We followed Captain Blowhole....OK, we got as far as a telephone booth that was only a few feet from us when we heard him talking. "Yes, It is I, Captain Blowhole! I have come to report to you, my enemies, the one of your agents working on the leak is NOW working for me! I have suaded him to work for my cause! I have beaten you! Good day to you SIR!" and he hung up. he sped away on his scooter with an evil laugh, totally bypassing us.
We sat in stunned scilence and said nothing until morning. Till the first rays of sunlight crept over the buildings of Copenhagen that we realized that today was the say. Skipper talked very little about what happened in Denmark, but he saw no harm in telling us that today :July 18th, 1995, was the date Hans backstabbed him.
We were better armed then Skipper woul ever be, for now we knew Hans' motive; Captain Blowhole threatened to harm Skipper if he didn't help the bird leaking information to him, and he also promised him a position of power once he took over. I could tell Hans didn't want to do it. I could also tell that he WANTED power. From what little I knew of his early life, he was teased growing up for the simple reason of being a puffin in the all Penguin Training camp where he was trained and met Skipper. THAT much was the full extent of what Nigel knew and was able to tell me.
We followed Skipper and hans all over Copenhagen, as they were chasing the culprit. When they finally caught the penguin behind the leak we were shocked to see a familiar looking bird with a Mohawk : Rico! No, wait! Not Rico! Whoever it was looked an awful lot like him, so it could only be his father. Rico never talked much about his family, then again, he never talks much anyway.
"You!" said Rico's dad, Rocco, to Hans.
"What's he talking about, Hans?' asks Skipper
"N-nothing, Skipper! I'm sure it's just that he was shocked that we caught him."
"No! You Liar! tell him! Or should I?"
"Are you accusing my best friend of something, you scumbag?"
"Who? Me? I'm no scumbag! Ask your "Friend" about scumbagginess before you judge me"

"sighs deeply*" I never wanted zhis to come out, but I've been helping Rocco escape out capture ever since ve've been trying to aprehend him. Captain Blowhole came to me and he offered me a place in his new world if i helped him. he also threatened to hurt-"

He was about to say something more when a gropu of guards arrested him and listed his charges. Hans said nothing and stood stonyfaced holding Rocco"s flippercuffs.
As they dragged him away you could hear him scream, "Hans! You traitor! I"ll never forgive you! I hate you guts forever!!!"
We followed Hans out the door and found Captain Blowhole waiting for him. 'So do I get what you promised me?"
"No". said the dolphin" You have served your purpose and i no longer have need of you, now go the very sight of you disgusts me"
Something snapped in him. it was by no means noticable unless you looked into the cold angry glare of his eyes. that same intense look Skipper now wears most every day. The same look the would be seen in Hans' face every time he and Skipper looked at each other. It was that same hatred, fear and uncertainty that would change Skipper from the carefree, young, happy Penguin he used to be , to the Cold, ill tempered, hardened commander he is today This life changing moment was the reason Skipper has all the tender sweetness of a "Nam veteran with severe PTSD.
Kristen, CC, Tom McGrath, John Di Maggio and I finally found out what happened in Denmark, and we didn't like it. Not one bit.
