“Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.” Ezekiel22:26(KJV)

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel22:30-31(KJV)

A lot of times the destruction that comes on a nation/city could have been avoided if there was intercession on behalf of that nation/city. The land, mentioned in the scripture above, was violated with all type of sin and God sought for a man to intercede but found none. The bible says that yes the sin of the nation was bad, but it was because God found no intercessor why He decided to destroy the land. Had God found an intercessor the land probably would be spared.

When the earthquake struck Japan, a young sister asked in a group I am a part of, what she should tell her pairs who are asking, where is God? I wrote an article saying that God is asking the same question of us that we ask of Him, where is man? My thoughts are, just maybe if God found an intercessor, Japan would have been spared. Sometimes we sit in our lack of understanding trying to blame God for the destructions that come upon the earth, when God is seeking for intercessors and can find none.

The scripture said therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them. I found no intercessor therefore I consumed them with the fire of my wrath.

An intercessor is one standing on behalf of another before God, one standing between God and man. An intercessor can change God’s hand and mind. An intercessor can turn God’s wrath into mercy, much like Moses did. (We will look at that on Thursday).

There are times when God nudges us in the night season wanting us to get up and intercede for the nations and we roll over and say, we have to get up early in the morning to start our day. We are so caught up in our own agendas that we forget God’s agenda. Who will intercede for the nations? We find excuses, It is the last days, we say, they are a sinful nation that is why this happened. If that were the case, would not all the nations of the earth be destroyed? In Ezekiel the problem was not only the sin of the nation, but the problem was that God found non to intercede on behalf of the nation.

What if God should search for an intercessor in your city, will He find one in you? Can God wake you up and say, the sin of the land is great and I am about to destroy it, will you intercede? Like in the days of Ezekiel, the nations of today have put no difference between the holy and the profane. They have shown no difference between the clean and the unclean, our lands have been violated. Will we allow our lands to be destroyed and keep asking, where is God or will we intercede?

God is searching for intercessors.
