When he got there, the Doctor was downstairs working on the TARDIS.
‘You found that missing piece yet?’ The Doctor looked up and saw Sherlock looking at him through the glass.
‘No, I know it’s in there.’ He got up from the seat and headed upstairs. ‘I thought you said we needed time apart.’
‘I know but… I need you.’ They smiled at each other. ‘And John thought we should work this out.’
‘So what do we do?’
‘Lets go somewhere.’ Sherlock went over and took the Doctor’s hand. ‘Together.’
‘Ok, but let’s take John with us. As a thank you.’ Sherlock took out his phone and texted John
‘John it’s me. Come to TARDIS if convenient. If not come anyway.’ After five minutes John showed up.
‘Yeah?’
‘John, we decide to take you on a trip. To say thank you.’ John stayed silent. ‘You ok?’
‘Yeah.. I’m fine. So where are we going?’ The Doctor and Sherlock looked at each other.
‘We haven’t decided yet.’ Suddenly the Doctor ran over to the console and started pulling levers and pushing buttons. ‘Doctor?’ When they landed, they all got flung to the floor.
‘Does it always land like this?’
‘Sometimes.’ Sherlock got up and help John off the floor. ‘So, where are we?’
‘I picked somewhere which will be interesting for all of us.’ The Doctor ran over to the doors. ‘Venice 1580.’ He opened the doors and revealed an old market place. ‘Well, what do you think?’ Sherlock looked over at John, who couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
‘I think John’s in shock.’ The Doctor laughed. ‘Go on John.’ Sherlock pushed him out. ‘So Doctor, why did you chose Venice?’
‘Well, it’s interesting for John to look round and.. He grabbed Sherlock’s hand. ‘.. It’s somewhere romantic for us.’ The Doctor pulled Sherlock out. ‘But we have to be careful.’
‘Why?’
‘I don’t think they approve of.. You know.’ Sherlock knew what he meant and let go of his hand.
‘So you brought us somewhere romantic where we can’t even be romantic?’
‘I know. Stupid idea.’ Sherlock chuckled.
‘A wee bit. Let’s go, John’s already gone, we might as well.’ The Doctor lead him round telling Sherlock everything he knew about Venice and his previous adventures there.
‘So we had all these fish vampires..’
‘I thought you said they weren’t vampires.’
‘Well.. I.. Oh shut up.’ They came across a quiet street, so Sherlock took the opportunity to take the Doctor’s hand. ‘I thought I told you..’
‘No ones around. You worry too much.’ After five minutes they came across John, who looked like he’d seen a ghost. ‘John?’ He didn’t answer. ‘John? Doctor what’s wrong?’
He examined John’s eyes.
‘I think he’s in shock. John, it’s the Doctor can you hear me?’
‘I’ve just seen…’
‘You’ve seen what John?’

The Doctor had no idea of what to do or how to even begin finding him. All he knew was that Sherlock’s out there somewhere and waiting for him. He pulled the screen round and started to scan everywhere possible. Earth, Other planets, Other universes and even parallel worlds. But nothing came up. The Doctor slammed his hands on the console. Suddenly something appeared on the screen, they looked like co-ordinates. He pulled levers and pushed buttons as fast as he could so he wouldn’t lose the trail. When the TARDIS landed, he ran out the doors and found himself on a spaceship. He went over to the window and saw the earth.
‘I’ll never get tired of saving you.’ He looked around and scanned with his screwdriver. He found him. He followed the trace down the corridor then he heard someone coming so he hid behind a pillar. He peeked round only to see the...

'Doctor?' Amy had searched all over the TARDIS but couldn't find him. 'Doctor? Your really starting to scare me.' She came back down the stairs into the control room and found him sitting on the chair. 'There you are, never do that....' Amy stopped and looked at the Doctor, he didn't seem himself. 'Doctor? You ok?'
'Hmmmmm.' He didn't even look at her, he just stared into space, Thinking about Sherlock and wondering if he was thinking about him.
'Doctor!' she smacked him.
'Oh! What was that for?.' he asked rubbing his arm.
'Sorry but you wouldn't answer me and i've been looking everywhere for you.'
'Sorry... I..' the Doctor's eyes began filling with tears.
'Sorry, i didn't mean to hit you that hard.' Amy sat down next to him and took his hand.
'No it's not that.' the Doctor said wiping his eyes ' It's something else.'
'What?.' The Doctor remained silent, all he could think about was that day.
A Few Years Earlier.....

Sherlock sat at his desk, going through every case note and autopsy he had. He found nothing. Not a single scrap of evidence, who ever this was, they were good. He shut his eyes and casted his mind back to the crime scene. It was down a dark alley way, quite conseled, inbetween two buildings. They found a women, about twenty four, just got engaged judging by the clarity of the ring, was one her way home when something came up behind her and knocked her to floor, she lost a lot of blood. Sherlock opened his eyes and snapped back into reality, still not knowing where to start. The he heard a sound....
Sherlock sat in his study and gazed out the window at the stars. How he would love to see those stars up close,The mysteries of the universe was the one case he hadn't solved yet.
'Not staring at the stars again are you Sherlock?.' Sherlock laughed. John never understood is infasination with the stars, But thats probably because he never told him.
'Listen John, If you have been through the things i have, you too would turn to the stars.'
'What has ever happend to you that made you look at the stars?.' The memories came flooding back.

Doctor: Professor John Smith, University of London, here to check on the hospital’s research, don’t mind me, pretend I’m not even here.
Sherlock: Professor? Hmm. Tweed suit, suspenders, cheap loafers and a bow tie; I’d almost believe you except for one thing; that paper is blank.
Doctor: Is it? Hmm, would you look at that. Well it looks like you’re very clever, Mister Holmes, and that makes things much much harder.
Sherlock: And why is that?
Doctor: Well, un-clever people are very useful; they’re eager to help and don’t ask many questions, but clever people are very uncooperative and always think they’re right. It’s very annoying, and quite a hindrance when you’re in a hurry. I should know.
