We weren't always the lonely clan in the cold mountains. We used to live by a lake with four other clans, ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. In a small stone hollow which the other clans called Moonpool. Our camp was through a secret opening in part of the stone wall. It was always nice and cold in there. So we didn't get too hot with our thick coats. I was the medicine cat, Starseeker. The other cats came to the Moonpool every half moon. But I went with my apprentice, Cloudfall every full moon.
But one night the other cats discovered us. They were jealous that we were closer to StarClan than they were. So they sent a patrol to drive us out. Not all the cats wanted us gone, some like Bramblestar and Mistystar wanted us to stay. Many died and we escaped to the mountains. Where we have stayed ever since.

My patrol trudged on. The scent of the huge eagle was still scented, but no one heard or saw anything.
My deputy, Steppingstone sniffed. "Nothing,"he reported. "Should we go back to the cave?"
"I don't know,"I murmured. "What if it comes back?"
"We will take turns standing guard,"my deputy promised. "Let's go."
I curled up in my nest, still worrying about my Clan. What if-
Suddenly, I heard a yowl and a screech. The eagle! And Steppingstone was on guard!
"Attack!"I screeched."EAGLE!"
Everybody sprang up and rushed outside.
Steppingstone was battling with the eagle. The eagle slashed it's claws across his neck. Blood splattered.
"NO!" I snarled. I sprang on the eagle. But the eagle was huge. It started to fly across a cliff.
"Icestar! Let go!" the whole Clan was screeching.
But I knew it was too late. If I let go, I would fall down the mountain.
"The new leader is Snowpool!" I shouted, thinking of my sister.And then I let go of the eagle.

Loners: NightShade and DarkNight are mates. They escaped from RedClan, and are the only living, known cats related to the clan.
