1. Get
link. If you already have Firefox, make sure it's up to date and make sure you're using it. (Does ya no good if you don't use it! :))
2. Get
link. The link brings you to the official Mozilla site for Firefox add-ons. Simply click the green "Add to Firefox" button, then restart Firefox. It's just that easy!
3. Go to "Tools" in your main menu of Firefox. You'll see "AdBlock Plus Preferences" listed there. Click on it and you'll see a menu pop up.
4. Click on "Filters" on the leftmost side of the main menu at the top of the program. In this menu, click on "Add Filter Subscription..."
5. You'll see a list of filter 'subscriptions'. You're not actually subscribing to anything and they cost no money. You can choose whichever one you like, but you'll be best off choosing one for the area you're in. If in doubt, try EasyList. This is basically the step that tells AdBlock what to block - and the filters in the subscription will block most (if not all) ads automatically.
6. Surf on the web as you usually do (just make sure you keep using Firefox!). If the annoying ads AREN'T blocked automatically by AdBlock, you'll have to right click on them and tell AdBlock that you want that image/frame blocked. I highly doubt you'll have that problem, as the filters in the subscriptions are pretty thorough, but you never know.
