The End of Friends: How It Was Handled By A Friends Addict

When I first heard Friends was ending, I was in denial. I refused to read magazines that mentioned it and didn't want to watch any fan made videos that were made in dedication of the ending of Friends. After I left the denial stage came anger. I spent a very long amount of time composing a letter about how fantastic Friends was and how ending it would be a huge mistake. (I chickened out in the end and didn't send it, but it is the thought that counts, right??) Then, once I realized this wasn't just a bad dream, I started signing every petition I could find saying that I wanted Friends to stay!! Then came the depression stage. (The worst of all 5 in my opinion.) I took a pint of Dove Brownie ice cream and my Friends DVD's up into my room and shut the door. I only came out for food, water, light, bathroom breaks, and another pint of ice cream. (I know, I'm pathetic) Now, I can't say that I have fully accepted that it is gone, but I am coping with it and now hoping that another genius with the mind of a Friends writer will make a show that is as good as Friends.

jamislife i actually am in love with friends. it is so funny and sweet. i am so sad that there will never be ross and rachels wedding or the growing up of emma, erica, and jack. its weird to think that not only will we never see them again (except for old episodes) but that there life story has ended and that it will never progress. I MISS THEM

James12321 It was hard for all of us, try looking for other comedies to fill the void that it left, that's what helped me.

xNikishax It was so horrible when the show ended. I am still in denial and try to convince myself that it will come back. Friends was and still is the best show ever made. I couldn't imagine not having it. I know this may sound stupid but it has helped me to cheer up when I was sad and having difficult times and I actually felt like I knew the six of them. It's really strange, there's no other show that has ever made me feel like this and I don't think there will ever be.

edennirvana I am a Friends addict, I will always be in denial...I grew up watching it...even though I have the DVD's, I still think about the fact that there aren't anymore seasons coming out and I get nostalgic...Whenever I watch the dvd's I never watch the last episode of season 10, playing make-believe that the show is still running...Best show ever!!!!

tina_1989 it hurts... i grew up with friends it was something of a tradition with my sister to watch them together. when the show ended and around that time she left home, to study in england and i haven't been able to enjoy friends since... what stage does that make me?

theonewithjrb i was shocked to when friends ended but i stood tall and faced it i have saw every single episode and my two favs were the one with princess consuala and the one were joey speaks french!now i get a bit bored wen i watch the same episodes over and over again but in the best show ever!!!!p.s u should have sent that letter! --------------------------------------------------- friends is the best show ever

Fashion_life I love Friends!! When it ended I can not believe it, it is the best show I ever seen. I ope they make a new episode for all the fans that are addicted to the DVD.

friends95 i agree with 'nikishax' it cheers me up and u do feel like u no them I LOVE FRIENDS!!!!!!! and i hope they make a friends movie but if they do it wont be the same unless like the WHOLE cast and crew are the same people

msffluffy Hi i have only just discovered friends because i was not old enough to stay up that late (9.00 P.M!) But ever since i have discovered the marvell that is friends i have wished i was born earlier it is amazing! I LOVE FRIENDS it has been the best thing i have ever watched in the 13 years i have been alive lol! If anyone could give me a fan mail address that would be great it would make my life just so i could send a letter! Thank u i wud b soooo greatful! Oh P.S friends is repeated at 9.00pm on E4 + 1!

JellehBelleh I only discovered Friends in November (well, I've heard of it you know, before then, but I never watched it) and I'm like, addicted to it. I'm almost at the end of watching the whole series chronologically (just began Season 10) and I'm so sad... :(

JulieAP I am a HUGE friends addict, even though I started to watch friends after it ended(I know, you wld think I wld've known about them). But when I found out that friends had ended, I used this technique, I refused to watch any of the ending episodes. Until one day I saw the last episode and the last joke, boy, I cldn't get over it at all! But after a long time(couple of months), I finally sort of got over it. And now, I just watch the earlier episodes. Also, I DO NOT want them to make a friends movie. It just wldn't be right without the live audience. I am hoping that they will make one last season or two more seasons or continue it and not end at all!

jeannette26 I made sure that I had that night off from work.I cried at the end when there all standing in the empty apartment because you can tell that there emotions and tears where not a act.Love the show I didn't want it to end.Like Monica said "Its the end of a era!".So glad to have the DVDs its worth every penny.

sarahweng18 when friends started i was -5 :P but since i was born it was my moms favourite show ! o used to watch it 24/7 from the time i was 0-7 <3 but this year, i found it again and i LOVE it i dont remember how i lived without it !! my obsession has already begun .. but i know it gonna get bigger !! when i had finally watched every episode and realized therre was no more , i got really depressed so i had to watch them alll over again , and again ... and another time after that . i soo wish they had done a movie
