Private startled awake on the train. He must have fallen asleep. He couldn't see Julian anywhere, so he jumped off his seat to look around. He crouched down, and looked under the seats.
"What are you doing?" he gasped, pulling Julian out from under the seats, by the tail.
"Eh, the bubbl-y gum under here is already soggy!" he said, chewing giants waps of pink and green gums.
"That's disgusting," Private muttered to himself, but no use arguing. He sat buck on the seat, and stared out the window, his head resting on his flippers.
"Do you think we'll find them?" he asked, more to himself than to Julian. The ring-tailed lemur answered anyway.
"It depends on what da Blowhole guy does to dem," he said, his lips smacking as he chewed. "If he tortures dem mercilessly, than I don't think we'll get to dem in time." He sounded so calm about it, but the very throught made Private's heart stop. He jumped off the seat, half panicing.
"H-he wouldn't! He couldn't! I-I'm sure CC and Lexii can... can look after themselves." He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.

Meanwhile, CC and Lexii were way past lost, and wandered around aimlessly for over an hour.
"Don't you recognise ANYTHING?" CC exclaimed, throwing her flippers in the air.
"I've never knew his base was this big," Lexii gasped. "Then again, there were some places he would forbid me to enter, and I think this was one of them." She stopped a moment to get her bearings, while CC walked on.
"Fish-cakes!" CC grumbled, looking around. "Now I've lost Lexii!" She wandered a while longer, hoping to find her lemur friend.

Lexii had finally figured out where they were, by now.
"Ok, c'mon, CC!" she said, and started walking. "CC?" She looked behind her. "Where did she go...?"
