Chapter Two

As Gilbert, Dennis, and I entered the meeting room, we automatically knew that Alfred wasn't just being his idiotic self.

Ludwig, a very tough German, was pacing back and forth, looking as though his brain might explode. Kiku, a usually calm Japanese man, was sitting at the table, his temple being held by his fingers, thinking hard. Feliciano, a quite fun Italian, was freaking out in the corner, and his brother Lovino yelling at him to calm down. Even Francis and Arthur had quit fighting for once, and were both worrying big time, and Yao, a nice Chinese man, was doing the same. Ivan, a silver-haired Russian, was no where to be found. I looked up at Alfred, silent asking him what was happening.

“Go ask Ludwig.” He responded, looking sad.

I walked over to Ludwig and tapped his shoulder. “What's going on?” I asked.

He turned around, seeming startled, and his eyes softened when he found me. “Ah, Zana. Something terrible has happened.”

He then started telling me about the Virus.

The Virus was basically a super-virus. It started in Germany, where scientist where trying to create a cure to a disease. What they created wasn't a cure – it was the exact opposite. It was the next stage of the said disease, and was much worse. Including the original symptoms of the original disease, it also had added consequences, and was not only contagious, but also extremely fatal. Whoever got it only survived for 2 hours before the symptoms started settling in, and an hour after, they die. The Virus was only tested on a few people in a safe, enclosed environment. But now the Virus has leaked into the public. Only a couple of incidents of it had been reported at the time, but had gone un-investigated by the police, and over-looked by the government. Soon it spread into the countries bordering Germany, and into Asia.

But there was something else about the Virus.

An hour or so after the person's death, the corpse was re-animated.

The Virus triggered a part of the person's brain, and caused the person to become the “living dead”. No one knows for sure what it is about the Virus that causes this, but it is being investigated. After the corpse is animated, it has no recollection of it's past life. It only have one thing on it's mind: Eat. Unlike the horror movie stereotypes, they don't crave brains. They crave flesh. But not just human flesh – anything they can get their hands on.

The body also starts to decompose, just as it would if it were not moving. This then makes the body stink and start falling apart. These “zombies” will continue to move and eat until their body has totally decomposed.

It seems the only way to kill these already dead beasts is to destroy their brain. It sounds like your average zombie story, but it's true.

“H-how did... oh my god.” I gripped my arms and started pacing back and forth. “Do my brothers and sisters know? Do my friends know? Do they?” I whirled around and grabbed Ludwig's shoulders. “Tell me if they know!”

“Zana, stop freaking out. They know already. I contacted them a few minutes ago while Ludwig was explaining to you, and they are all in an underground facility waiting for us so that we can figure out what to do.” Alfred said.

But I was already past the point of calming down. With all the stuff that's been going on lately, I guess I just snapped. What will happen to everyone? My siblings? My friends? Everyone I know? True, I don't have many people that would consider me a friend, but I know them and I care about them. I don't want anyone to get hurt...

“Ack... Your grip is pretty tight..” Alfred strained. I hadn't even realized I was hugging him until he said something. I immediately let go and apologized. Even though he was annoying, and liked fast food a bit too much, he was still my brother, and I still cared about him. I stood up straight and turned to face everyone.

“Alright people. Whatever we do, we have to get to the safe house where everyone else is. I know that we all have someone in there that we care for.” I looked at Francis, Arthur, Gilbert, Lovino, and Feliciano. “And I know that we probably want to get back to them. I don't know how many of those Creeps there are out there at the moment, but we need to devise a plan to get to the facility safely. I don't normally take charge, but this time I am.” Alfred opened his mouth to say something, but I pointed at him. “Stuff it, cheeseburger brain.”

“So, if you really are taking charge, how are we going to get there?” Asked Arthur.

“That's what we need to figure out now. Francis, any ideas? Kiku? Yao?”

“Well, we need to make sure that we have a defense against the.... 'Creeps', and an attack plan if need be.” Said Kiku.

I walked over to the big round table and sat off the edge of it. “Yes. And whatever we use needs to be affective, but quiet. If it isn't, than we'd just attract more Creeps and then we'd be up a creek. Ludwig, do you have any weapons like this?”

“What about a crossbow?” Asked Dennis. Huh, I had totally forgotten he was there.

    “Excellent. Any other ideas?”

“One of my companies has been developing a weapon that is basically a mini laser gun. It doesn't make much noise, and it's small enough to fit in, say, your utility belt. I'm positive it can go straight through a zombie's skull.” Stated Ludwig.

“Great. How many can you get a hold of?”

    “As many as we need.”

“Alright, let's get geared up.” I hopped off the table and started to leave the room. “We need to have proper clothes and supplies needed for the journey.”

“And, it needs to be fashionable~.” Francis said.

“Er, no.” I turned one last time to face everyone. “Ludwig, get the laser guns. Dennis, get the crossbows. Feliciano, make some food packs. Arthur, Kiku, Lovino, get some supplies we might need. Yao, go help Feliciano, and please try to agree on some things. Gilbert, Francis...” I looked at them. “Just sit here and wait. And Alfred, go find Ivan. Alert him about the game plan.” I stepped out the door. “I will be finding the clothes necessary for the trip. Now, go do what I told you to do, and hurry.” I walked out.
