Fountains of Wayne is one of my favorite bands, but it seems like not many people have heard of them. When I mention "Stacy's Mom," they'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
I hope people realize that Fountains of Wayne is not just a one hit wonder kind of band. They've got four albums out right now, and each is full of great songs.
Their first album, Fountains of Wayne has a couple of standout songs, including "Radiation Vibe" and "Sink to the Bottom."
Their second album, Utopia Parkway, released in 1999, was named "Album of the Week" by People Magazine. This album includes of of my favorite songs, link. Another great song worth checking out is "Troubled Times."
Their third album, Welcome Interstate Managers (2003) is my personal favorite. link is the number one hit, but there are some other great ones. Check out "Mexican Wine" and "Hey Julie" if you're looking for something upbeat. If you want something a little more mellow, listen to "Hackensack" and "Valley Winter Song."
Their newest album, Traffic and Weather, was released in 2007. link is great, as are "Yolanda Hayes" and "'92 Subaru." I also really love "Fire in the Canyon" - it's a little different than their other songs, but you should definitely check it out.
Well, now I hope everyone realizes that FoW has some great songs besides "Stacy's Mom." I hope you all can appreciate thier albums!
