward said pulling Bella towards the door
‘’Okay, promise me something? You will never leave me?’’ Bella looked up at Edward searching for an answer within his eyes
‘’I promise, now come on’’ Edward said, pulling Bella out of the room and out of the house.
That night Bella and Edward sat up most of the night talking, about Charlie, Renee and he told her things he had never told anyone, about his family, about how he was discovered by Carlisle and how he turned into a vampire, Bella shuddered at some of it but still knew she wanted to be like Edward, a vampire, she wanted to be part of the Cullen family, now more than ever.
