of course it makes sense. there is an H in herb and the english lanuage has enough silent letters as it is.

I'm American. Yet I pronounce it this way without knowing it comes from England. But I won't judge. But it kind of does make sense to pronounce it with a H. Otherwise what a terrible use of a letter.
